Placebo, Florence + The Machine, Brakes, EODM 👋
+ a few tracks from Frank Turner, Nutinija, and DCFC
Plus some up-and-coming local bands that are always worth a listen—The Repeater, Jonathan, Muscle Tribe, and them Moose Rush.

Totally fine if you're paying for it$83. 😁
And they’re still wide open even after Hyde Park on June 20th. :klap:
Am I really the only one not celebrating this firing? 🤔
Maybe we’ll actually land someone with real talent now.

Like Blur, for instance. 🕺

Flogging Molly was their usual self—solid and fun. Dave was even tossing Guinness to the front rows. 😁
I really wish they had played "The Likes of You" again; from what I can tell, they hardly ever touch it anymore.

Wolfmother is a disaster. Personally, my biggest disappointment on the main stage (and you have to be truly desperate to let management let that happen). I wasn't expecting much, but being such a blatant Zeppelin and Deep Purple carbon copy without adding a single shred of their own identity is exhausting. At least the lineup from Airbourne last year actually went wild and tried to make an impact. These guys just seemed content sounding like a 70s tribute act and calling it a day. Pathetic. 🙄

What’s the forecast for today?
Heading toward NYC this afternoon—not sure what to pack. Boots, probably? It’s stifling here...

Nobody knows. Yesterday was a mess—it was brutally hot until about 7, then it leveled out. Then it got hot again. Then fine. Then cold. Then it poured. Today's forecast looks just like yesterday, only with a higher chance of heavier showers.

what the actual fuck? what is that even supposed to mean?
Can someone please tell me what just happened? My stream died right as Rosberg's car crossed the finish line—one second I see Di Resta sitting in 6th!? 😕😕
Nico Rosberg, man. 🙏 🙏 🙏
Well. My thoughts on day zero.
It’s a total mess—but honestly, within reason.
The security checks went by fast—all possible checkpoints cleared at once—and they swapped our tickets for wristbands. They could have gone with plastic ones, honestly; these are cloth and I'm stuck wearing them for three days straight without being able to take them off. But hey, I'll survive. 🙂 )

Just hit the main stage today. That's about it.
Airbourne. Decent enough. They brought plenty of energy right out of the gate—proper, old-school hard rock to kick things off—and kept it up for over an hour. But honestly? The quality started dipping as the set went on, and I eventually found myself just counting down the minutes until they finished.

And then came the part I was actually looking forward to—first Bloc Party, followed by Iggy Pop.

Bloc Party ran about 10 minutes behind schedule—given the set times—but they absolutely crushed their set. Kele was high energy from the jump, opening the show with a popsicle in his mouth, which was a nice touch. They had great crowd engagement later on, and that light show was seriously impressive. They really got the audience moving and held their own. My only gripes? I missed seeing "Skeleton" in the setlist, and honestly, what were they thinking dropping "We Found in a Hopeless Place" for just 30 seconds? A bit odd.

And then there’s the main event—the star of the evening, and quite possibly the entire festival (The Monkees will have to work incredibly hard to top that)—Iggy Pop!

He flew in loud, performed loud, and left loud.
Ninety minutes of raw punk rock that practically tore the crowd apart.
He called everyone up to the stage to dance with him—during "I Wanna Be Your Dog," the crowd was absolutely losing it. Honestly, at 66 years old, he still sounds and moves like a twenty-year-old kid.
Even toward the end, he threw on this tiger-print jacket—complete with a little tiger on ice—just enough to give off those wild '70s vibes.
The crowd seemed a bit deflated during the encore—honestly, a little low energy—but "Louie Louie" and "Cock in My Pocket," along with that one new track, wrapped up day one of the festival on a high note.

All in all, I’m pretty satisfied—the lineup on the main stage tomorrow is solid, so I won't be moving from the front row. 😁

And finally, one shot of Iggy Pop up on stage with the crowd:

It’s funny how nobody seems to have remembered one of the greatest musicians to ever walk the earth... everyone is too busy debating pop stars like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, or Britney over on this subforum.

It's a shame, really.

But as far as I'm concerned, I'm sending a massive Rest in Peace to a man who changed music forever—someone whose songs gave me countless incredible moments. He'll live on in my heart forever.🙏
