GPU driver update causing slow boot issues in IT Support ·
So, did you actually pull it off or what? 🙂

Sandra White10 said:@Kimberly Gomez34: That’s not the issue. The Firmware is completely up to date.

@mistycrane19: Look, this is a business-class machine. Honestly, if you had gone with a different model from Dell instead, you probably would have been even worse off—especially considering you spent the exact same amount of money. It isn't a total disaster, really; it's just that having dual graphics like this is practically an invitation for trouble...

Not bad?

- We have an i3 at home, and it's significantly faster. Honestly, this thing costs a fortune... and that's if 🙂

I’ve got that same laptop too... I've had it for a few months now, and honestly, this piece of junk has never worked right.

...Since I'm not in the US, getting it to a repair shop is a massive headache, but I know a guy who works at Microsoft and he tried fixing it. Nothing.

I’ve reinstalled Windows about ten times already. It runs fine for an hour or two, then everything goes right back to being broken.

-An IT specialist who looked at it told me the two graphics cards aren't synced up, so the stronger one doesn't kick in when it should... whatever that actually means.

I'm heading over to Best Buy in a few days just to throw it at someone's head.

-It's an i5, yet somehow it performs worse than an i3.

If anyone is looking for advice on how to intelligently spend $500, let me know—I can give you a recommendation for a computer based on my misery. This never ends.
It all sounds flashy, but I couldn't care less about cables. Give me a wireless setup any day—I want to skip the clutter and the extra HDMI mess entirely.
I think I might give that a shot today... how did you manage to connect the receiver to the TV and still get the signal from the laptop?

-It’s a mess. I’ve got interference between my laptop and the receiver just because of that audio device. 🤷
My mistake, the TV is a Samsung 32-inch TV... It’s hardly cutting-edge tech, but it does have most of what you actually need these days.
The laptop's a Dell ProBook 450, and the receiver is a Samsung Receiver.

Hi, I'm looking for a device to bridge my PC and TV for video, while also hooking up to a receiver for audio...

Right now, I'm dealing with two separate setups, and honestly, the cable mess is driving me insane. I'm using wireless for the sound, but the constant hassle of getting it to pair is just a massive pain. It’s far from practical...

I've been browsing eBay, but I'm totally lost. I really don't want to throw $150 at some random piece of junk that I don't even understand...

Any advice would be appreciated. 🙂

That’s exactly my point. Look, if you try to quit (assuming you survive), you're going to face some nasty issues...

I'll skip that whole chapter. I'd rather die than go through it again.

It’s the blue one, 10mg if I recall correctly... so you're already pretty much blind to its effects. Enjoy the thrill of nothing happening. 😉

Kenneth Scott41 said:My fellow forum members... I’m having a really difficult time lately. These suicidal thoughts just won't stop coming, but I'm honestly terrified of heading to the psychiatric ward. I've been admitted for this exact reason far too many times before, and I just can't face the idea of them putting me in one of those straightjackets and forcing me to stay on the unit against my will.🙂🤷 I feel completely lost. To make matters worse, I have to wait at least a month and a half just to get an appointment with my therapist! 😢

Don't be an idiot. Go get help...

Justin Rogers5 said:I'm stuck working night shifts constantly. I get maybe seven hours to eat and crash before I have to head right back into work.🤷Basically, I need something that knocks me out instantly, but if I walked into my doctor's office asking for that, they’d laugh me out the door. I just need sleep. I'm on edge, irritable, and honestly, a danger to everyone around me.🤣I don't know what's wrong with me. I spend all afternoon working, then when I finally sit down to watch some soap opera, I'll pass out for an hour and that's it—then I'm just tossing and turning all night when I really need to be solid.🤷I was going to pick up some Xanax at the pharmacy today (the ladies there always look out for me, usually letting me leave with $100 less than the full price)

There's your issue right there. Don't nap in the afternoon if you don't want to spend all night tossing and turning...

I'm suffering from the exact same thing.

Kenneth Scott41 said:Has anyone else ever dealt with a sister who refuses to hand over a new dose of normabel or some other medication? She just tells me, "You still have 19 days left, I can't give you more," which is just typical. 😳
I mean, I don't strictly follow the prescription every single day—sometimes I take a bit more than what's listed, and honestly, I don't see it being much of an issue. But I feel like I can't function without my normabel, and she’s just standing there blocking me... I swear, sometimes I get so incredibly frustrated I feel like I might actually snap at her just out of sheer nerves.🙂

Your tolerance has clearly spiked. Honestly, it sounds like she’s doing you a favor by not letting you spiral further... 😉

EDIT: Just realized you burned through a whole month's worth of meds in about 11 days... lovely.

I’ve been on Lexapro for over five years now. No libido issues to report, and since I don't touch alcohol, I can't speak to how that combination hits. I haven't dealt with any skin issues from the medication either...

But if I'm totally stuck now...😬

Kenneth Scott41 said:I suppose people might think we're just trying to scare him, but I think you laid it out quite clearly. I went through detox for Xanax and methadone at a clinic over in Chicago, and the specialist there told me personally that the Xanax dependency can actually be even more brutal than the methadone one. Ugh, I can't really keep typing; it's my fourth day without methadone, I'm shaking uncontrollably, and it's summer outside.
But don't worry about me, I'm a lost cause. 🙂

Fair point. I don't think it's quite the same when a disease takes hold versus someone just messing around with heroin until addiction becomes inevitable...

Hang in there, man. 👍
I really hope there isn't a relapse.

Is Scart that idiot?
-If he is, I don't see any point in even having a guy like that around...

Larry Lewis said:Zelnorm didn't sit right with me either, though I'm not losing sleep over the withdrawal part. I'm feeling pretty stable now, so I've stopped obsessing over the exact milligram counts—but if things get to the point where we have to scale back, I trust my doctor to manage the transition and make sure the process isn't too brutal.

Interesting perspective...
Don't be so quick to believe that; reality is a much harsher pill to swallow...

Personally, I’ve been struggling through a full-blown addiction myself—it's a mess. What I can tell you is that your doctor is only there once every couple of weeks. What happens during those long stretches when you're stuck alone with your own head and the withdrawals?
-Believe me, it's a hellish road. It was so brutal that after I finally kicked my Oxycodone habit, the memory of it is burned so deep into my brain that I wouldn't dream of touching them again. I used to feel like jumping in front of a semi-truck just to make it stop. I'm not even exaggerating here.

Watched it today. Honestly? I don't know. It wasn't like the first two... definitely not the third one.

They really ought to ban Sanval by law. I followed the instructions perfectly, taking it right before bed, but then I wake up to find out I actually wandered into a Shell station wearing my pajamas... there's so much more, honestly. I'm still so embarrassed thinking about those moments. I never had anything like that happen when I used Ambien.

Sanval messed me up too. I missed my bedroom door entirely and headed straight for the patio doors instead. I actually managed to slice my arm open on the glass, then ended up running to my neighbors in just my boxers, terrified. My family was home, but our house is huge so they didn't hear a thing. Honestly, I have zero memory of the whole mess... just a chaotic trip to the ER.🤦
