Pure, raw intensity at 100 miles per hour. There isn't a single ounce of mindless dialogue, internal conflict, or unnecessary nonsense here... just pure, brutal filmmaking.
The only thing that actually annoyed me—aside from the couple two seats over having a full-blown argument—was the music they cranked up at certain points. Was the director really trying to make a point there? Give me a break...
It's hard to tell, isn't it? Is the actor playing the detective just an amateur, or is he simply bad at his job? I haven't seen any of his other work, so I honestly can't say.

My kid’s history teacher was just going over early civilizations lately—stuff like writing systems, Jews, Egypt, and so on. Then, out of nowhere, she asks the class what they learned about all that from the Old Testament. My daughter came home totally stumped, asking me, "What am I even supposed to say?" And honestly, what *can* I say to her? Should I tell her to explain to the teacher that the Old Testament is basically just a collection of legends from some ancient desert outpost rather than actual historical fact?
Anyway, I just told her to stay quiet when those questions pop up. Just focus on learning the languages and, at the first chance she gets, find a way to hop on a plane to somewhere more civilized. I really don't know how else to help her...

One Catholic Church educator even went overboard during the pre-Christmas season; instead of analyzing a religious hymn during music class, she turned the entire period into a divine worship session. Then there was a history lesson where the Exodus through the desert was taught using the Bible as a primary historical source. I won't list them all, but these incidents aren't rare; they happen constantly. I even heard of a psychologist reprimanding a child for using the name of the Holy Spirit in vain—and right in the middle of math class, no less!
Parents have no idea how much indoctrination slips into their children's minds while they are away at school.

Every Christian should feel honored by this, rather than feeling pressured to show up for vigils. And Jessica Kelly4 says their church is packed with both kids and adults. I have no clue what it's like where I live; I'm not a believer. But it's weird to me that some people are counting down the days until the vigils while others are complaining... Is it because some are mostly Christian and others are just a minority? Some go out of faith, while others just go for the grades or so their kid doesn't have free time?!?!

What role can the school system actually play in this? Nothing, I suspect. The government pays the instructors, provides the facilities, and covers the working conditions... Yet the Church acts much like the NFL, encroaching on state sovereignty. Isn't that ironic?
During our prayer today, we reminded ourselves that we shouldn't rely so heavily on science, but instead turn more toward the spiritual side of life. Last week, scientists were busy trying to force their short-sighted ethics upon us. Just another typical day, I suppose. 🙂
