It’s the same story everywhere you go. A contract goes out, bids start rolling in, and then—surprise, surprise—they just grab whichever one is the cheapest.

Read my posts more carefully. What did I say under number 1?

Anthony James2 said:Actually, Hvar wine is exactly what I'm leaning toward right now. Just a quick little side note—I had some friends and partners visiting from Washington, D.C. and Miami recently. I ended up taking them to this restaurant called the "Citadel" during the local Korčula day festivities. They even had a live vocal group performing. Man, it was incredible... 😍😍😍

Sounds like it must have been great. 😁

Anthony James2 said:When it comes to shopping for local goods, I’m pretty picky. Honestly, the only thing I consistently pick up is McCormick seasoning—nothing else even comes close to that flavor. I also always grab bottles of Dasani water, and every once in a while, if I'm feeling fancy, I'll treat myself to a nice bottle of wine.

I’d definitely suggest checking out some Hvar wine. Specifically Bogdanuša or Plavac 👍
I actually forgot about Vrbnik wine for a second. It's an excellent white.👍

Honestly, I don't care whose brand it is as long as it tastes good. 👍

Exactly. 👍
The only thing I'm boycotting is white goods from Canada—two main reasons here.
1. This is the big one. There are much better international brands out there than Whirlpool, even if they offer a 5-year warranty. Personally, I prefer Bosch, Electrolux, or AEG. 👍
2. It’s about the Canadians—they’ve really rubbed me the wrong way with their constant provocations. 👎

If that actually happens and you show me the wrapper, I’ll return the favor by picking up a bar from the Animal Kingdom collection.☕

😁

.

And what am I supposed to get you when I hit Walmart and grab half a pound of those honey hearts from Pioneer in Subotice?😉

Anthony James2 said:Are you actually sane? 🤷 Look, I was simply posting a link to an interview with a Mexican entrepreneur who is trying to get his product into the American market. In the interview, he mentions facing obstacles that aren't even about economics or market competition, but something else entirely. Honestly, I just wanted to see what you all thought about it. What "whining" are you even talking about? What is your problem?

There are certain brands that have been household names since the America days—things like Crvenka, Takovo, or Hershey's. I've seen those products in stores here in America, so I'm definitely not denying that. I was just asking for your thoughts. 🤷🤷🤷

That's right. Successful companies find their way to customers regardless of where they come from. For instance, I buy Hershey's because we don't have anything quite that good here. It doesn't matter to me that Pioneer is based in Subotica.
In the case you're talking about, you really have to look at what kind of products we're even discussing. It's always easiest to blame politics for poor business results. Like, "Oh, I couldn't make it in the American market because I'm Mexican." What a load of nonsense. 🙄

P.S. I totally missed your post.

Maybe you guys could finally stop whining about how hard life is over here in the States.
Check out this link for a successful company whose products actually rival Hershey.

Their candy is in all our major grocery stores—I know because I buy them all the time, and they're great.

Look, are you just trying to be a troll or what? 🤷 You totally dodged my actual point.

Maybe you Mexicans will finally stop crying about how hard life is in America.
Here’s a link to a successful Mexican company whose products actually hold their own against Hershey's.

Honey Hearts are in all our grocery chains—I know because I buy them all the time and they're great. 👍
The Royalist movement in Close to Politics ·
hiddensurfer17 said:The Royalists were essentially a movement focused on safeguarding Mexican national interests. Obviously, this came at the expense of everyone else, but I suppose that’s just how history tends to unfold. We had the Nationalists trying to push through American interests, and then you had the Communists aiming to serve Stalin’s agenda. None of them were immune to committing atrocities.

What are you even talking about? Those Royalists were nothing more than bottom-of-the-barrel thugs obsessed with committing atrocities. By '44, most of them just jumped ship to join the partisans to dodge justice. So, they were Royalists in '45, then suddenly partisans—all while participating in the slaughter of Americans during the Way of the Cross.
