It’s just like how people reacted to certain slogans yesterday—I actually agree that we should move forward... it’s embarrassing and there's been too much of it, but I'm surprised by how many people actually feel the same way I do. Honestly, I'd bet anything I'm significantly more right-wing than you are.
If things could have been handled without all that extra baggage, they would have been—then the impact would've been better, and we wouldn't be giving those old-school Marxist newspapers an excuse to drag us through the mud. I'll give you that one! We're drifting from the main point, but since we're already talking about it, let's finish this thought. None of my family members were ever part of extremist militias, but they were caught in the crossfire when the partisans were clearing out villages. They’d roll into a small town in the middle of the night and wipe out half the population before moving on. As long as people are waving radical symbols in small towns, as long as the President praises those massacres, and as long as this country refuses to condemn Communism as a criminal, totalitarian ideology, then fine—I'm for the radicals and their cause. The very moment when radicalism is banned, when Communist symbols are pulled down, when Communism is finally condemned as a criminal ideology, and when all those Communist-era criminals are held accountable, then I won't give a damn about any of these historical factions anymore. Only then can we get back to the stuff that actually matters for everyone, like the economy, fiscal policy, and unemployment... That's all I have to say on the matter.
