Thanks for looking out for us and for the advice, Ryan Nguyen4. 😉
Trust me when I say this. Every pregnant woman in America is educated enough and informed enough to know better. They know the risks of drinking, smoking, or any other vices. And yeah, that includes sex too. 😁Dangerous during pregnancy!
Good grief. If we actually know how to post on a forum, we’re more than capable of using Google to look up anything regarding pregnancy. 🙄
At the end of the day, everyone has the right to make their own choices about their body and their pregnancy. If someone thinks having a glass of wine or a beer and smoking a cigarette isn't an issue, who are you or anyone else to lecture them? Life is a risk. 🤷
P.S. Are you actually pregnant, or did you just swoop in here like some Good Samaritan to stir up drama for no reason?
On topic: Some idiot walking his dog today really pushed my buttons. Some uneducated jerk let his dog jump all over my girl and try to hump her. Total lack of control. Unbelievable. Owner's all the way on the other side of the field. I'm yelling at him to get his dog under control and he won't even budge. Nothing. Just ignores me. I started pushing her away from me and eventually just started kicking her because she wouldn't get off. Then he started jumping all over me. Took a direct hit right to the gut and slammed hard onto the floor.😲 Then my little pup lunged at him and started snarling like crazy, attacking him. My girl's got heart, I'll give her that. 😍Then the idiot owner just runs over, shoves the dog on the grass, and walks off like nothing even happened. 😠 Asshole. Lucky for me, nothing actually happened.
Hey ladies, thanks for the advice and the support 🙂 It helps knowing I'm not the only one... It's impossible to talk to my husband about this because he just thinks I'm being hysterical and overreacting 😠 I mentioned it to Norma Bob, mostly just joking around out of pure desperation, but I doubt they'd even give them to me—plus, I'd be too terrified to actually take them 😉 I'm fine during the day; I stay busy with a million different things so I don't dwell on the pregnancy or the baby. The worst part is at night when everything goes quiet and the panic starts racing through my head 😲
I just worked myself into a total frenzy. I can't just relax and enjoy being pregnant like I'm supposed to because I'm constantly stressing over every little stupid thing. 😠
For the last few nights, sleep has been impossible. I’m just tossing and turning for hours because my brain won't shut up about a thousand different things that could go wrong. I've got full-blown scenarios playing on loop in my head regarding every possible disaster that could happen during this pregnancy.
Honestly, I'm thinking about asking my OBGYN for some Xanax at my next appointment just so I don't lose my mind. I just want to get this baby out and finally get this weight off my shoulders. 😠 😠
Anyone else dealing with this? Is this just a temporary phase, or am I stuck like this for another 17 weeks before I can finally 🙂
If he tries to argue, I'm cutting 🙂 him 🙂 off . I've had an issue with his nonsense for years—now I can finally blame it on pregnancy hormones. It's my one shot to get rid of this jerk 😁! Since the "gentleman" decided there's absolutely no reason to buy a new crib for the baby because we have enough space in the old ones—yeah, right! He's living proof that being cheap actually hurts!
p.s. I don't know what's gotten into me today, I'm usually not this nasty!🤷
I had a total meltdown today for absolutely no reason when I opened the junk drawer in the living room unit. 🙂 It was just a massive mess of computer cables, phone chargers, camera cords... God knows what else we haven't touched in years. 😠 I tried to organize it, but honestly, I ended up tossing almost everything except the camera cable, the digital camera, and some phone chargers.
I open the next drawer 😲—and there are literally 54 PC Gamer magazines that MM dutifully buys and reads year after year. He reads them once and then just stuffs them in a drawer because apparently tech never advances and he needs them 🙄. I tossed 51 of them. Kept only this year's issues.
In the last drawer, there were about a hundred CDs and DVDs of games from the prehistoric era (probably for the Amiga and Atari 😛). He guards them like gold even though he’s constantly downloading and buying new stuff! I threw them all out except one!
Then MM gets home. Asks what I did all day. I told him straight: cleaning and organizing. He says "okay." I ask if he wants to see what I did. He goes, "Nah, no time, gotta sleep then hit the gym..." So I just smiled and said, have fun!
He's gonna lose it when he sees what I did. ...🙂 and 🙂
Last night, while he was in an exceptionally good mood after 🙂, I handed him a printed checklist for IKEA and BabyCenter in SLO. It had everything on it—strollers, car seats, cribs, even specialized medical gear, skincare, diapers, baths, monitors, mobiles, bedding... the whole nine yards. I even circled the total amount and bragged about how much money I’m saving us. 😉 Then I went on about those $1,000 strollers (when our entire setup costs maybe $1,400), saying it's insane how people waste money on useless junk just because they feel like they have to. 😁
He wasn't exactly thrilled, but he didn't make a huge scene either. I made sure to tell him that once we start shopping in two months, I'm calling the shots—I've already found everything, and I'm not picking the most expensive stuff, nor the cheapest garbage.
Ever since the pregnancy started, he keeps feeding me this line about what his coworkers told him—apparently, a bunch of guys at his job just had kids recently—saying you shouldn't buy anything and should just borrow everything. 😠I love hearing "advice" from unverified sources. Besides, I don't exactly have a stockpile of people to borrow from, and I have zero interest in taking certain things used by random acquaintances or complete strangers. Look, fine—maybe I'll borrow a few things here and there. But we've been waiting years for this baby and we can afford some decent gear. I don't want everything to be secondhand. 😛
I have no idea why some of my relatives think it sounds Canadian—clearly, geography isn't their strong suit since they don't realize the Mississippi River is just a border between us and Canada 🙄
Like I said, I'm not changing it for anyone unless my husband turns out to be a brave enough man to actually hold my hand during labor (yeah, right—not happening)😛
I actually had my favorite girl's name "saved up" for years, waiting to give it to my little girl, my sweet 😍-Lola (we got her because I fell into a deep depression after being told we couldn't conceive naturally, so I gave the name to her immediately, and honestly, she feels like my actual child 😁) Then I spent months trying to come up with a replacement and fell in love with UNA.
Best advice ever: don't tell a soul what the name is until the baby is born 👍
Jeremy Thomas5 said:@Adam Evans62, I honestly think the United Nations is such a beautiful name (much better than something like Fran). What is it about that name that bothers people in your circle so much? 🤷
Stupid reasons. It’s actually embarrassing to even bring this up because half my family turned out to be total nationalists. 🙄
To them—not everyone, most people just stayed quiet with shocked looks on their faces—that’s a Canadian, basically a Muslim name. 👎So what? What's it to you? It feels like "certain people" would only be happy if my kid was named Joanna, Anna, or Mary. What can I even say? He’s from the South and I’m from the Midwest. Talk about a clash of cultures. 😛)
Look, I'm definitely not changing my name just because of their narrow-minded bullshit. The only way I’d even consider changing it is if MM actually grows some backbone and stands by me when things get real with the family. 😉 With my luck, they probably won't even like the name. Who knows whose name Frank actually is, anyway? I doubt it's even a typical American name. 🤷)
My blood pressure is through the roof today. 😠 😠 We finally settled on a name and updated everyone who asked (not to mention dealing with a ton of backlash 👎), but now he’s second-guessing everything again. He wants it to be "his suggestion" after all. 🙄
I think the negative feedback from his family and a few "friends" really got to him... 👎
So now we have a deal: he can have "his" name if he stays by my side in the delivery room from start to finish (unless they kick him out or the whole thing falls apart 🙄). Up until now, he refused to even consider coming with me.
There was no way I was agreeing to anything unless "his" name was fine too (Frank), but honestly, I doubt he'll actually show up. Once the drama starts, he'll be out the door running 😁 At the end of the day, there's a 99% chance I'm having a girl, but this constant indecision and breaking of our agreements is driving me insane. 🙂
So, I just called this private lab here in New York City. Same old routine—show up fasting for the first draw, drink the glucose, then they pull blood again at 60 minutes, and a third time after 120 minutes. The upside is their waiting room chairs are actually comfortable (had used them before for a beta test) and there’s zero crowd. You might see two or three people hanging around for a few minutes max, but that's it.👍 The downside:$43 👎
Honestly, I’ll probably just pay the extra fee. At least I'll be comfortable and won't catch some random disease like I did at the FBI office last time. There were easily 100 people crammed into that tiny space when I went in for urine and blood work. No room to breathe, let alone sit down.😲 😠
It just ticked me off hearing that after my glucose test, I have to sit in a waiting room for two and a half hours before they draw blood again. 😲
They claim I have to stay still and can't even go home, but they clearly don't care that I'll be stuck there surrounded by a bunch of sick people with the flu and whatever else. They couldn't care less!!! 😠😠
MM, his mom, and my mom all got on my last nerve today. 😠
We’re just sitting around talking when the baby topic comes up. I casually mention I’ve been looking into things—crunching numbers, figuring out what we need to buy, seeing what we can borrow, or who we can ask to get us some cute little outfits... stuff like that.
And then they hit me with it: "Why are you even looking at that? There's still plenty of time, and who knows what might happen?" 😲 Apparently, it's some "bad omen" to look too early, let alone actually buying stuff ahead of time. 🙄 (Just out of pure spite, I spent the whole evening on my laptop and already dropped $45 on some baby clothes from eBay. 😛) 🙂Seriously, they better watch it. Once these pregnancy hormones kick in, they won't know what hit them.
To top it off, they started grilling me about what the baby's name is going to be. I gave them an answer and everyone basically spat on me—my family was vocal about it, and his side just gave me that judgmental silence. 🙄 Even that idiot MM didn't back me up, since the name was my choice and not his (but we finally agreed on it a week ago, so there's no changing it now! 🙂)!
It drives me absolutely insane how many people keep asking what I’m going to do with my pets—my dog and cat who live in the apartment with us—now that I’m pregnant and once the baby arrives.😠 😲
Everyone thinks they’re such an expert, acting like I need to get rid of them immediately because they’ll definitely pass some disease to me or the baby during pregnancy, or heaven forbid, eat the kid once they're born.🙄
I tell everyone straight up: they aren't going anywhere. They were here before the baby, and they're staying. We struggled for years to even conceive, going through endless failed treatments where my pets were honestly my biggest source of comfort and joy (no matter how weird that sounds to outsiders), and now people think I should just dump them because a "better replacement" is on the way? They're regularly treated for parasites, they get everything they need, and we love them like our own kids. Honestly, being this early in my pregnancy, it’s hard to even wrap my head around the idea that I'll love a human baby just as much, if not more.
Since I have to be on strict bed rest due to a hematoma, my girl is actually staying with family back in the Midwest right now. It’s just better for her there since she isn't stuck in an apartment for ten hours a day without a walk while my husband is at work. Plus, she loves the company of the other dog there.
Then yesterday, this "friend" drops by and immediately plays the villain, saying, "See, I told you that you'd have to get rid of the dog once you got pregnant." This total jerk wouldn't even listen to my explanation; she just kept repeating how she knew it would end this way and that I was "smart" to finally come to my senses. :asshole:
