I’m really hoping this isn't some kind of total meltdown caused by the power supply...

How are you feeling about your current CPU? And more importantly, what’s your budget looking like right now?

If you’re happy with your processor and want to spend as little as possible, here’s my take.
Honestly, grabbing an extra 4 GB of RAM would be a start—though if you can find 8 GB for a great price, go for it. Either way, it helps...

Then you’ll need something in the ballpark of a GTX 970 for performance—so we're talking things like an RX 480, 580, 570, a GTX 970, or maybe a GTX 1060. Just look for whatever you can find that comes with a warranty and a really reasonable price tag.

That’s basically the bare minimum to make it worthwhile.

In my opinion, pairing an i7 2600 with 8 GB of RAM and a card similar to a GTX 970 actually makes for a pretty decent gaming rig.

Now, if you aren't satisfied with your processor—which, to be fair, is still a solid mid-range chip—then you're looking at a much bigger hit to your wallet. You'd have to invest in a new CPU, plus a new motherboard, new RAM, and a new graphics card.

It all really boils down to how much you like that I5 2500 and how much cash you have to play with.

Personally, if I were in your shoes and working with a tight budget, I’d just pick up another 4 GB of RAM and hunt for a GTX 1060 with a warranty on eBay. I'm assuming money is a bit tight for you right now.

Let's wait for someone a bit more experienced to chime in and confirm this.

But assuming you're perfectly fine with the i7 2600 and you're trying to keep costs low...

Just grab another 4 or 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 with a warranty from eBay.

Inside that Ford Transit van, there's actually some hardware running in the ballpark of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 4, plus an extra 4 GB of RAM. 😉 Honestly, if you're looking to save money, that's your absolute cheapest way to go.

If we're talking about the same person, they don't just need a psychologist—they need a lesson in basic manners and some serious etiquette training. XD

Oh, come on. Vettel seriously needs to see a therapist ever since that total meltdown back in Germany. XD

Imagine having someone breathing down your neck, right behind you, for every single one of those 70 laps.

You have to be incredibly mentally tough to stay focused and not mess up, and honestly, Sebastian Vettel just didn't seem to have that level of mental grit. We'll let him off the hook this time, though. xD
😉In all honesty, I think 95% of you would have cracked in less than five laps.

I’d love to see which of you would actually stick it out in an online Gran Turismo race if there was some guy tailgating you, breathing down your neck every single second of a 70-lap marathon.

Honestly, I think 95% of you would lose your mind and quit before you even hit lap five. It’s a guarantee. 😉

It’s honestly wild how you can’t just plug in more than one monitor to a computer anymore without everything turning into a total mess. xD Thank God we live in the 21st century! 😬

We’re looking at the most elite motorsport competition on the planet here. You’ve got the top ten teams and a massive concentration of the world's best engineers all fighting for inches. To me, it feels a little too utopian that Mercedes is the only one sitting on the complete package—everything from the engine concept and aero profiles to wheelbase, cooling, fuel, and tires. It seems almost impossible that none of the other nine teams can replicate that or even get close to it. When you consider how many moving parts and variables are involved, it starts to feel less like a fair fight and more like the house is just rigging the odds to make sure the betting parlors win big.

I honestly don't buy the idea that their struggles come down solely to the rake of the Red Bull Racing chassis or the wheelbase and track width...

To me, it feels more like the car is still about 35% Honda power and 65% Renault power. 😉 I suspect it’s going to take them at least another full year to truly find their footing. By the middle of next season, they might actually start looking dangerous... For this team, this whole year is essentially just one massive testing phase—a difficult transition from one engine architecture to a completely different one. You can't just expect them to iron out those kinds of fundamental integration issues in the three months between seasons. Even McLaren showed us that it isn't that simple. xD For Red Bull Racing, this entire season is basically acting like a preseason test in Barcelona.

Just wanted to add a few more thoughts to the mix.

1. If you're looking for a safe bet, put everything you own on Williams and Max Verstappen winning it all this year. Seriously, bet your house and your retirement fund on this one. xD

2. Pierre Gasly has absolutely crushed it, pulling in about 350% of the points he should be getting for Red Bull Racing. His performance this season is honestly legendary—he’s putting 2007-era Lewis Hamilton to shame.

3. At Red Bull Racing, they don't need three months to dial in the car; three minutes does the trick. They spend the other three months lounging on the beach sipping radlers. While everyone else is grinding through pre-season testing, those guys are basically just partying their way through Barcelona. xD

4. I'm calling it now: Valtteri Bottas is going to replicate Mercedes' dominance, but twice over. He’s going to be the champion for the next ten seasons straight... people, I am telling you, bet your houses and your pensions on this. It's a 250% certainty. XD

If I were to give a quick rundown of how things look right now:

1. Max Verstappen is going to take the championship this year... just expect him to be doing it with Williams Racing.

2. Honestly, Pierre Gasly has already pulled in 350% of the points he got from Red Bull; he’s basically won it all, so we might as well skip the rest
of the season. xD

3. It looks like Red Bull is still going to need a few more years to reclaim that top spot.... much like their situation with McLaren and Honda, they were staring down the barrel of a disaster, but they managed to pull through. I didn't mention anything about 3rd place regarding that, by the way. xD

4. Valtteri Bottas is the champion this season, so there's really no point in watching the rest of the races. xD

5. Kimi Räikkönen still shows he's got a really solid knack for developing a car.

6. Let's be real, Kimi Räikkönen probably cares more about his vodka than the actual driving. XD

7. Nope, because that was actually a specific clause requested by his guarantor in the contract. xD

I have to disagree with you there.
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
To me felt like Kimi was just driving on autopilot... his body was in the cockpit, but his mind was clearly on Neptune. He was nowhere near the track mentally.

In my opinion, Kimi lost that competitive edge a long time ago. It makes perfect sense why they want him at Stake F1 Team; they just want him there to pass on his technical expertise on how to build a car for next year, and then he can finally head into retirement. 😉
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
In my opinion, Alonso just seems way more driven than Matt Massa or Kimi Räikkönen.
If you put Alonso in a Ferrari or a Mercedes seat, I honestly feel like he’d make Lewis's life a total nightmare.

As for Kimi, he barely gave Sebastian Vettel any real trouble during those races they ran together.
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
It’s not that they lack raw talent; it’s just that their mental edge seems to have faded significantly since their prime.

The way I see it, Ferrari kept Kimi around mainly because he understood the car's DNA better than anyone else.
As for Matt Massa... look, if you’ve been a runner-up in the championship, being told you have to drive for a team like Williams Racing would be a massive blow to anyone's ego.😉

When both of them were at the absolute peak of their powers, they were nothing short of legendary. After that, though, it felt like they were just going through the motions, driving purely out of habit rather than true passion.

crimsonhawk23 said:It’s pretty wild that these "geniuses" don't have at least 20 individual titles to their names, right? 🤔

The reason is actually incredibly simple; they care about racing just as much as I care about joining the FBI, or how much I care about high-end women's skincare. xD

In my eyes, Matt Massa completely fell off during his time at Williams Racing, and Kimi Räikkönen was in the same boat after leaving Lotus.
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Honestly, Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen are cut from the exact same cloth. It’s like they both operate on about 10% interest in anything happening around them, and they drive like they’re using their left feet instead of hands. They have this uncanny knack for absolutely wrecking a car when it really matters. They'd be a dream find for any underdog team looking to fill a seat. xD

Just some more ridiculous and questionable logic for you all;
If Grosjean ended up with Maldonado as his teammate, does that imply Maldonado is actually better than Hulk, assuming Grosjean is indeed better than Hulk? XD

Grosjean also ended up paired with Renault.
So, by that same twisted reasoning, is Renault a better driver than Hulk? XD
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Just to throw some more fuel on the fire:

Let's look at Romain Grosjean for a second. If we're judging based on those specific results:

7th at the French Grand Prix with Romain Grosjean
8th at the French Grand Prix with Romain Grosjean

(Those were his finishes back in the 2012 and 2013 seasons)

By that logic, does that make Grosjean a better driver than Hulk too? xD

It’s the same story with Valtteri Bottas—he just got lucky having Kimi Raikkonen as a teammate, someone who can genuinely turn a mediocre car into something special. xD
