Feeling unmotivated, lazy, or just burnt out? in Psychology & Therapy ·
The thing about sick leave is that it doesn't actually fix anything. You don't solve the underlying issue—what we really need is a total overhaul of how our daily routine works.
It’s way too easy to just sleep through the whole damn thing only to end up feeling even more exhausted and groggy when you finally get back to it.
been there, done that

I feel exactly the same way you do.

The worst part is that psychotherapy hasn't done a damn thing for me. And I haven't just been jumping from one doctor to another—I’ve actually stuck with several different therapists for quite a while—so don't go thinking I'm one of those people who runs away the second things get uncomfortable.
We just kept going in circles—maybe it’s trauma, maybe my expectations are too high, maybe it's this or maybe it's that.
At this point, I don't even care to figure out what is wrong with me; I just want to know how to fix it. And therapy? It hasn't offered any answers there.

I’m honestly starting to think there might not even be a solution—like there's some kind of "glitch" in my actual personality.
It's as if I'm just missing that basic spark for living.

The real kicker with depression is that the only way out is to actually change your life—but at the exact same time, you don't have the damn will to do anything

What would a therapist say about this? Is this depression?

I’m feeling the exact same way—just wondering.

Who can I talk to for help? Who should I reach out to? in Psychology & Therapy ·

If nobody did, why on earth would I write about it? ☕

Well, I'm asking you now.

And look, if you actually had some revolutionary solution, you probably would've shared it ages ago with the people here who actually need help.
I don't get why you're waiting for someone to ask first.

It’s funny how you don't actually offer any solutions on how to manage hallucinations or deal with losing touch with reality.

Instead, you just wrote about how it's possible—basically, you just showed up and dumped all your thoughts everywhere. In spades.

And you're speaking from the "experience" of a conversation with one psychotic person. You don't live with someone experiencing psychosis, you don't work with them, you don't do anything.
That whole pathetic bit about it being the "most meaningful conversation ever"—it honestly makes me want to gag.
Sorry, gotta run, I need to go wash up.

Joseph Bailey41, have you actually ever met someone in a psychotic break, or do you just love talking trash and asking what’s wrong with psychosis?

I'm honestly shocked

So, I moved it to the kitchen table and now it’s dead—won't even turn on.
If I put it back on my desk, it works just fine.

1. A CIA — smaller than 120GB (around $117 or more), or maybe something slightly larger like 240GB (around 550GB); obviously, there are pricier, bigger versions too. This is probably the better move because it'll make the whole laptop feel way faster, plus since there are no moving parts, you don't have to worry about bumping the laptop around while you're moving it.

2. An HDD, which is likely what you're running right now—roughly $117 for 500GB, or maybe $133 for 1TB (honestly, I'd just bite the bullet and pay the extra few bucks for double the space). It's slower and pretty sensitive if you jostle it or tap it, but you get way more storage.

As for repair costs... heh, usually swapping a drive doesn't require taking the whole thing apart, depending on the model. But, given how old the thing probably is, it might be worth having them blow out the dust while they're in there. If the old drive is totally fried (which, let's face it, it probably is) and you can't transfer files to the new one, then you're looking at installing new Windows and everything else, which depends on whatever the local shop charges...

Hmm, how am I supposed to check that? 😬
My C: drive has 156 GB
My E: drive has 308 GB

If that's all there is. 😁

It's an HP laptop.

Thanks a ton for the advice. 🙂 🙂 The price for the drive itself seems okay, but this whole new Windows thing is stressing me out. I guess I'll either have to pay for the software or the installation... or both? :/ :/ And do I need a new Office suite too? That's going to end up costing me over $333?! I'm probably overthinking this.
Maybe I'm wrong though...

Thanks so much for all the input, everyone!! 🙂

So, let's say it's a hard drive... what would we be looking at for a total replacement cost—including labor? Just an ballpark figure so I can plan ahead.

I'll run some tests tomorrow; heading to bed now. 😬

Thanks again! 🙂

Hey there.

My laptop works fine for days on end, then out of nowhere—boom—it either hits me with a black screen saying "boot device not found" or just a straight Blue Screen of Death.

I’ve noticed that right before it crashes, it makes this weird little chirping or squealing sound 😬—pretty sure it's coming from the right side, near where the disc drive would be.

And honestly, it seems to happen most often when I move the thing around or set it on my lap.
Most of the time, if I just leave it sitting still on my desk, it behaves—well, mostly. It still glitches occasionally, even when it's stationary, but it's unpredictable.

Is it possible it's overheating and shutting down, or maybe something is just... disconnecting whenever I shift it? 🤔
One day it'll be fine for a week, and the next, it'll crash five times in a single afternoon.

Thanks a ton in advance! 🙂
