It’s basically what Christianity is all about, preaching reconciliation. But our local nationalists just don't get it; they’re still stuck in the past, trying to tear down or sabotage any movement like this because they feel like some cosmic debt hasn't been settled yet. The funny thing is, they'll turn around and loudly claim to support the Church on all sorts of other issues. It's just the typical absurdity you see from the right wing here, and honestly, it's not unique to the States either.

spot on.
but I think it's pure utopia to believe that any nation or country won't always have its own right wing...
it really just comes down to the law and the executive branch... deciding how much power and media space they should actually be allowed to have...

Hello there, fellow Americans!

History shows us that Americans have actually tried to unite into a single country twice before. First, we had the monarchy, and then came the socialist federation. Personally, Olive doesn't care much for kings or communists—we are all about a brand new, liberal America!

Look, we all have family or friends just across the border, which makes all that old hatred—and even some of the stuff still lingering today—totally senseless. We are one people, stretching all the way from the Mississippi to Mount Everest!

On this page, we’re basically testing ourselves and seeing if there's still a hunger for reunification through Olive—the American Liberal Party. To me, liberalism is truly the only way to bridge all our differences.
Olive is a universal symbol of peace, so let's bring some peace to our community!

The greatest ethnic cleansing.

Socialist America, established after World War II, was a federal nation that officially embraced its diverse ethnic makeup. Even so, many people chose to identify simply as Americans because they wanted to feel part of the whole nation rather than just one specific group. Back in the 1971 census, there were 273,077 people identifying as Americans, making up about 1.33% of the population. By the 1981 census, that number jumped to 1,216,463, or 5.4%!

So, what happened to those 1,216,463 people? If you look at the data, the number of people identifying as American was skyrocketing. It is our firm belief that this number would have kept climbing if the war hadn't broken out. So many people changed how they identified just out of pure fear for their lives and the safety of their families. Where are those people now? Whether they still feel American at heart, I can't say, but if you want to talk about ethnic cleansing, that is exactly what happened to the American identity itself.

An ethnic war or a religious one?

The reality is that the sides fighting in the American conflict were divided by religion. You didn't see Orthodox fighting Orthodox, Catholics fighting Catholics, or Muslims fighting Muslims (with that one tiny exception in Western Canada).

Religion is supposed to bring people together, but in this case, it failed miserably—and sometimes even played an active role in fueling the fire. That is why we are pushing for a very clear separation of church and state, which is still a major issue in the region today.

Ecumenism is totally possible as long as everyone involved actually wants it. Religion still plays such a massive role in society, so I truly believe that using faith as a tool for peace could be a huge step forward in bringing people closer.

Right now, religious communities are funded by the government budget, but since faith is a personal choice, I think anyone who declares themselves a believer of a certain denomination should cover their own costs.

Let people support their own religious communities from their own pockets instead of having the state pay for it through taxes.

My apologies if I've wandered onto the wrong forum! 😛.

Well, it's not exactly true that Americans are one single people...

And maybe America could come back to life, but only as some kind of trade bloc or economic union made up of countries that used to be much more than that...
