Stephanie, try keeping a close eye on her and talking about school... if there’s any way to take her by for a visit once she turns 6—maybe for a Christmas pageant or an extracurricular activity arranged with her teacher—do it. Letting her actually experience the school environment firsthand will tell you everything you need to know about how she'll react.
One future student attended our Christmas pageant and was absolutely thrilled with the whole school setup—though, honestly, I have no idea what he heard about it at home since he's the oldest child in the family.
In my experience, it varies wildly; you get kids who start at seven and absolutely loathe school, showing zero interest or work ethic. Then, I have a student who started right at six and a half (born in March) who is doing fantastic; she understands her responsibilities and has developed great study habits already.

rapidrider3, thanks. Honestly, it doesn't matter if I am pregnant... even if it wasn't part of the master plan (and I live for a good plan), it is definitely what I wanted... it just happened early!
I am curious, though—what is the earliest someone can detect a pregnancy on a test? Is it from the day of ovulation, or after fertilization? Does anyone here actually know?
Last night, while listening to U2, I was tempted to grab a beer, but I didn't want to take any chances... now that I have some parties coming up this weekend, I need to decide whether I should be acting like an expectant mother or just a teenager, haha.

I have one question weighing on me: how much time needs to pass after ovulation before a pregnancy test actually shows a positive result?
I am on birth control, and we had sex on July 27th. I missed my pill on July 29th, realized it the next day, took two to make up for it, and didn't have any more sex after that... but since August 6th, I've been dealing with nausea, a weird metallic taste in my mouth, and breast tenderness (which isn't normal for me). It feels almost identical to when I was pregnant the first time. Yesterday, I had some bleeding—not quite a full period, just lighter and weaker—so I took a test (on August 10th), and it came back negative! Even though the symptoms and nausea are definitely there...
Edit: I realize you aren't supposed to ovulate while on the pill, but my best friend missed just one pill during her cycle and ended up pregnant!
