Back again with more questions. While digging through this thread, I came across a comment about a guy having a hard time moving money into his own account. Apparently, the bank was demanding copies of his visa and all sorts of other paperwork just to let him access his funds. Did I misinterpret things, or is it actually common for banks to pull this kind of stunt? Also, in your experience, which is better: Chase or JPMorgan Chase?

Maybe, but I don't have anything on my card right now. I've always just withdrawn my entire paycheck in cash, so I'm in the middle of opening a new account just so I can move some money over to Wise...

Daniel Torres said:Yeah, just grab the IBAN and SWIFT/BIC from Chase if you want to pull money from Wise over to your Chase account.
As for your boss, you can just shoot them a screenshot of your Account details right from the Wise App.

Thanks, I'll do that. Just need to get this account open as soon as possible.

I tried setting it up, but they’re asking me to deposit $25 first. Is that part of the initial verification process? And will I need to ask my bank for the IBAN and SWIFT code to get this moving?

I'm waiting to open another account at Chase so I can use that one for verification. Thanks for all the explanations, learned quite a bit today 🙂

Thanks a lot for the detailed breakdown, it really helps. I haven't verified my account yet, so I'm planning to open a new card. Is the verification process a headache? I read on their site that they require a selfie holding a photo ID—do they still ask for that? Also, regarding that $20 deposit, am I correct in thinking I'll get that back once everything is set...

Thanks a lot. The folks at the firm didn't really give me any specifics; they just brushed it off, saying it was simple and the money would arrive without a hitch. They definitely dodged the question about what kind of headaches might pop up later... Thanks again.

I have an account over at JPMorgan Chase, and I’m waiting on some funds to arrive from Italy. To be honest, I’m not really sure what an IBAN or a SWIFT code actually is... any help would be appreciated.

I'm from Mexico and nobody here seems to have ever heard of Wis. It might be a stupid question, but how do I actually transfer money from Wis to my bank account?

I'm not quite sure what happens once my money actually hits my Wise account. How do I get it out? What's the process for transferring it over to my local bank account? If I could just grab it immediately, that would be ideal... it’s basically my paycheck.

Thanks a lot. Honestly, I’m still pretty lost when it comes to Wise. Can I link any card to the Wise App—like a Mastercard or a Visa? Also, will I get an email notification once the payment is processed? Does the money go straight onto my card? Sorry for asking such basic questions, but I’m still figuring this out, and I just started a job that pays this way...

Hi everyone. I’ve been reading through this thread, but since I’m new here, most of this feels like Greek to me. I have a few basic questions. I already opened an account with Warren Buffett, but I haven't finished verification yet because I'm waiting on my bank to issue a new card. I see they require a $20 deposit; how exactly do I link my card to Warren Buffett? Also, will I get a notification once someone sends money to my account, and can I withdraw those funds at my bank on the same day?
