I’m asking because we’re running a bit behind on our down payment and the initial invoice.
Does the bank typically send out a formal warning first, or do they just freeze the account without any notice?
I’m honestly not sure how the process works these days; we’ve always been perfectly on time with our payments in the past.
There seems to be so much conflicting info out there regarding whether you get a grace period or if they just pull the plug immediately...
Just trying to get my bearings here... thanks.

Just wipe that Java version off your machine and roll back to the previous one.
You can find the instructions on the fine.com page regarding how to tweak the Explorer menu and adjust your Java settings in the Control Panel.
Once you're done, run a signature test; it’ll give you a definitive answer on whether the system is actually configured correctly or if you're just spinning your wheels.
I went through this entire setup yesterday—everything was perfectly tuned, and even customer support confirmed it was good to go—only to be blocked because their entire server crashed right when I tried to hit send.
Good luck.

It’s like they don't even have a clue themselves....
I was actually at the Deloitte office at 2:55 PM to get this submitted,
and Sefica personally took the report from me, making it very clear that the deadline hasn't been extended.
The truth is, I should have just turned this in ten days ago while the systems were actually working!
Instead, I’ve wasted three whole days on this nonsense, and now all I can see when I close my eyes is endless loops of Java code and loading icons....!

Honestly, I’m at a total loss here. I really don't know what my next move should be...

Just got off the phone with support,
The Srusen server is acting up again,
And the lady on the line suggested I just try again in thirty minutes if I can't get everything settled and paid for through the portal $77.
They didn't extend the deadline—or at least, that's what she claims.

How long is it hanging on that loading screen for you guys?
I'm trying to push these credentials through...
The signature test cleared, but it's just sitting there spinning indefinitely.

So, after hitting a complete dead end with Explorer,
I tried following the manual to the letter and installed Opera. I went through every single setting adjustment exactly as instructed, step by step, but once again... nothing.
I select the certificate, enter the PIN, successfully log in, submit the GFI report along with the supporting documents, handle the signature and processing, hit continue, then run...
And that’s where it stalls. It just spins indefinitely in a loop, and I’m right back where I started. Nothing works.

I followed every single instruction to the letter, tweaking the Excel and Java files within the control panel exactly as I was told.
Now, even the test signature is acting up and won't validate.

If all else fails—if I can't get this sorted by tomorrow—I can still just hand everything in to the finance department along with the payment, right?$77 Is that how this works?

It’s honestly pathetic,
now even the basic tests aren't passing...
I don't even know anymore...

Henry Edwards33 said:I ran into this exact headache with the latest version of Java. If you roll it back to an older version, the error disappears.
The catch is that once you go back, everything else breaks—like my banking apps or Intrastat filings—but at least the IRS portal actually works.🤦

Hmm. There was an older version available, but the program kept prompting me to install the newest one (specifically via Excel).
Then Chrome throws this error at me: "The certificate authority that issued this certificate is not trusted."
I ran a diagnostic check first, and according to the system, the computer meets all the technical requirements perfectly...
Everything works right up until the signature stage; I enter the PIN, and then the screen just spins indefinitely...
Well, there's nothing left to do but tinker with it. Maybe if I dig around enough, I'll find something to fix.

Hey, I’m trying to load a GFI-POD through the internal explorer,
plus some plant data and decisions, but it won't let me sign off on anything.
The error message says: "the connection to this website is untrusted"
It gives me the option to either continue or cancel.
Once I hit continue, everything just freezes up... nothing happens at all.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do here?
How to sign up for Medicare in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
You can handle the sign-ups and cancellations through the NOAA portal, but you also have to deal with Medicare too.
Or am I just totally misreading the situation here?

They have a valid tax ID.
The note on the invoice says: VAT is exempt under Article 138, paragraph 1 of EU Directive 2006/112/EC.
How am I supposed to report this amount on my sales tax return?
Should I treat it as an acquisition of services and calculate 25% tax on the total?
And then just list it as both a liability and a credit at the same time?

YES.
Well, just look at what the Canadian firm actually wrote on the invoice for that exact same service they provided on US soil.
They didn't even mention the reverse charge mechanism.

Alright, so I’m noting "reverse charge" on the invoice... do I actually need to cite the specific article or section number?

We were providing construction services over in Canada, handling all the tax obligations accordingly.
We issued the invoice without sales tax, following Section 19 of the IRS code—reverse charge style—and we actually have written confirmation from the local Police Department about it. We didn't need to register anything.
If you look back at some of my older posts, you’ll see I was just as conflicted as you are.🙂
As for the employees, I can't say for sure, but since we're right near the border, the guys were commuting every single day. All I know is that I calculate specific travel contributions if I'm sending people to non-EU countries; maybe they just used their European health insurance cards... I'm just guessing here.

Thanks for getting back to me. Since we're close to the border, my crew would be commuting daily too, so if they're traveling about 20 miles from the home office, I'll be paying out travel reimbursements.
So, basically: no sales tax, no need to register for VAT in Canada,
and no extra insurance overhead.
Did you actually run this by your contact at the Police Department and get it in writing, or is it just hearsay?

Hey there,
I’ve got an invoice from a vendor in Canada for services performed right here in the US, and they’ve included their tax ID.
The note on the invoice says this:
VAT exempt per Section 1.46 of the local tax code or Article 138 of Directive 2006/112/EC.
So, how am I supposed to handle this on my sales tax return?
Do I treat it as a service acquisition where I calculate 25% sales tax based on the invoice total, then report that amount as both a liability and a credit at the same time?
