Everything’s getting more expensive by the day... not that those places were ever really on my radar anyway.
Maybe I’m just being picky, but I’ve officially blacklisted every single bakery I’ve ever visited where the food just didn't hit right. Even if it was just once. Those cheap supermarket pastries can taste straight-up greasy. Sometimes they’re alright... but honestly, I’m not about to take that risk.
Sean Long4 said:We finally pulled the trigger on Emma... and honestly, I’m done looking. When you break it down, the price at Sugarland is basically the same as Emma, except at Sugarland I’d have to buy my own trays just to have them stack the cookies on. With Emma, those are already included in the price.
Honestly, reading your posts makes me love M&M's even more... even if those fructose cupcakes are getting ridiculously pricey, whatever, they're worth it.
Daniel Smith8, if you get a chance, could you please find out how much their cakes are?
I mean, they aren't exactly cheap... but whatever... Mars, Inc. is definitely one of my favorites too. Along with Sugarman and Little Cookie House. I'll send over an inquiry and see what happens..
I don't have any doubts about this... part of the cake at our reception needs to be made with fructose because we have guests with diabetes, and honestly, it’s just a healthier choice for everyone else too.
I haven't actually started reaching out to bakeries yet since the wedding isn't until July, so it feels a bit early, but I'm definitely doing my homework.
It’s not exactly common to see fructose being used for wedding desserts, so I'm trying to figure out who even does this and what their experience has been like.
Man, that constant anxiety about someone going hungry—I was actually at a wedding recently where they totally dropped the ball on dietary restrictions.😢
I’m dropping in here with what’s probably a total amateur question.
How do you actually figure out how many desserts to order?
So, we’re doing this small wedding dinner with about 25 people. Before the ceremony, we’re hosting everyone at our place, and then there’s lunch at home the day after too. Since most people are traveling in for the wedding, they'll pretty much all be at that Sunday lunch (and the folks living in NYC will definitely swing by for sweets 😍).
How many pastries should we get? We’ll have a cake at the wedding dinner, but I think I get that part—basically one slice per guest plus a little extra.
Help me out.
One more thing (might be out of place, but I'll try my luck ☕): what’s the deal with leftover food at a restaurant after the dinner is over?
