Second Semester 2020/21 School Year in Coronavirus ·
stormymarlin22 said:At my kid's school, they’re all just sitting in class eating during breaks. I’ve seen enough photos from the classroom lately to know that at least half of them aren't even wearing masks. I’m not saying they ditch them during lessons, but just because I can't walk into the building without one doesn't mean they aren't taking them off later on.

So, what? You actually think children should be forced to sit through class with masks on the whole time??? I don't know if you've lost your mind, but they're already banned from socializing with other grades during breaks—now you want them stuck in their seats with masks on too, unable to even stand up!!!😵

According to his explanation, Dad gets ten days, and then I get an additional ten days once his period ends because we share the same household... I know at least seven friends who were in this exact same situation and only received ten days, which is why I decided to ask. However, none of them are seeing the same doctor I am.

You need to emphasize to the doctor that you’ll be staying in the attic, completely separated from your father, with no physical contact allowed except through video calls; if you frame it that way, they'll give you 10 days. Of course, you'd need your own private bathroom in the attic, and as for food, just tell them you'll have meals tossed out the window from the street...😵
And then you'll get 10 days of pure isolation.🤣

That guy ended up infecting half his department, including my close friend, and while my buddy actually did the right thing by calling me immediately once symptoms hit, the idiot who started this whole mess just treated the entire situation like some kind of joke.
Luckily, I didn't end up getting sick or anything, but I spent two miserable weeks rotting in my room just to make sure I didn't pass anything on to my family. My paycheck took about a 15% hit because of the sick leave, which really sucks, though the guy who infected everyone is doing fine and back at work, even if his sense of taste hasn't quite returned yet.
Those two weeks in isolation were nothing but a massive waste of life because you can't go anywhere, your income takes a dive, you miss important commitments, and you end up feeling like a burden on everyone else in the house.
The absolute worst part is that I'll never find out the name of that complete moron whose sheer carelessness put other people at risk and robbed me of my life for a couple of weeks. I'd love to know what he'd have to say to my face if I actually went after him to pay me back for the money I lost.

I completely understand where you're coming from, but for some people, switching to this way of thinking is difficult. In previous years, there was so much pressure to show up to work no matter what. If someone was frequently sick or staying home for every little cold or cough, people would usually just roll their eyes and gossip about them behind their backs.
About seven or eight years ago, a coworker gave me the flu. He came into the office with early symptoms, and because of him, my paid vacation was ruined since I woke up with a fever on the very first day of my trip. Back then, nobody talked about getting compensation because someone else infected you; I just lost money because I was out for ten days, and I missed my entire ski trip.
Bruises and sports injuries: advice needed in Health ·
It’s highly probable that you've suffered a meniscus tear, which would explain why the joint is catching like that.
Dealing with VUR (Vesicoureteral Reflux) in Health ·
It really depends on the severity of the reflux, and I’m assuming we’re talking about a child here. In some cases, it might resolve on its own, but if it's a more advanced stage, surgery could be the necessary route.
Numbness in my arm? in Health ·
It isn't carpal tunnel syndrome, otherwise you would be feeling it in your pinky finger. That said, there could be pressure on one of your terminal nerves. I am not sure what your blood sugar levels are like or what kind of work you do—could that be part of the issue? You really ought to get an EMG performed to rule out ulnar nerve compression before looking into anything else. It could be anything at all...
Rabies scare: Animal bite! in Health ·
There is actually a case documented in the medical literature where an individual survived rabies without receiving any vaccinations, so it isn't strictly 100% 🙂
