So, are you really dealing with mouse wrist pain? I was just looking at my own hands, and it's weird—I have this tiny little bump on my left wrist, but my right one is completely smooth... Even though I’m technically right-handed, I actually do most of my heavy lifting with my left hand. I guess I'm just ambidextrous in a way? I write with my right, but if they had just let me choose when I was a kid, I probably would've gone left-handed...
Basically, what I'm saying is... maybe look for a place somewhere else? Just because this feels like a starting point doesn't mean you should jump in headfirst. You really have to think about what happens once everything actually becomes yours...
You aren't the first person to deal with them just cutting off your insurance out of nowhere. They actually went and canceled mine retroactively—get this: back in early August, they used their card to cover a co-pay at the hospital for some bloodwork (TSH levels), the transaction cleared, and the amount was billed through Coca-Cola. Then, suddenly, at the start of September, I get a letter saying I have to PAY THEM BACK $17 because apparently, the policy was voided on some random date... basically, they wiped it out at least 20 days before that. The hospital payment went through fine because the coverage was still active at the time. So, really, what else can you expect from a company like this? Honestly, after spending 22 years working in IT, I felt physically sick dealing with them. I didn't even bother trying to intimidate them—just did it for my own peace of mind so I wouldn't lose my cool—and just paid them the money. How "professional" can you get? It's like nobody from Cisco even bothered to reach out to me, either before or after, to talk about renewing the policy... instead, they just killed a perfectly valid one. I always thought it was impossible for a private company to be managed worse than a government agency, but I guess I was wrong 🙂
