I actually bumped my dose up to 1.2 today too! 🙂

To be honest, though, I was already starting to feel like the previous dose wasn't really doing much for me yesterday or even the day before. It felt like I needed more.

I haven't stepped on the scale yet, but I did notice things moving along a bit faster in the bathroom today than usual.

I actually had surgery last Friday, so I’ve been moving a little slow lately since I really need to take it easy and rest up.
I had every intention of being super strict with my diet, getting some movement in, and staying consistent with the medication, but recovery comes first!
So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some solid progress by the time my check-up rolls around in September.

I'll be hitting it hard again next week!

I honestly go through these wild cycles where I’ll hit a point of intense hunger and just can't seem to stop eating, and then suddenly I'll flip to a phase where I barely touch food, yet I still don't lose any weight. It makes zero sense to me because there's absolutely no logic behind it. I'm healthy, no diabetes, and apparently no insulin resistance either; I even crushed my fitness assessment recently (even though I'm carrying extra weight), so at this point, my only theory is that this stubborn fat is sticking to me for some weird psychological reason :-) We love each other, I hold onto it, and it holds onto me :-) And honestly, screw it... :-) Until we reach a formal agreement, this fat is staying put and I'm just going along with it :-)

I'm probably just talking nonsense. I have way too much downtime during this long holiday weekend :-) I've actually been feeling this sudden burst of euphoria, even though I haven't touched anything sweet. I have no idea where it's coming from or why I'm so happy. There isn't even a specific reason to be celebrating. :-)

So, does anyone actually believe in that alternative stuff?

Energy can't be destroyed, it just changes form. So, technically, this fat just needs to change its shape, hahahahaha!

What if you tried working out a bit? Maybe just start with walking and see how it goes...?

I just had to jump on here and share that I’m feeling absolutely incredible on my second day of combining Saxenda and Glucophage!
It honestly feels like I’ve stepped into a completely different body.

To give you guys an idea of where I was at, I was struggling so much before—I was dealing with constant dizziness, feeling super nauseous, and these pounding headaches made it almost impossible to even go for a walk. I just felt so sluggish, like I was moving through sludge, and I could have slept for twenty hours straight because I was just so exhausted all the time...

But now!!! The shift has been night and day! The very first thing I noticed is that I actually have energy again; those dizzy spells have totally vanished, and while I still feel a tiny bit off, it's nothing compared to before... and when I'm out walking, I just feel so much lighter. I finally managed to get out for a nice stroll today!
Honestly, I am over the moon!

Looking back, I’m actually a little heartbroken that I spent so much time just suffering through all those awful symptoms alone. :/

I figured I’d jump in on this thread and join the conversation.

So, my doctor actually recommended I start on Saxenda today.

I'm planning to head out and pick up my supplies this afternoon once my primary care physician finally sends over the prescription for Glucophage.

Dealing with insulin resistance has been such a nightmare lately—I've been struggling with these brutal headaches, constant dizziness, and my hair is thinning out like crazy... I am just crossing my fingers that I start seeing some real results soon, just like all of you have! 🙂

If I remember correctly, you’re always allowed to change your mind. I can't recall if the grace period is exactly 7, 10, or maybe 14 days from when you get the policy, but you should be able to cancel the contract without getting hit by any penalties at all.
So, I finally got my cervical screening results back today...

If anyone out there has been through this and wouldn't mind giving me a heads-up on what I might be looking at next, I'd really appreciate it...

Ureaplasma came back >10 (on the fifth)
mycoplasma wasn't isolated
Cervical swab - bacteriological aerobic and microbiological - shows normal vaginal flora

PCR for C. trachomatis - Roche PCR COBAS taqman CT test: Chlamydia trachomatis DNA was not detected

It’s all about finding the right designer—someone who actually understands the aesthetic you're going for.
For instance:

(they're based out of Savannah 🙂)

If you're looking near Savannah, just check out www.pozivnice.org... I actually had something pretty similar done once, and if I recall correctly, they gave me a really fair quote for the $2.75piece

How long did you guys have to wait for your photos and DVDs after the wedding?
It’s been an entire month for us and we still haven't seen anything... We’ve actually dropped by the studio twice now, and they just claim they're swamped and will call us once everything is ready... I honestly can't tell if this is just how they operate or what...
For context, we used Photo Zoom out of Des Moines.

Trust me, waiting for Photo Zoom is totally worth it! Once those shots come in, you are going to be so incredibly happy with them...

I'm still waiting on mine and it's been two whole months, so your wait isn't even that bad in the grand scheme of things...

Honestly, my experience with Kelbas Photo Studio was just a complete letdown...

If I were ever to have a wedding all over again in the Midwest, I'd definitely go back to Zoom and hire Andrew Car to handle the photography... they really know their stuff...

I was at the convention center in Indianapolis this past Saturday, specifically in the Crystal Ballroom, watching the Viva Box band. Photography by Photo Krešo

I have to give them huge props for the venue itself—it was incredibly comfortable inside, and honestly, nobody was sweating through their clothes like they were in those other halls we visited

The layout was so easy to navigate, too. They had these lovely round tables set for eight, complete with beautiful satin bows on the chairs—though I will say, be careful because if you lean back too hard, those Velcro fasteners might just pop right off!
The food kept coming, and there was absolutely no shortage of drinks... I’m almost at a loss for words when it comes to the service. Everything was top-notch. If I were getting married in Indy, I’d definitely book them for my wedding guests without a second thought!!!

As for the band, they were absolutely perfect. It’s a duo with both a guy and a girl singing, and the girl is such a pro at keeping everyone engaged—she was entertaining the kids and the adults alike. Nobody stayed seated; everyone was out on the floor dancing! They really read the room, playing whatever the crowd wanted, from local hits to all the big international tracks

I haven't had a chance to look through the actual photos yet, but their thank-you note was sweet. Plus, seeing how many different services they offer and how high-end their equipment looks, I have zero doubts that the final shots are going to be stunning...

Anyway, that’s my two cents for anyone still weighing their options

I actually ended up ordering my treats from Delicije in El Paso—you should go check them out! They have a Facebook page loaded with tons of photos, and honestly, I've tried their stuff before and it was delicious.

quietcobra52 said:Forgot to mention—I was over in Indianapolis visiting Nicole, and she’s where I picked out my wedding dress. It’s normally $4,500, but since $0.00 there’s a massive sale this year, I snagged it for $3,500. So, if anyone's looking to save a few bucks, go see Nicole. Just a heads up, the dress is still tagged—I'm wearing it for the first time in July, so it shouldn't be anything less than perfect by October. Pretty sure everyone is getting a discount at Nicole's right now.

That makes sense! When I went to try on my dress back in mid-February, everything still had the tags on it and the new collection was already out... though honestly, nobody ever told me when the actual debut for the current pieces was supposed to be, so I'm kind of in the dark on that part myself...

Their website lists full pricing and contact info for their representative in St. Louis. You just need to give her a call ahead of time to let her know you're coming. They have just about everything.🙂

They don't have any paper... at least, I don't think so. But they've got ribbons—every kind imaginable.

I actually swung by their location in Chicago last weekend, and they have plenty of paper, envelopes, and even pre-made invitations where you just need to handle the printing. Honestly, I can tell you right now that their prices are super reasonable.
Seriously, they have basically everything under the sun...

When I went looking for some satin ribbons, I ended up finding three massive walls completely covered in them—all sorts of different widths and materials, it was honestly overwhelming! And they had those little floral pieces for boutonnieres, big fancy bows, balloons, gel beads... oh my gosh, it was absolute heaven!
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
For anyone asking about where I got my sweets, I actually ordered them from Oreo in Warsaw
$0.67per piece, and honestly, they are absolutely delicious—nothing like those dry little treats you find in New York City catering shops that pass for wedding desserts.

They have over ten different varieties on their wedding menu, and if you have a specific craving for something else, they’re actually super open to custom requests...

According to them, if you're planning for 10 guests, you should grab about a kilogram, which works out to roughly 35 pieces...

The best part is that the textures are so rich and creamy, unlike those stale, crunchy things that sit on a shelf for ten days straight.

Definitely do a quick search online to check them out...

I can even have them sent via Greyhound if nobody is able to swing by and pick them up, since they're pretty easy to ship without any fuss.

Quincy:
I think
I mean, look, the statute of limitations is three years. But honestly, things get messy because a creditor can let a claim sit in a desk drawer for almost the entire three-year period before finally deciding to file it with the court. And then, once it hits the legal system, the courts can drag their feet for another three years.
From what I can tell, this collection agency is trying to handle the seizure through their own channels, but they can't actually legally enforce anything without a court order or a notary public involved. You should really take a close look at how these agencies operate; for instance, check out an example here: [url
says:
[/url]

Don't go paying a single cent just yet, because a lot of this is nothing more than intimidation tactics aimed at people who don't know their rights. Please, do some digging online into THIS specific agency to make sure they aren't some shady outfit looking to scam you!
There isn't any mention of a court anywhere in the letter, and I haven't received a single thing from a judge or a notary... absolutely nothing!
It’s just coming from this agency called CreditExpress.

So, I just got hit with this demand letter from some debt collection agency regarding an old balance $29 dating all the way back to March 27, 2006, plus interest $28 and legal fees $43 calculated as of April 3, 2013.
The letter included a formal notice of debt assignment, basically stating that Avon gave them permission to collect on their behalf and that I need to send the payment directly to their account...

It feels incredibly shady to me that after seven years of total silence, they suddenly pop up out of nowhere with this—not even a single warning or reminder before this!
I honestly had no idea I owed anything, and given my $29, I definitely would have settled it if anyone had actually told me I was in the red...

I ended up grabbing a quick consultation with a lawyer at my company, and he told me that the statute of limitations is an absolute three years from the invoice due date, which in my case would have expired back on March 27, 2009.

Does anyone here have any experience dealing with this kind of thing? Please let me know!

I've already sent off a formal dispute against the demand, arguing that the debt is way past the statute of limitations and should be wiped clean, especially since I was never notified about the debt or sent any prior notices, and that's pretty much my whole argument...

What happens next?
I'm really worried about them trying to push through a garnishment for $101 while they're still reviewing my dispute...

Is it smarter to just pay it now and wait for the decision on my dispute, hoping they'll eventually refund me, or should I just hold my ground, wait for the ruling, and see how things play out?

quietcobra52 said:Hey Midwest folks!! Is everyone just giving up on marriage or what? 😍 How’s the wedding planning going?
We finally locked in a florist. Jaka from Ivanhoe—they're super good and actually affordable.

Also, can any experts out there (if they even exist) tell me where Nicholas's bridal salon is located in Indianapolis?
I don't know my way around Indianapolis at all—all I know is how to get from the train station to campus and over by Stuc 🙂 is it near there? I mean, if I'm coming from the train station, which way do I head to find the salon?

Once you step off the train, just head straight ahead, and when you hit the traffic light at the intersection, turn left onto Republic Avenue right after you see the bank on your right. Then, just keep walking straight until you see Chase Bank on your left and that big, rusty monument sitting on your right...
Turn right toward the monument and keep going straight... the bridal shop is right there on the ground floor of the Super store on your left side.

Alex Ross32 said:What kind of prices are we talking about for rings and flowers? 🙂

I actually went with diamond rings—ten of them, in fact—so I didn't really bother looking at other styles, but I do know that mine ended up being way cheaper than what they’d charge me back in Washington, D.C.

As for the flowers, that's going to be my big expense $1333 because I am going all out and have absolutely everything planned out..
So, honestly, it all just comes down to the specific type of blooms you want and how much volume you need.

You really have to look at your guest count and table setup; I have 25 tables to cover
and then you have to decide if you want full arrangements on those tables (what style are you thinking?!) or maybe just those little floating candles in glass pebbles or water, or whatever vibe you're going for...
For my wedding, I'm doing those big, gorgeous round arrangements sitting in martini glasses on every single table

Then there's the sweetheart table.. you'll need to decide if you want one massive centerpiece, or maybe a long floral runner along the edge, or even some low spheres like the ones on the other tables...

And don't forget the church! Do you want an arrangement there too? I'm planning on doing both a main piece and some pretty bows for the pews...

The bridal bouquet will naturally be the priciest part, especially if you go for an all-rose design

Oh, and boutonnieres—how many people are we talking about there?!

One last thing, if you happen to have a good group of bridesmaids, they can play a huge role in the floral situation; if you're having the wedding in June, you're in luck because that's when everything is in full bloom

But hey, there's that florist on Facebook where you can check out their portfolio and just send over an inquiry to get a solid quote...
All I can say is they do an incredible job

In the end, they're quoting me about $4,000 for everything, whereas the places in Washington, D.C. were asking me for $10,000 for the exact same thing!

Listen, I’ve actually got a few quick and easy ways to save you some cash if you're looking for them...

I have to tell you guys about this amazing little flower shop called Aloe over in Savannah—honestly, their arrangements are absolutely stunning and they aren't overpriced at all! I actually ended up hiring them to do some floral work for me recently because I just couldn't get enough of their style. If you're looking for something special, you should definitely go track them down on Facebook!

If you're looking for invitations, you seriously need to check out invitations.org. Honestly, their prices are super reasonable, and they even have some great deals running on certain designs right now. Plus, if you can't find exactly what you're looking for on their main site, don't sweat it—they’re actually pretty cool about custom orders and can whip up something specific just for you. It's definitely worth a look!

If you’re looking to pick up some rings, you should definitely check out that jewelry shop over in Savannah—Daka’s. Honestly, if you’re willing to pay in cash, you can pretty much negotiate just about anything. They're super flexible with the pricing if you handle it that way; you can actually get the price dropped quite a bit if you play your cards right!

If you're hunting for the perfect wedding dress, honestly, you have to check out Nicole's place—it’s hands down the best bridal boutique around. I was just chatting with a friend about how stressful finding "the one" can be, but seriously, her shop makes the whole experience feel so effortless and special.

Honestly, you can just wait until Vartek has a big sale. I’ve seen stuff coming in from Canada that’s actually better quality than what you'd find elsewhere, and I guarantee it. It really wouldn't be worth your while to buy something that looks cheap in photos when the price difference isn't even that significant. You want to look sharp, not like you're wearing a costume!

When it comes to photography and video, I’m telling you, nothing beats a solid zoom—it honestly works wonders. There’s just something about being able to pull that shot in from a distance that makes everything feel so much more professional and impactful.

The band is actually pretty great—they aren't asking for an arm and a leg to book them, either. They’re super versatile and play everywhere, plus they have a female vocalist, though I'm not entirely sure if she's a permanent fixture or just a guest for certain gigs. They're from Savannah, obviously, and they've got that classic SiriusXM vibe going on.

If you’re looking to get your hair done, I honestly can't recommend the Simple salon over at Walmart enough... they really know what they're doing. And if you need someone to handle your makeup too, just talk to them—they’re hands down the best in the business for that kind of thing!

I really should do some more digging into the cookie situation, but honestly, my mom was insisting that the absolute best ones she’s ever had came from a little bakery in Memphis. She made this claim that their cakes look like they were professionally drawn or something—just perfectly executed. I actually left all the heavy lifting regarding the planning and organization to her, so I'm not entirely sure what the specific names of those treats are yet, but as soon as I track them down, I'll let you know!
