I I see where you're coming from there, looking at it through the lens of licensed versus unlicensed businesses.
You really need specific professional credentials for certain types of trades, and if you don't have them, don't even bother trying to set up an LLC!
That’s just how it works with any regulated profession out there...
But honestly, none of that matters to me—when it comes to kids, you can't just run a small solo operation.🤔
Haha 🙂
Now we’re getting somewhere.
I wouldn't be surprised if the folks over at the USGS were already out the door for the holidays 😉... If it didn't clear today, they'll just have to tackle it Wednesday (since tomorrow is another holiday anyway)...
In my experience, you're looking at about one to two business days.
As I understand it, an employee can't even physically walk in there and handle it themselves. Once a company hits more than three employees, the whole process becomes the employer's responsibility to manage online.
Rebecca Miller4 said:Once an employer files a termination through this online portal, how long does Social Security actually take to process that update on their end?
I'm asking because my boss submitted my exit paperwork back on October 31st, and I’m still sitting here waiting for everything to clear with the SSA.
If this wait keeps dragging on forever, can an employee just grab the documents themselves and head down to the local Social Security office to get it sorted out manually?
There’s gotta be some kind of glitch somewhere...
There is absolutely no way they haven't processed a termination in two whole months!
The employer really needs to log back in, check the submission status, and give them a call. Even with the bureaucracy we deal with here in the States, a two-month delay just isn't normal.😬

Does anyone have access to the Social Security administration portal to check this for me?
Thanks.
Code 13 actually stands for
the expiration of an employment contract

As for the business registration itself, I believe there’s some kind of deadline—maybe a month or so—if my memory serves me right. 🤔
I recall some chatter about how you won't be able to run a company without any staff anymore, but has that actually been written into the recent law?
Right now, I manage several businesses that don't have employees. Based on their entire model and why they even exist, they truly don't need them. I honestly have no idea what’s going to happen to those setups once January 1st rolls around...
But hey, we're getting off track here 😁, sorry....

In my experience, they wouldn't let me register the firm without at least one employee on file—specifically the person in charge, which is obviously the director.
So, I ended up having to register both the director and the company, which naturally meant signing up for health insurance as well.
I suspect if you aren't registering a director yet, you might not need to register the company either. But honestly, I'm not entirely sure. 🙂
I follow that logic. That’s exactly why I’m asking about filing regardless of whether there are employees on board.🙂

So, in that scenario, did the director actually have to be an employee?
Hi there!
Could I get a little bit of advice here, please?
Once an LLC is officially registered, the corporation needs to register with both Medicare and the Social Security Administration.
If the business isn't going to have any employees for a while, should they go ahead and register with health and retirement services right away (and I'm talking about the corporation itself!), or should they just wait until they actually hire someone?
That’s pretty much how I was looking at it too, though I figured I should probably double-check first....
Thanks
According to the federal regulations regarding licensed professional services from 2008 (is there a more recent version floating around?), if you want to open a sole proprietorship for accounting or bookkeeping services, you're required to have specific credentials—like an Associate's degree in finance, an administrative specialist certification, or an economics degree.
Can anyone tell me if I can actually launch my own bookkeeping business with just a high school diploma, an Associate's in Economics, and seven years of solid experience in the field? Or am I better off throwing in the towel on the sole proprietorship idea and just forming an LLC instead?
😁 😬And please, don't come at me with that "well, any decent accountant should already know this" line.🙂

How hard can it actually be to slather on some body lotion? Stop kidding me, you're just being lazy!" Or they'll hit me with that classic, "Don't just sit there all day, you need to move more," when I'm definitely not just lounging around, though I'm certainly not out running marathons either 🙄. And don't even get me started on the insomnia comments: "How can you suffer from sleep issues? You probably just stay up too late, no wonder you can't sleep"
. 🙂
I swear, there are days when I genuinely wish I didn't have to see any of them again for the rest of my life 😠
And just wait until you hear the stuff coming from the friends who actually gave birth in the last couple of years. That’s a whole different level of annoying. 😠😠🙄
Being pregnant has honestly been such a drag because I feel even more stuck in place than usual 😂
bogami, once this baby is finally here, I’m hitting the ground running as soon as I'm physically able 😁
Jesse Evans85 said:I’ve started to feel a bit irritated lately—though most people don't even know I'm pregnant yet since I'm not showing—by the fact that absolutely everyone who *does* know seems to have some horror story about childbirth ready to go. Or they pivot immediately to how exhausting life with a newborn is, offering those unsolicited "helpful" tips like, "Oh, you better get all the sleep you can now, because you won't see it again," and so on. It’s just constant. 🙂
Not a single soul has thought to share a beautiful story or a positive perspective with me. Honestly, I can't quite wrap my head around why there's such an overwhelming urge to focus on the negatives!
And this part right here is what really gets under my skin 😠! Honestly, it's only because it's coming from people I actually respect. I don't usually expect these kinds of outbursts from them. If it were just those busybody neighbors who are constantly meddling anyway, I wouldn't even bother listening. 😁

Oh, great. Just what I needed—trekking all the way across town on foot just to pay some bills.
And yeah, sure... I’ve been living off nothing but chocolate the last few days because honestly, it works for me, it works for the baby, and it works for the scale (which isn't budging an inch). Besides, I have to eat through all this birthday loot I got, because once the baby arrives, there's no more treats—we're hitting the gym! Meanwhile, my husband keeps telling me I shouldn't be eating anything at all!!!! And by the way, who finished those three Reese's Cups today? I see the wrappers in the trash.
It’s also starting to get on my nerves how he checks in on me every single time I let out a heavy sigh while bending over to pick something up or just shifting positions. "Are you okay?" he asks. Look, if I wasn't okay, I'd tell him!
Has anyone else found that question getting incredibly annoying over the last few days? 😉?
Douglas Booth22 said:Lately, the only thing truly getting under my skin is insomnia. 🙄
I'll admit, I'm a bit of a rebel here. 😁
I only manage to get decent sleep every other day... 😂... But I am being dead serious.
Sarah Johnson7 said:Alright, here’s a little something to brighten your day (I’m an ex-mom who barely gave up anything during pregnancy, and hey, I have a perfect, gorgeous 2-month-old now):
I was digging through some old stuff at my parents' place and found this book from the 60s called *Pregnancy and Family* or something like that. I’m flipping through it and it actually says pregnant women shouldn't smoke more than two cigarettes a day. 😂 😂
So if that was considered "healthy" fifty years ago, and if women back then stuck to that and still had healthy kids, I'm pretty sure a little Coca-Cola, coffee, or bacon isn't going to kill anyone.
😂 😂
Sarah Adams3 said:So, I stopped taking my birth control pills last month after about eighteen months,
before that my cycles were all over the place, but they finally leveled out once I started the pill.
Last month, we had some unprotected sex right during my fertile window,
and based on my math, I was expecting my period around Friday or maybe Saturday, the 22nd or 23rd.
I took a test on Friday the 22nd, and it came back negative.
I haven't really noticed any pregnancy symptoms or even PMS,
though I did have a bit of nausea about a week and a half after ovulation, but that was it.
So, I guess it’s pretty likely my period will just show up in a few days,
since everything is going back to how it was before I quit the pill. Am I right?
It took me quite a while for my body to get back into its own rhythm after I quit the pill...😉 though, honestly, everyone is different, so don't read too much into my experience. Just hang tight for a few more days and take another test.😉
Every now and then, I get those moments where things just let go, but honestly, it doesn't happen all that often 🙄.... Now, I’m basically built like an elephant, so there's no hiding it 😂...... The hardest part was definitely back when I wasn't even showing yet. I was dealing with constant dizziness and nausea, and you can only really get a pass if you start a fight, because visually, you can't prove you're pregnant 😂🙄
