The Federal Reserve gives commercial banks the green light to dump a few thousand futures contracts whenever they need to manipulate prices. 😁
It’s pretty typical for all sorts of chaos to break out right before an FOMC meeting. 😁

You're talking about what happened over a few minutes here 😁
but history remembers something else entirely.
Gold prices actually rose more often on Federal Reserve interest-rate hikes than on cuts over the last 30 years...

Absolutely none.

Honestly? I’m just not buying what Yelena is selling—I really don't think she's actually going to hike those interest rates in the third month.☕

Oh, she totally will.
She's gotta hike them—otherwise, if another crisis hits or we slide into a recession, there won't be any room left to cut.😁

Snagged some mux today at $3.28. Honestly, if this thing goes south, so be it.

They pitched me a policy that’s about twenty bucks cheaper than what I had last year with another firm—basically the old Rocky Mountains Insurance crew.

Long-term? Gold is easily one of the smarter plays.

And honestly, I don't see the point in certain people here constantly pushing gold or making regular folks feel like it's some big deal. To most sensible people, gold is just a little something to hold onto for a bit of long-term growth.

The fact that a few guys here obsess over it says more about their cognitive abilities than anything else.

For five years straight, we've had these clowns predicting things and acting like they're geniuses every single day.

If you had asked them eighteen months ago whether it would be worth more today, we all know exactly what they would have said.

That tells you everything you need to know about their "expertise." Like someone else pointed out, they don't actually possess knowledge—they just have faith. When you lack actual data, all you've got left is blind belief. 😁

Bottom line: gold is a lousy short-term play but a solid long-term one. And FYI, everyone in this thread holding physical gold or silver is playing the long game.
From where I'm sitting, you haven't actually said anything intelligent other than venting your negativity about gold's short-term fluctuations.
So, what's your actual expertise here? I'd love to hear it.

So, let me break this down. We’re looking at central banks dumping gold when it was sitting between $275 and $400, only to turn around and start gobbling it back up once it hit the $1,400–$1,800 range. Now that it’s dipped down to $1,100, are they seriously gonna start selling it off again??? 😕

So, here’s the deal on why gold takes a dive whenever Ben starts talking.

As for renting a safe in Canada—specifically in Topeka—NEVER AGAIN, BUT NEVER AGAIN !!!!!
Why?
- Those Canadian types won't even speak American! No way am I handing them my cash. They can forget about it; they can rent their own damn safes.
- You lease a safe for a year, but you have to give them months of notice before the term is even up if you want to cancel.
- They are expensive and incredibly rude. I went to a vault once, and the woman at the counter rolled her eyes faster than a tire spins at a gas station when you're fueling up. Am I supposed to give them money? I'm not crazy!
- They are stingy to a fault. So cheap, in fact, that they probably weigh themselves before and after using the restroom just to calculate the profit versus the loss.
- And look, you don't BUY gold in Canada if we're talking about reliability. There are plenty of options that are cheaper, more dependable, and more professional than some local outfit. But hey, everyone is the boss of their own wallet and their own goods, so buy from whoever you like. The only thing I don't get is your cynical smirk at my comment—what was that for? If you don't want to buy, fine, but don't belittle or mock me just because you don't know the backstory. I was simply trying to help an elderly gentleman. You know how those old folks are? They're fragile, afraid of their own shadows. See? In the end, I didn't make a dime from the sale; I just thought if someone wanted it, they could buy it without having to drive all the way out to Van. If I had posted that as a sales ad, the admin would have banned me IMMEDIATELY!

I actually had a great experience in Cleveland. Everyone spoke perfect American 😉 I even canceled my safe earlier than expected because they told me I could. Not that I'm defending the guy, but he's definitely reliable. I'm sure there are cheaper options out there somewhere. I don't know what's closer to St. Paul (certainly not Austria or Germany

Patrick Moore3 said:Dunno. Personally? I’d happily drop an extra $50 just to know that gold is 100% legit... I'm never buying stuff like that under the table.🤷
...just my two cents, though. You gotta be careful when you're handing over big stacks of cash, no matter what you're buying.

If you actually know your stuff and know exactly what you're getting, you shouldn't have to pay a premium 😉

And while we're on the subject... what kind of actual guarantees is our buddy here giving us regarding that gold he's out here peddling???

Should I even mention where you're planning to dump that?

Look, I'll stash my stuff wherever the hell I want. And honestly? You could take ten ounces of gold and hide it in a literal matchbox if you wanted to. 😉

I used to keep mine tucked away in some small town in the Midwest because I was too paranoid to buy it and smuggle it into the States the same day. Now? All my gold is right here in America. 😉

And let me tell you again—you can find gold in the US at the exact same prices they have over in Austria. Just post a message here on the forum and people will reach out to you.

Sean Carter said:Before you die of laughter, try being as kind as you are clever and actually enlighten us. At what price point would you be buying in the US today? What do you consider a fair market value over here?

I used to buy from those old-school coin shops back in D.C. It felt like dealing with a local pawn shop, but hey, we're living in the 21st century now. You're tech-savvy enough to look up where to buy gold in any major US city—you can even find decent deals on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. If I recall correctly, there are probably two or three guys right here on this forum selling at those old retail prices. They might have even slid into your DMs already.

That's like maybe $20 more per ounce than what you'd find at a place like JPMorgan. 😂 It really would be a shame to let this one slip by. 😂

]But look, the entry point and the exit point—that's the whole game. That’s not just important, it’s everything! If you're talking about any kind of investment, timing your move in and out is absolutely critical.

Honestly? When you're investing, the only thing that actually matters is your entry point. Once you finally wrap your head around why that is, then—and only then—can you actually call yourself an investor. 😉>

Sean Carter said:Unfortunately, my colleague is mistaken; it’s not that it won't go down, it absolutely will. As we saw yesterday, we’re circling the drain. Maybe you finally understand why I'm so pessimistic, or perhaps you need more "proof"? For days the price has been creeping up just to plummet vertically! There is one fundamental difference between us. First and foremost, I invest so that I can make a profit, and if I'm not making money, I at least want to protect what I put in. That's why I see a massive red flag when I'm bleeding 10% in Euros and even more in USD. This is a huge issue for me because I didn't find this cash lying on a sidewalk; I worked my tail off for it. Please, in the future, don't try to tell people whether 10% is a lot or a little of their own money. Anyone with enough sense to be investing today already knows if 10% hits them hard or not.

That's all from me. Wishing everyone a good day and hoping for some green on the charts, though I have my doubts!

Sell your metals, grab some KORF stock, and you'll claw back that 10% in a few days.😉 That’s basically what I did. Granted, I only liquidated one and a half ounces of gold, but hey, a win's a win.🙂

We really need to milk this Bakić guy while we still can.
