Chloe Hughes6 said:So, let me see if I understand correctly: you don't have a diagnosis, and the medical consultation lasts a mere two minutes? Doesn't that speak volumes all on its own? Though, I suppose one isn't supposed to say that here. Seroquel is a medication that should be approached with extreme caution, especially at dosages that seem more suited for a rhinoceros! Furthermore, 3 mg of Risperdal is quite significant when combined with the other medications mentioned. These fall into the category of drugs that can cause dependency. You really ought to find a new physician immediately! Why not ask that doctor if they would prescribe such a "small dose" to a member of their own family? If the healthcare system were functioning properly, that doctor would be facing a disciplinary hearing before the state medical board.

Well, if 62mg is enough to take down a rhino, what am I supposed to do with the 300mg I’m taking every single day? 🙄 It’s true that I spend most of my time sleeping and don't feel quite as drowsy as I used to, but then again, my situation is a bit more complicated than what was mentioned above.
I mean, I'm dealing with schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder on top of everything else...

brighthawk0 said:None of these benzos actually work for me. Not Ativan, not Klonopin, not anything... it’s almost like my own brain refuses to accept Valium. It just tells me that stuff isn't for me. But honestly? I still need something once in a while just to take the edge off.

I'm in the exact same boat. Nothing from that list worked for me either—I was prescribed Valium, and honestly, it didn't make a bit of difference.

Zachary Stewart2 said:Has anyone else dealt with that total emotional numbness after taking their meds? I'm curious—how long does this usually stick around, and when does it finally lift? Any advice on how to handle feeling so flat?

Yeah, definitely. For me, it happened specifically while I was on Zyprexa, and honestly, the numbness stuck around until they switched me over to a different AP.🙂

mellowtinker7 said:Hey everyone. Did anyone else deal with a massive dip in mood during those first two weeks of starting Zoloft? Like, my depression actually felt way worse before the meds finally kicked in. Is that actually a thing?

I'm not entirely sure if that's a common physiological reaction, but personally, I didn't experience that kind of dip.

So, that’s pretty much exactly what I was looking to figure out. Thanks so much for the help, guys! 🙂

Kevin Nguyen3 said:Well, I am not entirely sure what specific information you are seeking.
I have been taking it for ages...

I'm kind of in the dark too. 😁
Basically, I was prescribed this for my mood, so I was wondering if anyone has any real-world experience with it? I tried Zoloft for a while and it seemed fine at first, but eventually, it just felt like it was making my depression worse and worse. :\
And does it actually help with anxiety?

Has anyone here actually used Velafax before? I'm curious to hear if it's worth it.

David Vaughn75 said:Seriously, tell me about it.
The logic is always the same—you have to play it safe for a year or two until you're actually feeling okay, and only then do they even consider tweaking the prescription.

😲 Honestly, I was under the impression this whole process only lasted a few months at most. 🙂

David Vaughn75 said:Look, you can always ask your doctor to switch things up, but they aren't going to pull the plug on the meds just because you're feeling crappy. Honestly, Zyprexa is brutal, but it's one of the few things out there actually proven to help dial down those suicidal urges.

My doctor mentioned he'd look into adjusting my treatment plan, though he wants to make sure I'm somewhat stabilized first. 🙄

Zeldox 160mg
Zyprexa 200mg
Zoloft 100mg
Klonopin 3mg

I honestly can barely walk right now—I feel so sluggish and unsteady on my feet. Everything is just slowed down; I’m sleeping constantly, dealing with an endless amount of congestion, and talking like I've got some kind of built-in slow-motion filter on my voice. It feels like the meds have totally overtaken me. 😢 I'm really hoping these side effects taper off soon, since I only started this regimen yesterday... Does anyone have any experiences or thoughts to share? Sending good vibes to everyone!

graniteorca62 said:Hey everyone, I'm new here... just wanted to see if anyone else is on Zyprexa and what kind of side effects you're dealing with. Right now, I'm taking 6.5 mg and honestly? I feel totally spaced out—like I'm just drifting through life unable to actually engage with the real world... does anyone else get that feeling? That's about it.

I was on Zyprexa for a while and, honestly, it was just awful. When I first started, I gained over 45 pounds in just three months. I felt so sluggish and foggy—I could barely move. Everything felt flat, like all my emotions were just gone, and life felt pretty meaningless. My brain wouldn't function properly either, which made being social really hard. As for schoolwork? Forget about it. My concentration was basically nonexistent. I have nothing but bad memories regarding Zyprexa; my doctor actually told me I should stay on it if I wanted to end up with diabetes. Once I finally stopped and they switched me over to Risperdal injections, things improved immediately. The only catch was that the Risperdal caused my prolactin levels to spike drastically, so I had to stop that too... Since then, I've cycled through Haldol and Ebywya for antipsychotics. Right now, I'm taking Ebywya and Zeldox, along with Zoloft, Klonopin, and Cogentin.☕

fadedbear92 said:Yeah, I take 0.5mg twice in the morning, then 0.5mg twice at noon, and the same again before bed—0.5mg twice.

Every once in a while, I'll take one extra pill if I'm feeling way too sensitive; it helps level me out nicely.

Maybe your body has just built up a tolerance to the higher doses—it's basically meant to act as a mood stabilizer and help with anxiety.

Have you noticed your mood swinging more heavily throughout the day?

Actually, I was dealing with those mood swings long before I started taking Xanax, and honestly, even when I was on 8mg a day, I had the exact same issues. So no, it doesn't help me at all.

Is anyone else taking Xanax?
I used to be on about 6-8mg a day, but honestly, I didn't feel much of anything when I took it—just zero change in how I felt. My psychiatrist eventually bumped me down to 3mg and suggested I try testing out the lowest possible dose, so I just went ahead and dropped straight down to 1mg. Still, nothing changed.
When I take my Xanax, it feels like I just popped a flavorless Tic Tac. 🤷

Larry Lewis said:Sorry, I’m being a bit of a menace—but hey, that's just why I like you.🙂

Honestly, they’re all pretty much the same. And hey, you're alright too—I mean, if I look at it from my sister's perspective, you're definitely someone I'd get along with. 🤣🤣

Larry Lewis said:And let’s be clear: whiskey definitely doesn't count as medication.😛

To be honest, I've actually never even tried moonshine before😳

Larry Lewis said:He probably just stopped taking his meds.

Well, it doesn't necessarily have to be that way.
I actually went through a few similar episodes myself back in the day, and I was strictly following my prescription the whole time. 🤷

I’m currently on 200mg of Zoloft every day, but honestly, I don't really feel happy or even particularly free. 😬

Larry Lewis said:At the end of the day, what other people think doesn't matter—all that matters is how you feel inside.😂

Exactly.
Honestly, we’re all just a little bit fractured inside, aren't we? 🙂

The doctors over at my clinic in Smalltown, USA just changed my diagnosis while I was laying there in bed.
It’s not schizophrenia anymore; they've switched it to borderline and organic psychotic disorder.

But honestly, deep down, I think I'll always feel like it's schizophrenia.
