And tell me, have you already brought a product into some stage of development?

If I’m following your train of thought correctly, you’ve got the vision, but what you actually need is a heavy hitter to execute it and a solid stream of capital to make it happen.

How realistic is this scenario, really?

Does anyone have any insight into why silver prices have suddenly spiked over the last day or two?

Chris Williams said:You would have chosen a partner if you weren't so terrified of losing that penthouse, but you simply won't. I suppose you have these existential anxieties about being able to provide for a family, and it seems your parents are keeping you under their thumb. If you were mine and were being controlled by your parents—if staying safe mattered more to you than standing by me and our child—I would leave you without a second thought. It all points to the same thing: regardless of your age, you haven't actually grown up. Mentally, you're still just a child.

So, Mom is going to be hurt... well, let her be, she earned it. She isn't thinking about you; if she actually were, she’d be helping you get on your feet. She would want to love your child, her own grandchild, and wish nothing but the best for that little life that is a part of you. She would do everything to make you independent so you could finally break free from her shadow. Instead of giving you wings or offering that penthouse rent-free without meddling in your business, you're essentially cutting your own legs off so you can't escape her, letting her manipulate you with old grievances that she claims are your fault. It's a way of emasculating you and keeping you infantile. It’s selfish, egocentric, and frankly, twisted.

There isn't much to contemplate here; at first glance, it is perfectly clear which decision is wise, which decision the heart would dictate, and what is human versus what is cowardly and selfish on your part. In your case, even considering suicide feels like an act of cowardice and selfishness. You find things so difficult... poor you... it's just easier for you to stay with them. Man, you don't seem to give a single thought to how your wife feels, or to that child, or to how those two will manage alone without a man there to protect and care for them.

I agree..

Let them move out of that attic and try living on a single paycheck... just the three of them...
It is vital to have principles, because once you have those, you actually have some dignity.

Wake up... life isn't just about having a backbone; it's about paying the bills, feeding a child, and so on...

Furthermore, if his wife is just as demanding and controlling as his parents, then he doesn't really have a choice at all, because neither path leads to a good outcome..
As long as there’s food on the table, a drink in hand, and a roof over his head, he’ll think everything is just fine...
Once those basic necessities start slipping away, maybe then he'll actually feel the need to pull himself together..

It’s much easier to obsess over conspiracy theories about lizard people than it is to actually step up, take charge of his own life, and accept some personal responsibility... It’s a convenient way to blame some external demon for every single failure... quite literally 🙄

I would welcome some insight from the experts in this group 😉

The core issue isn't actually how you view your parents, but rather how you perceive yourself...
It is through our relationship with our parents that we build our foundational sense of self-worth, and in your case, you were handed a fundamentally flawed blueprint...
The moment you learn to embrace who you truly are—flaws, strengths, and all—is the moment you gain the capacity to properly heal those old wounds. It’s about realizing that if an event from twenty years ago still stings today, there is a valid reason for that pain. You have to understand that making mistakes isn't a failure of character; after all, we are all prone to error...
