Spring blues or just feeling unmotivated?
in Psychology & Therapy ·
I can't believe I'm actually posting here. 🤣
Just a month ago, I was practically vibrating with energy and euphoria. I was bursting with self-confidence, constantly mapping out new schemes in my head, and just feeling incredibly optimistic about everything. I used to wake up genuinely excited for the day ahead.
But since then, it feels like my battery has just been draining away. Nothing significant has actually changed in my life compared to how things were last month, yet my energy levels are nowhere near where they were. I have zero motivation to get anything done, I can't come up with any new plans, and I just don't really care about much of anything anymore. My confidence has flattened out, and I’ve become completely indifferent to the passage of time—it doesn't matter what day it is or when it ends. Waking up in the morning is a struggle because I feel like I'm constantly sleeping, and even basic conversation feels more taxing than it did a few weeks ago. Is this apathy?
To give some context, I absolutely loathe spring and summer—the heat, the sunshine, all of it. I always start feeling significantly better toward the end of October and into November; that's usually when the euphoria starts kicking in again. Could this be some kind of seasonal affective disorder?
