Based on how you’ve described this relationship—it's pretty clear you're the common denominator here. You listened to outside noise instead of trusting your partner, triggered the breakup yourself, and now you're still causing him grief.
Kudos to you—I honestly don't think I could do it. Perhaps it's because my own health isn't exactly where it should be.
I'm genuinely concerned that his struggles will eventually consume you—wrecking your life and, by extension, the lives of your children.
It feels like you’re carrying this guilt, thinking that having them with you leaves no room for him. Don't fall into that trap. You cannot shoulder all of his burdens. Your priority has to be YOU—then your kids—and only then can you worry about him.
By the first crisis, you're already losing your grip and reaching for the Tylenol. If you keep this up, you'll end up just as broken as he is.

Exactly.
🙂 🙂
Is there really nothing better to do than obsess over this years later?

I had an ANA test done, and just like yours, it came back positive. Now I’m just waiting on the results for the other antibodies—the ENA panel and such.
However, my immunologist claims that regardless of the Hashimoto's, the ANA shouldn't be positive unless there's some other systemic issue at play.🤷...
Essentially, according to him, the thyroid and the ANA are two completely separate tracks—(though I'm praying he's wrong).
Thanks for getting back to me. It seems we've been given entirely different sets of information.
I have an appointment with my doctor in two weeks, so we'll see where things go from there.
Maria Fisher46 said:Dear Michelle Murphy61,
Looking at these results, all we can see is that the ANA is clearly positive via the IIF test—though they didn't specify the titer (it’s obviously higher than 1:100, but the exact level is missing).
It's interesting that the ENA panel—which we run when ANA comes back positive to pinpoint exactly which antibodies are elevated—is negative.
A positive ANA on its own, without any clinical symptoms, doesn't tell us much.
Low ANA titers can pop up even in perfectly healthy people with zero underlying issues.
Additionally, certain medications can trigger a positive ANA result.
Then there are specific conditions where only one organ might be affected—like autoimmune thyroid issues (I mention this because I recall you mentioning thyroid concerns before)—or it could point toward systemic connective tissue diseases.
So, it really can be an "all or nothing" situation.
Best regards. 🙂
Thanks—my doctor also mentioned that because of my Hashimoto's, I should expect a positive ANA test.

Could you please transcribe the entire report?
A lot depends on the specific lab's reference ranges—some set the cutoff at 1:80, others at 1:100—and this one isn't entirely clear (if the titer is under 1:100, it might be a low positive, or even considered negative depending on the facility), so just double-check that everything was copied over correctly.
Yes, you're right—I miscopied it.
Here is a photo of the full report. Thanks! 🙂

Hello,
I would appreciate some insight regarding these lab results:
ANA (ENA) IIF homogeneous < 1:100
😳
Everything else came back negative.
I couldn't agree more with what Fulgozi posted.

My house is currently drowning in piles of paper where only one side actually got used; there is absolutely no way I'm tossing that stuff into the recycling until I've squeezed every last bit of utility out of it first. 🤦 I mean, I honestly think it’s a pretty solid move, you know? Not that it really has anything to do with what we were just talking about a second ago, though... just a random thought popping into my head.
Hey, so I think someone mentioned coercion earlier... could you guys maybe give me a little more context? Like, don't just drop a random term and leave it at that, I'm totally lost lol. Give me the full scoop! 😁
Just Google "Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder"
Sometimes my garden gets the better of me.
It’s that feeling where I pull a weed or snip a stray flower and immediately feel a pang of guilt:
"Did I just kill that because it wasn't quite pretty enough or useful enough?"
😢
As for computers—I have a rather complicated relationship there.
The night before my laptop was stolen, I actually dreamed that someone had snatched away my "best friend."
Correlation does not equal causation.
A shortness of breath might stem from anything—bronchial issues, lung function, cardiac concerns, even thyroid irregularities—and so on.
See a doctor. 😍

I remember fighting back, but I was under the influence of alcohol and he was just way stronger than I was. I guess it doesn't really matter if he was 15 or 35 if I didn't want any contact with him at all. It’s not exactly the same thing to hook up with someone versus being forced into sex, is it? 🤷
I’m seeing a psychiatrist, but I just can't bring myself to talk to her about this. I tried opening up to one person once, but they just spat on me and told me it was totally normal, that I actually wanted it all along. So, I guess that's why I'm posting here anonymously.
Of course you aren't to blame—and there is absolutely no reason to feel shame.
Try opening up to your doctor. To a mental health professional, this isn't some strange or unheard-of occurrence. You have nothing to hide from them. If you let them in, they can actually help you.

Fair enough. In that case, let's go with all 5. 😁
Michelle Jones61 said:So, I finally saw my doctor—apparently, it’s just some tiny capillary that burst between two nail plates? Or something like that—I can't quite put my finger on the technicalities. She insists it isn't dangerous; we just need to see if it clears up as the nail grows out. If not, she wants me to get a biopsy—just a little scraping, as she puts it—to get a proper reading. 🤷 Honestly, after everything I've read online, I've officially sworn off "Dr. Google"—it just sends me into a total tailspin!
No matter what you search for, the internet immediately jumps to cancer or some other catastrophe.
It doesn't really matter now; we'll just wait and see...
She prescribed Perfectil for a month and suggested almond oil for massages since my nails are currently a brittle mess. Anyway, sending love to everyone! :*
Why not head to a dermatologist? They generally have more specialized insight than a general practitioner.
Michelle Jones61 said:I'm not from Washington, D.C., but fine—I'll listen to you all and head to the doctor today. 😉 It feels a bit strange—though harmless, I suppose. I’ve been doing my own research online and seen just about everything... I don't know... what could it even be? To me, it seems benign enough, hmm. Alright, fine. You've convinced me. Cheers!
Lay it all out for her—everything you've read. Just don't mention you found it on some random website, because doctors absolutely loathe that.
Simply bring up specific symptoms or concerns you've encountered—doctors have a tendency to downplay things. If necessary, tell her a doctor friend or neighbor mentioned it to you—just play the part.

Honestly—I don't think we need a specialist here—because calling for an intervention over something this trivial would be nothing short of ridiculous, wouldn't it? Best, Sarajka😉
Good grief, what a piece of advice. This is infuriating 🙄
Michelle Jones61, go see a doctor
You’re just fishing for attention—I know your type. 😳
Now comes the ban; we don't allow that kind of talk here. 🙄
Operating on pure philosophy, are we? 😁
Or perhaps you’re just hunting for a new muse to worship.
