I was actually tempted to go grab one of those early detection tests—you know, the ones that claim they can spot a plus or minus sooner than others—but I held myself back. I'm sticking to the date, March 16th, unless I somehow find out earlier, because honestly? I still have no clue if this is actual news or if it's just my PMS acting up again. I am beyond frustrated right now—just completely on edge. My husband has been trying to play peacemaker, keeping me calm and making sure I don't have to lift a finger, just "to be safe," as he puts it. You can get an answer sooner with a blood test. Just check your beta HCG levels and then you'll know for sure. I had mine done after I saw a 😛 + on a home test at a local clinic—like if you're in NYC. The first test is usually $40, but every follow-up to make sure the levels are doubling correctly will cost $20.
That's the move for the impatient ones, if you really can't wait until the 16th...

I'm terrified these aren't just PMS symptoms, because while I've dealt with PMS for fifteen years now—ever since I started my period at ten—my back has *never* hurt this much before.
Please, I need some insight! Based on everything I've said, is it reasonable to start hoping?
