Since it’s just a B category flick, they really should've made up for it with better jokes. I mean, humor is free, right? But this stuff is just painful. Honestly, some episodes of Pingu are funnier than this.

As for the comments—yeah, I'm with you there. I was mostly joking when I said that anyway. You always run into all sorts of critics on here, and you can never tell what someone actually likes. That’s why I don't let it get to me, but seriously, this movie is just bad.

And regarding Total Recall, it isn't actually *that* terrible—it just didn't live up to the original, which is why it got hammered by reviewers. Whoever was behind it took a huge gamble using such an iconic title, and objectively speaking, they haven't matched what the original did over the last 20 years. You could even argue they won't in the next 20 either, since nobody's even thinking about it now. So, if anyone reads these reviews, they should understand where the negativity is coming from, but hey, nothing's stopping them from watching it themselves and making their own call 🙂
Honestly, after reading comments like these, I don’t think anyone’s even going to bother watching this movie—unless they’re a total masochist 😁

I’m not really a fan of that modern brand of Black humor either, to be fair. The stuff from the *Fresh Prince of Bel Air* era was actually pretty funny. You could even see traces of it back in *Don't Be Sad*... plus, that guy from *The Intern* uses a similar style, which makes it work for me. But this new "yo-mama" type of humor? Yeah, it's exactly at that bottom-of-the-barrel level you were talking about.
Angela Davis4 said:Exactly. If there is anyone left even remotely capable of salvaging a parody, it would be David Zucker. But even he seems to be running on fumes lately. With Scary Movie 5 coming out soon, the trailer suggests it isn't any better than what we just saw; in fact, it looks identical to this.

This is awful. Wait—was it Nielsen in the fourth one? My only theory is that they just never really "got" his sense of humor, so now they have no clue how to replicate it.😁
Angela Davis4 said:I honestly regret even sitting through that trailer.

I feel like you could probably sue for damages just based on how much of your life was wasted watching this. 😛

It really feels like this whole genre went down the drain along with the Nielsen ratings.
Was this supposed to be a parody of B-list horror movies? Or just a low-budget attempt at mocking horror in general? Look, I can appreciate a bad sitcom like *Scrubs*, but this was honestly unwatchable. If I were back home in the States, I’d probably be looking into a small claims suit against the filmmakers just to get my time back. It’s just a messy pile of everything—mostly just endless, nonsensical references to modern American nonsense—and don't even get me started on the "humor."

If I recall correctly, drilling in Antarctica is actually banned by international agreement.😁
I actually think this version of Robin Hood works pretty well. It might have been even stronger if they’d just cut the final battle entirely—or at least done something more creative with it (definitely skip the kids part 😛). It feels like the director was really aiming for some historical grit given the setting. If you're just looking for those iconic, high-impact action sequences, honestly, the Kevin Costner version does the trick just fine. Beyond the usual archery stuff, though, this one is really defined by that unforgettable performance as the sheriff 😁
I honestly don't know how anyone stays sane watching this season unfold—it's just pure chaos from start to finish! I was catching the game last night and, man, my heart can't take these fourth-quarter collapses anymore. It’s like we learn nothing from last year, right? Just constant, agonizing momentum shifts that leave you staring at the screen in disbelief. Anyway, I'm curious what you guys think about the recent trade rumors swirling around the league... anyone actually buying the hype, or is it just more noise? kaže:
The Omnipotent Mission is just way too much!🙏

Thanks for clearing that up—I was definitely a little lost there! 😁

I actually totally swapped out the whole Mission Impossible thing for that one movie where Leslie plays some space agent—you know, the one. Honestly, I was thinking of that specific role as a bit of a smudge on his overall filmography.

Anyone else here a massive Star Wars fan? If you’re looking for some newer, slightly offbeat parodies that actually land, I can't recommend Robot Chicken Star Wars enough. It’s only three episodes, but man—every single one is packed with top-tier jokes poking fun at the original movies. Seriously, it's gold. 😁

Joseph Fisher3 said:Paul Walker could easily drag Hitman down to the level of an Uwe Boll movie. I'm not really a fan of his, and I’m honestly terrified that the new Hitman is going to be miles worse than Olyphant's version.

I mean, does the movie really have any other choice when it comes to its fate? 😛

Honestly, making a movie based on this game just feels pointless. One attempt is fine—everyone needs a fresh start sometimes, from the actors to the directors—but a sequel or a reboot? The game was special because it took this random character, this mysterious protector and larger-than-life hero, and brought him into a virtual world through such high-quality gameplay. That first game offered so much choice and freedom in how you actually carried out an assassination. It was great and it blew people away because nothing else like it existed in gaming back then. But now? Trying to bring those types of characters back to the big screen, where we've seen endless versions of protectors and mystery heroes in everything from superhero flicks to Luc Besson movies... 🙄 Not even the barcode on his neck is going to save this one. 😁

So, I finally finished the trilogy, and honestly? I’m with the majority here—the first one is leagues ahead of the other two. The sequels felt kind of... naive? And like so many people have pointed out, they just weren't all that convincing. In the first book, it felt like pure coincidence that brought these two fascinatingly weird protagonists together, which worked so well. But in the rest of the series, it feels like they're trying way too hard to force everything into one big connected web. Honestly, it might have actually been better if Zala had no connection to Lisbeth at all—just let them be two separate, strange lives crossing paths by chance.

It really makes you wonder why the author even took that turn after starting off with such a killer premise.

Haha, that’s what happens when people who don't have a clue try to act like experts. And I’m not even talking about people with engineering degrees—I mean even folks with basic vocational training could see through this, but apparently, there aren't even any sensible defenders left to speak up.
Honestly, instead of making a whole movie about it, they should just dedicate an extended episode to this on MythBusters.

The Balkanite in me really wants to say it's not nearly enough—but if you actually listen to what I've been saying, you'll see I feel differently 😁
Tesla, World Leader (2012) in Movies ·
Look, you have to realize that electricity, motors, generators, and power plants were all around long before Tesla came along—everything from that era was already running on electric power 🤣
. It’s not like they were out there trying to light up entire cities using some massive bank of 1000-watt batteries.

Betty Hayes10 said:What exactly are power lines carrying? Where do your TVs, washing machines, water heaters, and all those other gadgets get their energy from? If we just cut the transmission lines, are you going to be able to charge your phone? Are you planning on hitting up the store every single day to buy a fresh battery for your cell? 😕

Well, I ended up answering myself—he basically revolutionized how we move electricity around. But honestly, most things run on DC nowadays, including that TV you love bringing up, and even a water heater can work with either type of current. As for the washing machine, it uses an AC induction motor simply because they’re cheaper and easier to build—plus, if you’ve already got AC coming out of your wall outlet, why bother with anything more complicated? Actually, pretty much everything that uses an adapter runs on DC, which makes those adapters a necessary evil in this setup. Since almost everything today relies on electronics and runs on DC, we're stuck with them, even though semiconductor rectifiers are slowly starting to take over.

Anyway, it's always cool to see yet another movie about Tesla 🙂

Maybe this turns into some big remake, or just a director’s personal take on what Tesla’s life was actually like. Or—who knows—maybe they’ll wrap it in some weird fantasy setting, kind of like *The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen*, even if that has absolutely nothing to do with reality. They might even try to spin it as this epic showdown between Tesla and Edison, even though, honestly, it wasn't nearly that dramatic 😛

PS To the OP: everything you mentioned about AC being the main driver—it just isn't. I mean, maybe for certain industrial motors in a factory, sure, but generally? Not really. In fact, nowadays, like 99% of our gadgets—especially since computing took off—actually run on DC. 😁
Star Wars takes place in our own universe—not some alternate dimension or anything—just like Star Trek does. Though, if you really think about it, you could argue Star Trek is actually more "alternative" than Star Wars. I mean, the future they imagined back in the 60s and 70s for the year 2000 never actually happened! Meanwhile, Star Wars deals with this ancient past that we can't even wrap our heads around yet.
In other words, if the writers decided Jean-Luc Picard should travel back in time to take on Darth Vader, there wouldn't be any plot holes or logical issues at all.

But my whole point is this: if Star Trek is considered the gold standard for Science Fiction, then Star Wars definitely deserves that same title.
If you try to label the Star Wars saga as just pure Fiction, then honestly, the whole "Science Fiction" label loses its damn meaning.

The whole plot of Star Wars takes place in a universe just like ours—and what people totally miss is the disclaimer at the start of every single movie, cartoon, or game: "A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far away..."

So, technically, we're talking about Fantasy set in a specific corner of space and time. And if you think there isn't a scientific foundation there, you're dead wrong. I’m always flipping through the Star Wars Encyclopedia in my profile—mostly because it's packed with cool art and I still have that inner child in me 😁—and it’s full of technical breakdowns and conceptual designs for ships. It shows exactly how every little part of an X-wing or the Death Star actually functions. I mean, I don't usually geek out over that level of detail, but it's more than enough proof to justify the "science" in Sci-Fi.

In other words, just because Luke Skywalker uses whatever mysterious Force exists, or because Han Solo falls for his sister, doesn't make the saga any less Sci-Fi than when Jean-Luc Picard plays captain of a 24th-century starship while Deanna Troi stands next to him acting like she's having a continuous orgasm.

I voted against it—mostly because I can't stand how those glasses darken everything during a movie. In my book, getting a crystal-clear picture is way more important than that whole "collage effect" you get from 3D.

I totally see where they're coming from, though I'm honestly not sure how we can actually protect it.

If people spent less time hunting for sarcasm and more time just giving straight answers, this forum could actually be a pretty amazing place 😁
But hey, you can't deny that "Top Secret" with Val Kilmer definitely belongs in that category. 😁It’s got a few parodies of those deathly clichés that just kill me—you know, like having to smash a window before you can actually start shooting, or that whole thing where a priest shows up right before someone gets taken out... 🤣Basically, it's worth checking out.

I accidentally stumbled upon Spartance one morning while flipping through channels on HBO—honestly, I don't even know where to start. Every comment I could make feels redundant at this point, but one thing is for sure: you could probably use that movie as a form of interrogation in Guantanamo. While the Scary Movie sequels still hold onto a tiny shred of legitimacy thanks to their roots in classic parody—which Leslie proves in the last one, if I recall correctly—you might manage to squeeze a decent laugh out of them here and there. But really, it just feels like the whole industry is being swallowed up by that mindless "yo nigga" nonsense that’s infecting everything in American culture these days.

Even Nielsen has some dark spots in their filmography... like that "Omnipotent Mission" movie, I think that's what it's called.
