Honestly, who cares about a crib? The kid will just be sleeping with you and your husband for the first year anyway! ☕...
What car seat? You basically just carry a newborn in a swaddle... 😲
Now you’ll probably have to get rid of the dog. It’s common knowledge that dogs get jealous and go after small children. I heard a story from a friend of a friend of a neighbor—some lady's acquaintance had that exact issue. Her dog ate her baby... or maybe the dog will just get jealous and toss the kid around like a football. 🤣 🤣 🤣 ... I don't even know whether to laugh or cry at this point. 🤷
And how on earth are you getting to the top floor without an elevator? I guess you'll just have to carry them up in pieces...

I don't even know where to start with this one. Just... wow. Honestly, I’m sitting here staring at my screen trying to process how we even got to this point. It’s frustrating, it's exhausting, and frankly, it feels like a total joke. I shouldn't be surprised, though. I really shouldn't. I should have seen this coming from a mile away, but here I am, still acting shocked like a complete amateur. It's pathetic, really. But yeah. That's where we're at. Total mess. 😂

I don’t even know what the hell people are talking about anymore. I am constantly seeing these comments popping up everywhere. Like, seriously? As a kid, you’re carried in a swaddle, you're held in someone's arms, or you're just tucked into your hair while being moved from the stroller... you just put the baby down. It's not that deep.
The absolute worst part? It’s when I hear it from those old ladies gossiping at the local corner store. 🙄
I honestly don't get it...
At first, I had at least ten different people telling me, "Oh, it's definitely going to be a boy, don't listen to those other predictions."
And then there were all those comments about whether it’s a girl... ugh, "it's a girl." Give me a break. As long as the baby is healthy, that's what matters.
But they say it with this tone, like being healthy is just some consolation prize because it wasn't a boy?!😠

And you know what really gets under my skin right now? Everyone constantly badgering us about the name, acting like we're being shady because we haven't decided yet.
People actually get offended when we won't give them an answer, like we're somehow hiding something from them.
As if having a name solves everything... why do people think they have a right to know? It's not like it's a state secret, but we'll pick a name when we're ready, and we'll tell people when we feel like it.
My sleep is basically non-existent right now... I can't even leave the house, the crib I actually wanted isn't an option anymore (some nightmare ordering issues), and honestly, between lying around all day and these hormones, none of my sleep feels real 😢

I am just exhausted from constantly explaining what I want, and fighting about how I don't like this color or that shade when I've already said: just get the damn crib 🙂
I'm pissed at myself for letting people talk me into thinking they’d handle things for me, and I'm mad that I didn't just buy everything back when I was five months pregnant 😵
At least I managed to stock up on baby clothes that I actually like...

Everything about the stroller and the crib terrifies me... though, truth be told, I don't even care anymore. Let them bring whatever they want, as long as my kid has a place to sleep once they're born 🙂
The Grand Canyon is fine if you aren't dealing with a massive crowd... personally, I can't stand that dance floor. If they pack the place, it gets way too cramped.
As for the food, I can't really get full on it anymore, but I'd say it was somewhere in the middle. Nothing spectacular, but not total garbage either.

In Vegas, you've still got Ponta and Imperial, which in my opinion blow the Grand Canyon out of the water. I didn't try any of the other buffets, so I can't really weigh in on those.
Look... I'm around your age, and trust me, I was bleeding at the start too and had to take it easy.
But believe me when I say, whether you're eating unwashed lettuce or some deli meat doesn't change the fact that those bacteria exist. 😉
Honestly, you’re doing more harm to the baby by stressing out over every little thing than you would by having a basic sandwich. 🙂
Kudos to you for trying to eat healthy, really, but there's such a thing as going overboard.

Oh, and one more thing... my mom says the exact same stuff yours does.
Back when she was pregnant, you could practically eat anything—as long as it wasn't booze or cigarettes—and she ended up having two perfectly healthy kids. Nowadays, everyone acts like you can't touch this or that. 🙂
Tell me about it... I grab a little Coke and suddenly everyone's breathing down my neck like I just committed some kind of felony 😛
And you should see the group of pregnant women smoking right next to me—nobody says a single word to them 🤷

Honestly, I haven't really given up much lately 🤔

Except for that one time I had some sage honey and then read later that it wasn't great for pregnant women. I was low-key freaking out for a minute there 😢

Look, it’s just not right.
I don't care if they make world-class cakes... with a business model like that 👎

If you agree on one price, then you stick to that price. Period. If you miscalculate—which, honestly, I don't even get how that happens when you're doing this professionally—then that's your risk to carry.

But the real issue is that for us brides, they can basically screw us over during that final week when everything is pure chaos. Because, seriously, where are we supposed to go at the very last minute to find a cake, a wedding dress, or a bouquet?

This is supposed to be our cake 😛
in three days we’ll find out if this disaster actually works 😁

I'm not a fan either 😬
that’s why I went with chocolate (and raspberries) 🙂

I'll pass on the one with cheese 😬

Actually... chocolate and raspberry 🙂

Signature! I actually dig this 😍

Even those colors 🙂 specifically that greasy black one 🙂

What's it gonna be made of?
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
either it’s just a cheap, poorly made mess, or it honestly just doesn't suit your 😬

honestly, looking at these photos, even I'm starting to second-guess myself 🙂

I feel the same way...
Honestly, that’s probably the only beautiful being cake on those stands that I actually like.

As for the tables, they offer two sizes.
Small ones or large ones... you can fit 4 to 6 at the small ones, and 8 to 12 at the big ones.
Usually, everyone just shoves 9 or 10 people at them.
But the banquet manager’s honest recommendation? It’s most comfortable when you stick to 8.
That’s what I wanted to do... but as the guest list kept growing 😠

And the penalty for not following the rules strictly? This wedding would have 100% turned into one of those disasters where the bride and groom just show up and everyone else has to figure out the whole mess.

Sorry Frank, I know this is mostly just me venting. 😢

Good luck explaining that to my mother-in-law.
She heard somewhere that you can squeeze 12 people around a round table and honestly? That's her final word on the matter...

In reality, eight is the sweet spot, but we’re looking at ten (if we’re lucky).

But whatever, I guess she just needs something to vent about...

Look, I’m not saying I don't want to serve dessert. It’s just that I have zero interest in ordering extra pastries that are just going to sit there on the table wasting space.
Once the cake is gone, we still have a few different kinds of cookies and strudels on the menu 😛

Nathan Cox25, sure, the tables are big enough, but we’re packed with customers. 😠

Nathan Cox25 said:It’s not really my business if things work differently where you live—I’ve never been to a wedding in California, so I wouldn't know... all I know is that back home, we always made sure guests could get coffee whenever they actually wanted it. A lot of restaurants have these strict windows for when they serve coffee and refuse to bring anything out before then. I’ve had plenty of times where I just wanted a cappuccino earlier in the day, but they flat-out refused. I eventually had to tell them I'd pay extra just to get it. It feels ridiculous to me when someone dictates exactly when I can or can't have a drink—I drink it because I’m tired and need the caffeine, period. 🤣 It’s the same thing with dessert. If I want something sweet, I'll eat it, but I’m not going to follow some arbitrary schedule just so people can feel like they're doing me a favor by letting me eat. 👎

That’s just stupid. 😲

I wanted those little pastries (you know, the ones on that buffet table after the cake is cut), but the venue staff talked me into letting the servers just offer them to guests directly.
So, we made an agreement with them that if anyone wanted seconds late at night, they’d bring them out then.
It’s the same deal with the coffee and everything else.
If someone wants more of something—or if she wants it earlier—it's fine. 😉

I have no clue 😛

Look, I’m really not angry or anything. We all have our own opinions and ways of looking at things.
But honestly? It kind of sucks when people act like I’m planning this wedding just to satisfy my own ego.
Because if I were actually doing this purely for myself—or strictly following what a planner would do—it would look veeeery different.

To be real with you, it feels like a lot of things have slipped out of my hands lately, and I'm just trying my best not to let it get to me too much.

I gave it some thought... but honestly, forget it. 🙂

There’s going to be cake, and there will definitely be sweets after the cake.
We'll have some treats at the house too (no clue what the caterers are bringing), plus we’re doing an appetizer hour right at the entrance of the hall, so there'll be dessert there as well.

That's plenty for me. 🤷
Once the main course hits the table, there won't be any room left for sweets—and I don't think my plan to serve all the appetizers at once without a break is actually going to work. 😠
Besides, people really ought to be out on the dance floor in between courses anyway. 🤔
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
I’m honestly skipping the dessert table entirely. I’ll wait until the right moment rolls around. 😁
(Meaning when the actual cake is served.)

Though, I guess I'll coordinate with catering to make sure they have some sweets on hand if guests start asking for them early.

I haven't done this at any wedding I've been to, and there's always a mountain of leftovers.
To me, it's just a total waste of money.
(And even if I did get a little goody bag to take home, half of it would probably end up in the trash anyway. 🤷)

I actually got into it with my mom about this a few times, but once she heard how much people actually throw away after everything gets split up, 😲 she finally had to see things my way.
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
My mom and my mother-in-law totally dropped the ball on ordering any desserts.
So now we're stuck with whatever happens to be listed on the hotel menu.
(Just one wedding cake, some mediocre pastries, and maybe some cobbler)

(And honestly, once everything gets too 🙄 over there, it's not even worth it)

When we get back home, we’ll probably just have some homemade cookies and donuts that the family whips up—because let's face it, nothing beats the real deal anyway 😁)
