I just can't help but wonder... why on earth are Spanish fans celebrating their leadership? 🤔

I feel the same way.

Dymatize Elite Whey 4.5kg

vs

Biotech Pro Whey 4.5kg
http://www.amazon.com/example2

So, I just finished an entire 10lb tub of Pro Whey, and a friend actually handed me a kilo of Elite Whey to try out since I'm currently in a bulking phase.
The price gap is roughly $33. After doing a quick scan of the nutritional labels for both, I couldn't spot any major differences. Is it actually worth paying $33 more for EW, or is it just clever marketing?

Ryan Carter52 said:You can find an equivalent amount of Optimum whey from a dealer on Amazon, and it’s even cheaper in Mexico...
I have been using it for a month now, and I am satisfied.
Still, no matter which one you choose, it isn't some magic powder that works miracles.

If we wait just over a year, maybe prices will finally drop here in the States too.
On Amazon, the 4.5kg tub goes for $233, and once you add shipping, it usually ends up costing me more. Had I known there was a 15% discount at Vitamin Shoppe, I would have grabbed more powder. Looking at my current progress—adding about 4.5 lbs of mass per month—it looks like I'll need to pick up at least one more 5.5lb bag soon.

Unless you are an elite athlete facing extreme physiological stress, there is really no reason to bother. Or perhaps you are one of those people attempting a radical diet with minimal caloric intake to aggressively slash body fat? If that isn't the case, and you aren't looking to bypass digestion entirely via IV, why even use it?

I don't have any issues with my body fat percentage. As per my usual routine, I'll be hitting the scales on Monday morning to check my progress. Currently, the scale shows me at 146.6 lbs at 5'10".

slydriver52 said:The MWP you picked up is quite sweet, which usually means it's loaded with artificial sweeteners. On the plus side, it mixes pretty well. However, I wouldn't call it a smart buy. For that same price, you could have found a 10lb tub of Optimum Gold on Marketplace, and honestly, that stuff is top-tier when it comes to quality.

It is what it is; there’s no turning back now. I made the purchase because getting 24g of protein per 33g scoop seemed like a solid deal. I also mix in some glucose with my MWP, which makes it quite sweet. On top of that, I picked up some flaxseed oil, and I am considering buying some seeds to grind up and toss into my morning oatmeal. As for vitamins and minerals, I take them year-round since I stay active all year long—usually training six or seven days a week.

It isn't just about protein intake alone. You also need more complex carbohydrates, wouldn't you agree?
Rice, pasta, oatmeal, potatoes—ideally boiled in their skins—rye bread, and so on.
You didn't mention which sport you practice?

I am a long-distance runner, so my nutrition is already fairly dialed in for the sport. I focus heavily on complex carbohydrates from the sources mentioned, supplemented by plenty of fruits and vegetables. My biggest struggle, however, has always been my protein intake; that is definitely the weak link I need to address. As for everything else? Junk food, alcohol, sugary sodas, and even coffee have been off my plate for quite some time. The only indulgence I allow myself is the occasional bag of salted popcorn. I also haven't felt the need to cut out dairy entirely. My main goals right now are tackling that protein deficiency and overcoming my reluctance to hit the weights. Up until this point, my strength training has mostly been limited to core and back exercises. Because of that, there is a noticeable imbalance between my lower body and upper body strength, which I am planning to correct this winter—assuming I can stay consistent enough to see results.

I know I’m going to have to sacrifice a certain amount of aerobic training—which honestly frustrates me because I actually enjoy it. On the bright side, bodybuilders usually struggle to force themselves into cardio, whereas I find the weight room just as tedious. Hopefully, the extra carbs, fats, and protein will be burned off through cardio sessions. My goal is to put on about 9 pounds of muscle over the next four or five months using the P90X program. Ultimately, I'm not trying to look like a pro bodybuilder; I just want to fix some physical imbalances.

The version from Nestlé is incredibly delicious. Every single time I take a bite, I find myself thinking about my higher purpose. 😂

slydriver52 said:I'll just tell you straight: you don't need glutamine. As for everything else, I don't have the time right now to write out a full breakdown, though I'm not sure there's much point given how you framed this request for advice.

Thanks anyway. It saves me about twenty or thirty bucks I would have wasted on glutamine. 😉

Regarding manufacturers, it seems like every single one gets both praise and criticism. How is anyone supposed to remain neutral when trying to make a purchase decision, especially without prior experience? 🤷 To be honest, I was a bit irritable before, and that's on me. My mistake.

Christian Gonzalez10 said:Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey—you can't go wrong with that.😉

In the end, I picked up a 10lb tub of PRO WHEY from MVP. Whether it actually works will depend on my training, my diet, and so on. It cost me about $130, so the deal is done regardless.🙂

Since I have an ectomorph build, if I don't see the scale moving up, I am considering adding casein before bed. I am looking for thoughts, suggestions, or even manufacturer recommendations. They don't all have to be five-star reviews.

This constant back-and-forth regarding which brands to trust is getting frustrating. It adds an unnecessary layer of stress, especially since I’m currently traveling and can't just run to a local shop to pick up supplements.

Winter is approaching, and my stomach has been cramping lately as I ramp up my gym sessions. My goal is to put on about 9 pounds—definitely no more than 12—focusing primarily on muscle mass over the next four to five months. To make matters slightly more complicated, I struggle to maintain weight; I find it hard to gain and easy to lose. This might be because I run every single day and keep my body fat below 8%.

1. Which manufacturers do you recommend for clean whey protein?
2. Any recommendations for a reliable glutamine brand?
3. Are there any other ingredients you would suggest adding to my stack, besides dextrose?

I am also considering a recovery drink for after cardio if the need arises, but I will address that later.

4. Beyond specific brands, could you give me a rough estimate of how much whey (in lbs?) and glutamine I should buy? I want to avoid buying a small 5lb tub only to realize I actually need 15lbs. I'd prefer to get the best value upfront. For context, my schedule consists of six training sessions a week (three 1-hour sessions, three 1-hour sessions, and one 20-minute session), likely involving higher repetitions with lighter weights.

Erica, I won't be satisfied until you present a living, breathing example of their actual emotional maturity level—you know, what it actually looks like when a minor tries to seduce someone (or whatever fantasy is playing in her head);

I either need to start carrying sugar-free snacks in my pocket at all times, or perhaps I should just embrace being a cross between Sinise Vuce and Brad Pitt. It’s happened to me several times now: I have been a "victim of seduction." -16.
To get straight to the point without analyzing profiles too much, I am currently 24 years old. I'm not bragging, and I certainly don't find this flattering.

My neighbor, who is barely 14—and some might call her a knockout—saved these text messages so she wouldn't run into trouble.

I'll skip the tedious intro about who was messing with me using an unknown number and get right to the identity of the sender;

"You really think I'm just some little girl... huh?"

"Well... I just want us to get to know each other, that's all... I know there's a little risk since I'm 14, but hey, that's what matters."

"No... ugh... but what if someone needs to know... why are you being like this?"

"But... just give me a chance, one single chance... okay? Do you have AIM?

"Please... give me a chance... I won't let you down... younger is sweeter... come on, just give me a chance."

"Come on, give me a chance, please... don't be such a loser... please."

"Just give me a chance :)"

"Wait, what? I don't get it, what's the problem?"

(At this point, I sent her a message explaining how inappropriate this is and telling her she should find someone her own age.)

"But no one would ever know... ugh... age isn't even a problem... lol... why does it matter so much???"

"But don't you get it... I mean, I'd want us to be something or at least get to know each other better, you know? Ugh."

"Did you forget about me? Huh? Come on, just give me a chance... I know you changed your mind 🙂 🙂 🙂 "

(HINT: use "Urban Dictionary" for any slang or weird phrasing here 😁 )

If this had been some random girl I didn't know, I would have coldly said no and turned my back on her. But since I know her parents and her family, I tried to explain to her nicely that things simply don't work that way.

I'll leave you to judge for yourselves...

If your eyes fail you, surely you still have a brain left, even a Legionnaire has one. 😉
The same goes for maturity; if anyone finds a teenager who doesn't think they are more mature and advanced than everyone else, I'll buy them a drink.
Bradley Wood3 said:An adult should feel some sense of responsibility toward people who aren't mature yet—people who are vulnerable.
I already said I don't support either side of this.
Because let's call it what it is: pedophilia. An adult sleeping with a 15-year-old is sick. Period. That kid is still a child mentally and emotionally—they just happen to have a body that reacts physically.
Another thing—nobody is "metaphorically" getting screwed anymore. People who should be protecting kids are just exploiting their naivety and lack of experience for their own twisted, selfish needs.
Yeah, I think even someone 20+ looking to hook up with a 14 or 15-year-old is a sicko.

I completely agree with everything said here. However, there will always be people defending the relationship mentioned in the original post. It makes me wonder: would they still defend it if the characters were swapped from Z to M?
When people claim it’s "not inappropriate" for a 30-year-old professor to target a 14-year-old girl—arguing they’re doing her a "favor" or some other nonsense—why don't they apply that same logic to a male teacher? Is it suddenly acceptable just because the predator is a man?

Don't be ridiculous. It is hard to believe anyone would actually defend these kinds of relationships, regardless of who is involved...

Electrophysiology. 😉🙂 But it's close enough.

Scott Allen10 said:Generally speaking, scalpel incisions aren't necessary unless you specifically need to widen a small entry point to allow for easier passage of a dilator or a sheath.

An incision would definitely be necessary to make that kind of entry through the artery, wouldn't it? It seems like he'd have to dilate it slightly as well.

Scott Allen10 Asks:
You likely couldn't feel the wires passing through the aorta. It was probably just that unsettling sensation you mentioned—that realization that something is moving around inside your body.

I didn't feel any actual pain, but there was this growing sense of discomfort that seemed to tighten right against my chest as the catheter drew closer.

Scott Allen10 said:Perhaps the local anesthetic simply wasn't administered effectively, or maybe there just wasn't enough of it used?

Is it actually possible for a person to be immune to anesthesia, or perhaps for their nerve receptors to simply be more sensitive than average? When I talk about this "immunity," I'm referring to my own experience; I’ve already undergone three different procedures under local anesthesia, and I happen to be allergic to atropine. Furthermore, why is it that when you meet with the anesthesiologist before a procedure, they always have to go through those repetitive, ritualistic questioning sessions? 😁

Good grief, how on earth is it even possible to have heart surgery at a local clinic? No matter how much of a layman I am, I’m pretty sure that needs to be done at a major general hospital. Couldn't you have searched for a general facility instead?😲

It isn't some massive chest surgery where they saw through your ribs with a saw or grind them down. No, they just make three small incisions with a scalpel, retracting the tissue and skin to make room for the introducers. But even then—especially when they're doing it "live" (in my case, since I didn't exactly feel the full strength of the anesthesia on my own skin)—it hurts like hell. It’s particularly brutal because that area is packed with muscle. And then, of course, there is the part where they have to thread the catheter through the vein. While the probe was traveling toward my heart and maneuvering around in there, it wasn't exactly painful, but it felt incredibly uncomfortable.

neontrucker39 said:I am asking anyone who has personally experienced, or even just heard stories about, people feeling pain while being fully conscious during surgery despite being under anesthesia. I went through this myself, and for a long time afterward, I would wake up in the middle of the night gripped by the fear that it might all happen again...

During a cardiac electrophysiology procedure I underwent, they used local anesthesia via injection in my right groin area, but honestly, it did absolutely nothing for the pain. I felt everything—from the scalpel incision to the insertion of the catheters and the probe moving closer to my heart, all the way down to the removal from the groin. It was anything but pleasant.

As for the surgeries I’ve had under general anesthesia, fortunately, I haven't had any stories of waking up mid-procedure or having out-of-body experiences. 🙂

Honestly, I know plenty of people who deal with that—myself included 😁
My theory? They only bring it up when they run out of actual things to talk about or have nothing intelligent to say, so they just resort to nagging to keep the conversation going 🙂

Yesterday, during Sunday lunch, I finished two pieces of meat with potatoes and salad plus a bowl of soup, yet my mom still had the nerve to argue that I hadn't eaten enough 😂
I just told her, "You're right, Mom, you always know exactly when I'm full or hungry..." It can be charming sometimes, but if someone is constantly nitpicking your every move, it’s enough to drive anyone crazy. 😍

Regarding the ingredients in MusclePharm;

Buddy, I hear people suggest taking a "break" from certain supplements after a while because of those idiots out there.
Does that advice apply to this specific product, or is it only relevant when dealing with pure creatine?
