When I went to add my bank account, they only asked for an IBAN. Later, when I checked the details, it showed the SWIFT code for Chase Bank ending in XXX. Is there any way to delete this info? I'm still second-guessing whether omitting my father's middle initial in my name will cause issues... should I just leave it as is since I already submitted it?

A lot of waiting around. It's a holiday weekend here in the States right now, so who knows if that'll slow things down even more... 😁

I have accounts open for both dollars and euros, but I should probably still run the conversion. Just wondering how long it takes for the funds to actually hit the account... just want to test the waters now before my paycheck arrives. 😁

Just wanted to let you know my verification went through smoothly. 🙂 Now I need to move the funds from my USD balance to my checking account via my routing number. What’s the next step? If I click where it says 20 USD, I see options to add, convert, or send USD.

Daniel Torres said:Probably not 🙂
Did you actually send over that 20 bucks?
Try transferring those 20 bucks to your Chase account first. If that goes through without a hitch, then we'll know everything is set up right and it should work fine 🙂

Not yet. I’ll finally get around to it tomorrow and let you know. I’m sure I’ll be back asking for help again soon... 🙂

Joseph Martin10 said:It really shouldn't matter at all since they only ask for your first and last name. Your father's name isn't officially part of either one; it's its own separate category, and there isn't even a spot to enter it on Wise.
So, you don't need to worry too much about it.

I’m constantly overwhelmed, always terrified I'm going to screw something up. It wasn't even a big deal that I used a 'c' instead of a 'ć'. Thanks so much.🙂

ironcyclist58 said:I wasn't talking about the C/C stuff, that's fine, I was actually referring to the father's name field. Just type it out exactly how you got it from the bank, just without those special characters.

I already confirmed it without the middle name. What am I supposed to do now, there's no way to fix it? I thought I had to match whatever was on my driver's license...

My account is set up with a last name starting with C, but they rejected my transfer because
I typed in the routing number wrong, so I had to use just the initial without my middle name. Now the Chase statement shows my full middle name and last name... I'm not sure how to fix this...

I just tried adding my routing number for the first time and got rejected immediately. Apparently, there was an error with the characters or my name was incomplete. I ended up stripping out the accent from the letter and just using a standard 'C,' and that finally went through. Is that actually okay?... Also, looking at this Chase contract, under the section for name and address, my father's middle initial is listed next to my name. Should I include that when I fill in the account holder name? For instance, should it be Milena S. Vuković or just the name without it?

Daniel Torres said:Honestly, you don't need anything else. Seriously, zero. Just grab your card and maybe have your phone handy for that 3D secure authorization thing.
You probably already know the drill if you do any online shopping anyway.
Just go for it once you've got about $20 on the card.
When you're typing in your card info, you can check the "save card" box if you're planning on topping up your Wise account regularly. It saves you from the headache of re-entering everything every single time—just one click and you're done.
Let me know if the payment gets wonky or if you hit a wall.

Thanks a lot 🙂

Thanks, Daniel Torres, that clears things up. So I can just go ahead and pay those 20 USD right now, and the card details I enter during checkout will be saved automatically? No need to manually add my card or bank info beforehand?
Warren Buffett in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Can I just transfer 20 USD right away for verification without having to do things like "add your bank account" first? Once I get the
Wise Account Number, that's the plan...
Warren Buffett in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
The part that's tripping me up is the IBAN and SWIFT my bank already provided versus the ones you mentioned Wise will issue once my account verification is complete. Now I'm stuck wondering which set I actually need to enter...
Also, can I post a screenshot here? It would be easier if someone could just point out exactly which info goes into which field.

Daniel Torres said:So, basically you just hit the EUR tab, click add, toss in the amount, hit continue, plug in your credit or debit card info, and you're pretty much golden.

Once that money actually lands, just head over to your USD account details and shoot those numbers over to the company.

Then, whenever your paycheck finally hits, you just swap that USD over to EUR and wire it straight to your own account.

Thanks, I'll do that. If I run into any issues, I'll reach out. 🙂

I just transferred funds to my debit card, so I wanted to run this by you all before I start spending. My first step was going to "recipients—add one of your bank account—inside Europe" to enter an IBAN. Then there's an option to "add recipient to..."—do I use the same IBAN there? And where am I supposed to add a credit card?
Now the company has contacted me saying I need to have a USD bank account, but I'm pretty sure mine is in EUR. I don't see why that matters... doesn't the bank just handle the conversion automatically?...

Daniel Torres said:All you really need is the card number—you know, those 16 digits—plus the expiration date (that mm/yy bit) and the CVV, which is just that little three-digit code sitting on the back next to where you sign.
Don't go handing over your PIN.

Well, that's good to know...

Linda Morgan said:Also, do I need to input my bank details before paying, or can I just jump straight to the checkout?

And will it ask me for my card PIN during the transaction, or just the card number and expiration date? I’ve gone and forgotten my password... 🤦‍♀️

Daniel Torres said:Yeah, you can totally just top up using a Visa or Mastercard if you've got one on hand

I've got both cards ready to go 🙂

Thanks Daniel Torres, so is it enough if I just have a credit card with Warren Buffett, or should I go ahead and order a debit card right now too?
