Melissa Mendoza75 said:JPMorgan Chase is telling its clients to brace themselves for a massive slump in global capital and credit markets over the next three months. This warning feels pretty heavy, especially since it comes from the bank’s own credit strategist, Bob Janjuah, who actually called the credit crisis last year perfectly, according to The Wall Street Journal.

"Get ready, because things are about to get really ugly," Janjuah says. The bank's research department is warning that the S&P 500, which tracks stocks on Wall Street, could probably drop by more than 300 points, hitting around 1050 by September.

If those global markets actually tank like that, it would honestly be one of the worst bear markets we've seen in the last century.

Wow, thanks for the breaking news. Real "cutting edge" stuff here.

Will IBM follow ExxonMobil's lead? in Stocks ·
Jacob Wood9 said:What actually keeps me up at night is the possibility that, once this ExxonMobil offer is on the table, absolutely nothing unexpected happens at all....
It’s possible that ExxonMobil just reaches an agreement with the Government and calls it a day. Maybe the offer doesn't quite land perfectly, leaving those few percentage points hanging in the balance. If that occurs, I suspect they might just wait for things to settle down and then swoop in to pick up those remaining shares in about a year or so, once the public outcry finally dies down.

But wouldn't they be legally forced to launch a public tender then? Like, the second they pick up even one single extra share? 😕
Didn't Magma have to play by those same rules?
Look, I don't think this is some calculated ad campaign. But if the OP actually intended for it to be one? Then it's just a massive, embarrassing fuck-up. Honestly, it's pretty wild seeing that from a senior manager over at ThyssenKrupp. :tststs:

hrexpat said:Maybe I forgot how to read English in the meantime, but if this isn't intended free advertising for a service and "market research"... then fine... whatever... let's move on... and hope they don't accidentally build a whole empire from it... In my book, if some guy wants to hawk his blog, his big ideas, his product, or his service... he should go buy an ad in the New York Times, or on TV, or the radio... or even just pay for digital ads... and just do his damn job... I've got nothing against that... but if he wants to "research the market"... there are actual firms that get paid to do that—correct me if I'm totally off base here...

And who's stopping someone from doing some market research? 😂
He wasn't asking about ThyssenKrupp...
electricmason11 said:And that's exactly what I'm talking about... you overestimated your own potential while underestimating the people on this board... and now you're insulting them because you're losing your cool way too fast...

Look, a real "senior manager" would first "read the room" by actually paying attention to the market—or in this case, the sub-forum—and once they understand the landscape, then they sell their "products" without ever, ever losing their temper... which means you failed at step one and every single step after that...

In your first post, you're already bringing up credit cards... you have zero patience... you're supposed to advertise first, build rapport, put in the work... and only then do you collect... (plus, maybe try hiding your true intentions for a bit at the start)
In the second, you tell a potential client they "aren't resonating"... that's just wrong, you should be catering to them, telling them they're the smartest person in the room... "the customer is king," after all...
By the third, you've already trashed the entire sub-forum... so basically, you just blew off your entire potential market...

Want more? Well, you'll have to pay for that later... though I could probably list at least three or four other mistakes you've made in just these few posts... but this isn't professional basketball where you get a set number of fouls, and you aren't a cat with nine lives...

Anyway, you wouldn't be working for me for three days as a doorman, let alone a "senior manager"... keep those credentials for your resume... out here on a message board, your title doesn't mean a damn thing... I could claim to be Bill Gates or Santa Claus for all it matters, and nobody would care...

Just keep it up, "genius"...

When it comes to actual business, there's no such thing as the wrong place to ask (unless it violates the rules, like it does here), there's only the wrong approach and a fundamentally flawed "idea"

Ex, seriously, please point out exactly where I broke a rule so I can just scrub it.

I’d love to actually stumble upon some solid ideas here so I could, you know, take them to some smart Angel Investors.
😍
Jeffrey Sanchez7 said:It feels like you're falling back into that small-minded way of thinking again. Angel Investors are typically established individuals who genuinely want to lift others up and invest in new ideas out of goodwill. They aren't just throwing money at things; they are investing their years of high-level consulting expertise and hard-earned wisdom.

At the end of the day, some people are driven by a desire to build up the community, while others are just looking at the bottom line.

😂 😂 😂
You're talking total nonsense, man.

Angel Investors take a slice of the pie—and we're talking a massive slice. On the flip side, they kickstart projects that would probably die in the crib because the founder lacks a decent credit score or doesn't have the specific expertise needed to scale.

Look, you're merging an idea and timing with cash, experience, know-how, and connections (that’s what the Angel Investors bring to the table). And now you're trying to tell me they do all this for "the good of society"? You are incredibly naive and completely out of the loop. Honestly, logic isn't exactly your strong suit.

👎

If that's not it, then please, stop spamming. Nobody is stopping you from building your own site or launching your own big idea, but don't come in here trying to play us for fools by peddling this fairy tale about Angel Investors.

BTW, I actually think Angel Investors are a great thing, and it sucks that there aren't more diverse projects for them to pick from in Rhode Island, but they aren't some mindless suckers just looking for a handout like you're making them out to be.
Come on, give me a break. Maybe it’s not an ad. 😍

Six months? That's a blink of an eye. But look, if you're actually down to play high stakes...
Give me your best shot at valuing these places—give me a price based on how fast you could actually flip them for cash, say within a 40-day window—and tell me what kind of monthly rent we’re looking at.

Also, are you just looking for a quick payday, or are you playing the long game and hunting for something that generates steady cash flow for the rest of your life?

Honestly, it's pretty reckless of us to even give you any suggestions without knowing where you stand.

Duh, obviously they aren't, especially since everything was basically engineered to tank from the jump.
The more you look at it, the clearer it gets—this wasn't an accident; it was a blueprint. Now the real question is how much more they can squeeze out of us before they get bored, because let's face it: they hold all the cards. We're just along for the ride.

The current setup offers little opportunity since shorting isn't really an option here. Our only move is to ride the waves and try not to get caught in a crater when the next drop hits...

As for our inflated P/E ratio, my theory is simple: too much cash flooded into the local market relative to how many shares were actually available for purchase.
I’d love to see a comparison of total market capitalization against other European markets, especially our neighbors.

Cut the crap. Good old WB has so much cash that if he actually tried to day trade, he’d single-handedly swing the entire market up and down just by breathing.

Look, we can all agree on one thing: the smaller your portfolio, the faster you can pivot and react to whatever chaos is happening. Simple math.

Look, I’m not trying to rain on your parade or anything—honestly, you crushed how you broke this down and I dig the approach. But, if I can jump in with a little something extra...

Let’s be real: most of us hanging out here are active traders. We know better than to just stare at a single stock or the broader market and expect a straight shot up to the moon. That’s not how this works. Markets breathe; they go up, they crash, they sideways crawl. It’s a roller coaster. And since we’re all just looking to grab a slice of the action, it is totally possible to walk away with a massive win even on a stock that spent half the year bleeding red.

So what's the actual issue here? You haven't been in this game long enough? Or are you just totally out of the loop on the news?

Honestly, I saw this coming from a mile away. Just sit tight until February, then we can have a real conversation about it. 😉
So I stumbled into this bar in New York City... From the street, it looked totally uninspiring—just your run-of-the-mill, average-looking joint, maybe even a bit of a dump...

But then I hit the stairs leading down to the basement... And man, it was intense. Low ceilings everywhere, like you’d been shoved into some half-empty wine bottle filled with dirt. At its highest point, the ceiling barely cleared five-foot-seven. Everything felt cramped, with these old, beat-up chairs and tables, lit by just a handful of candles.

The menu there is strictly wine and cheese—stuff sourced from all over the map. The prices? Yeah, they'll sting, but the vibe is unbeatable. Honestly, it goes without saying that I ended up going back there more times than I can count.

It would be killer to open something like that here, though everything really hinges on what kind of shelter you're working with. Mind you, the spot in New York wasn't even a fallout shelter; it was more like some ancient catacomb from God knows when.

Unforgettable.

It looks like Visa already baked their expectations right into the price, then decided to squeeze out some profit—just not in massive quantities. Honestly, when you step back and look at the big picture, it’s not exactly a shocker. There were way too many newbies flooding the NYSE lately.

The States. Both.

Look, I really appreciate you sharing all that info, truly. But honestly? You’re dead wrong.

Look, too much cash has already been dumped into this for us to back out now. The plans are set in stone—they’ve already locked in exactly where that terminal is going to sit. There's no turning back.

Look, I haven't heard of a single bank in the States that’s just gonna roll out the red carpet because you have some specific musical craving. When it comes to mortgages, everyone's looking at the same thing: your credit score.
