In this century, the barrier to entry is basically zero. You have books, virtual tours, or just talking to people who have actually lived abroad. It isn't a difficult "assignment"; it just requires a bit of curiosity. That’s the first step toward grasping how much reality differs from your own culture, lifestyle, or religion. Honestly, the comments on this thread regarding immigrants and refugees shock me. Most of them seem rooted in pure ignorance or hostility—which is ironic, considering people love to complain about how "uneducated" these groups are. Smh. ☕
The main thing is that you're educated enough
but have you ever actually heard the term national identity?
Can you even begin to see what these refugees are going to do to all of America?
Here’s just a little pointer as to what they’re like: volunteers and the government set up tents for them and provide food, clothes, and water
and then they go and burn it all down, and afterwards they just wander aimlessly through someone else's fields like headless chickens
They’re out there trekking through freezing rain with pregnant women
they don't pick the easy paths, they just push through dirty rivers
leaving a total mess in their wake
Besides, I don't see anywhere that the Vatican—which is always full of love—is taking anyone in
nor do I see the "Church" or Catholics mass-providing for them
and I certainly don't see their wealthy neighboring countries welcoming them either
And now that America is closing its doors, what do you think—will they want to come back?
Not a chance, they'll just stay right there, over in places like Mexico or Central America
