The moderation on this subforum is pretty trash, and honestly, their weird little rules clash with the general site rules so much that it’s been killing any actual conversation for a long time now...
Sam Ramos85 said:It makes zero sense. It's just some arbitrary box for the idiots in headquarters to check off so they can brag about "making progress." Who cares if it's completely nonsensical and doesn't actually work? Paperwork can handle whatever nonsense they want to write down, I guess.

It's just like those ridiculous checkpoints between small towns...🤣
they basically isolate the poor folks so they can't even make it to the next town over, while all the silver-spooned kids and trust fund babies just cruise around wherever they want. They probably spend their time mocking everyone on social media, posting selfies of themselves heading to Target for the fourth time in a single day just to grab some chips...

Found this:

"To protect retail workers in stores permitted to operate under the social distancing mandates, and to allow for staff reallocation and efficient human resource management, operating hours for these locations are set from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM," reads the official directive.

From what I've seen—and others have too—everyone in smaller shops is just working a single shift. So much for efficient human resource management. As for the big chains like Walmart or Target, they mostly hire students anyway, which makes scaling staff a breeze. Guess this rule didn't really change much there either...
What’s actually the point of these shortened store hours? Like, what was the logic behind this decision...

The number of people needing to shop hasn't changed, but with shorter hours and strict capacity limits, crowds are inevitable. Honestly, it's worse than before. It feels like there's a line practically all day long. It's especially rough for anyone working a standard 9-to-5 who can't even get errands done during the week.
If I'm sending something COD to Canada, should I put the amount in dollars or euros on the money order? And what kind of exchange rate are they using...
Best bank in America? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Arthur Baker3 said:What if I actually end up needing the online banking features?

I was leaning toward JPMorgan Chase at first, but after seeing all those warnings and reading a few posts, I'm starting to second-guess things. I've also got Wells Fargo or maybe Bank of America on my radar.

If I'm reading this right, Bank of America lets you deposit cash directly into your account via an ATM. Does anyone else have that kind of setup?

Wells Fargo.
How to sign up for Medicare in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Moved my address, so my boss updated my info with Medicare and the USGS. Now he’s telling me I need to update my tax withholding card too. Is there anything else I should be doing besides those three things?
B2B payments for online stores in Economy ·
Casey Bennett2 said:Paying via bank transfer means the customer sends funds directly to your account through something like Zelle or an online wire transfer. There is zero cash involved in this transaction.

It doesn't count if you take cash you've already collected and deposit it into your account later. 🙂

By your logic, nobody would ever need to report sales to the IRS, since everyone is required to deposit their daily cash intake by the next business day anyway.

If a customer pays you in cash for an order, you still have to issue a formal receipt and then make sure that cash hits your bank account by tomorrow at the latest.

FedEx offers to take the cash they collect from the recipient and drop it straight into the seller's account. That's likely what the OP meant.

Otherwise, at my company, we have to log those kinds of payments for tax purposes...

Donna Wells74 said:Look, nothing's set in stone yet. I was thinking about rounding up a couple of people for a chill trip—still gotta map out exactly what I want to see, though. Things are too hectic right now, so maybe sometime on a fall weekend... I’ve got a place to crash, which honestly sounds better than sleeping in a tent or a sleeping bag for my first run through there. Can always do the camping thing later...
Anyway, I'll give you guys a heads-up when I'm heading out. If anyone's down to ride along for a stretch or whatever... I'll map out a route first, obviously. Fingers crossed the weather plays nice and everything goes smooth. Enjoy the rides...

How did you get into cycling? in Cycling ·
Got my first Victoria's Secret (basically a mini Pony) back before first grade, then eventually upgraded to a Pony. Around 5th or 6th grade, I ended up with a Specialized Rockhopper. That thing was a total tank, heavy as hell... probably built by some state agency employee out of old gas pipes. I wiped out on it so hard I still have the scars. After about three years, the hub just gave up, so I moved on to an Esperia around '99. Now that was a solid bike—aluminum frame, super light. It was a little small for me, which actually made it pretty snappy. Took that thing everywhere. Still riding it, but it needs a new chain, the drivetrain, and a rear derailleur (Shimano)... plus the rims are a bit bent. Didn't feel like sinking money into it since it lacks a front suspension, so in 2006, I picked up a KTM that I still have today. Only mod was the fork, because the stock one sucked (RockShox SID is way better), so now it's a beast. Ride whenever I can, usually at least 12 miles. Love those all-day rides, hitting 50-62 miles miles, but this heat is killing me right now 😠
