The madness of the transfer market cycle
in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Is it just me, or does the whole "big club" ecosystem feel like it's spinning faster every year? I was watching some highlights last night and it struck me how much money is being thrown around just to shuffle the same handful of players from one jersey to another.
It feels like a massive game of musical chairs. One minute a player is the hero of the city, and a few months later, they're being touted as the "missing piece" for a completely different squad on the other side of the continent. It’s wild how much a single good run of form can completely change a person's market value overnight.
Sometimes I wonder if the fans actually benefit from this constant churn, or if we're all just caught up in the hype cycles created by the big players. Does anyone else feel like the soul of the game gets lost when it becomes more about the "deal" than the actual sport?
