David Johnson said:Elizabeth Chavez33, if you don't mind my asking, how did you realize you were pregnant while on birth control? And which specific brand were you using? 😁

To provide some context, a colleague of mine here at the office went through a remarkably similar ordeal. She remained entirely unaware of her pregnancy until she reached her twelfth week. Because she continued taking her pills, she experienced what she thought was a very light period every twenty-eight days—essentially just a bit of spotting. Since she didn't have any other physical symptoms, she didn't think much of it until her third consecutive "cycle" felt equally unusual, at which point she finally sought advice from her OBGYN.

My period was just a couple of days late—which has never happened to me before—so I took a test and it came back positive. 😍
I was on Yaz 🙂
whereas my sister has been using Loestrin for years and hasn't had a single issue... so yeah, good luck figuring out the logic there. 🤷
Thomas Palmer7 said:okay...now I'm actually getting worried

so tell me, were you actually consistent with the pill or what?

Every single day, at the exact same time, too. I even set an alarm on my phone just to be sure. Look, no form of birth control is ever 100% foolproof. If I were you, I'd pair the pills with something else.🙂

I’m not saying this happens to everyone, but in my case, 😍 happened. I was just too blissfully happy and didn't let the fear of pregnancy get to me—we were in a long-term relationship, living together, blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, I'm starting the pill today, so no more worrying about getting pregnant 😉

That’s exactly what I thought once, and now I have a five-year-old son at home.😍
rapidrider3 said:That was my experience too—I felt some cramping, which usually means something is happening, but you just can't see anything during that second week of pregnancy!!!

Well, great. She said it's something else entirely. Cysts really can mess things up; I've dealt with them plenty of times, often quite large ones, and they cause nothing but trouble....
Now we just cross our fingers and hope my period finally shows up...

And no more finger-pointing!!🤣

Welcome to the club....

You tested a little too early, honey; you should have waited until tomorrow....just breathe, nothing is out of whack...everything happens when it's meant to...I know....it's hard...but whatever, that's just how life goes.

At just two weeks along, a woman doesn't even realize she's pregnant. But if her period is ten days late? We aren't talking about two weeks anymore. Depending on the cycle length, we're looking at five or six weeks. 😉 If we’re counting from the last period—which is how doctors typically calculate it anyway.
stormyjackal46 said:I had that exact same thing happen. I honestly thought my period was just starting, but it only lasted a day and a half and was incredibly light... I took an at-home test later that afternoon, but it came up negative. It had been about 3 or 4 weeks since ovulation, so I have no clue if I just tested too early.🤷 Help me out here, please..!

From what I can gather, you took that test before your period was even late....
Your best bet is to wait until Saturday, or better yet, Monday (once you're at least a day or two late), and then take a test 😉 and definitely let us know how it goes 😉
rapidrider3 said:Look, if you’re only two weeks pregnant, there's zero chance an ultrasound will pick anything up. It’s too early. The amniotic sac hasn't even formed enough to be visible on a scan yet... we're talking something tiny, like a grain of sand. There's just no way...

So, do you actually want a baby or not?
If you do, just breathe. If it happened, you'll find out soon enough....
If you don't... well, I don't even know what you're playing at then..
You're spiraling way too much over this...

I went in for my scan at 5 weeks and 5 days, and they could see the yolk sac and the gestational sac, but no fetal pole yet...
But by 7 weeks and 6 days, everything was clearly visible, including the Communist Party USA.😍

I’m five months into this pregnancy now, and honestly, everything just feels off. It’s not like my husband is complaining—ha, yeah, right—but I’m starting to lose my patience with it all.😠 I don't even wake up thinking about sex anymore; if we aren't making out first thing in the morning, I’m basically a zombie for the rest of the day.🙄 Then, at the very least, there’s once more in the evening 🙄 but during the day, the thought crosses my mind at least twenty times.

I’m pretty sure I’m carrying a little boy with a massive libido.☕

That was exactly how I felt during my second and third months... things have leveled out a bit for me now, though it didn't bother me one bit, 😍 and it bothered my husband even less.😂
Dennis Kim5 said:So, I finally got the official word back from my doctor—they’re saying there should be enough to actually see the pregnancy on an ultrasound within the next two weeks...

Two weeks from when? From conception?
Samuel Cox27 said:I’m feeling a bit lost here... I have all those classic symptoms that could point toward pregnancy, so I haven't let myself get too carried away just yet. Everything was going fine until about 7:00 this morning, when I woke up with these intense cramps—exactly like the ones I get right before my period starts (which is due this Saturday, and my cycle is usually clockwork). I headed to the bathroom and noticed some light spotting. But it was literally just tiny dots of blood that disappeared immediately after. Now, the pain is gone and there's no more bleeding at all? ???????

Roughly 8 to 10 days after ovulation, some women experience light spotting, which often overlaps with when they expect their period to arrive. In fact, some people mistake it for a very light period. This type of bleeding can actually be caused by the fertilized egg implanting into the uterine lining.

So, it is entirely possible that what you experienced was implantation. 🙂
stormyjackal46 said:I’m jumping back in here, but please, I am begging you—someone give me an answer! So, if the ultrasound shows we're around week 5, what’s the absolute earliest window to get testing done? Are we looking at the 5-week mark for the iso test, or can it be done even earlier? What's the deal?

It's honestly best to just wait until you miss your period... for some people, it shows up positive just a day after it's late, while for others, it takes longer. It all comes down to exactly when conception happened.

In all three of my pregnancies, I tested on the second day after my missed period and it was positive.
Ronald Williams9....your last sentence actually reminded me of my father....if his temperature hits 98.5, he starts drafting his will and planning his own funeral😂😂
and my mother, if she hits that same mark, just collapses into bed and waits for the end😂
they are unbelievable🤣

yet, nobody ever asks me what happens when I’m running a 102-degree fever. Do I get to stay in bed? No. Do I get help with the kids, the cooking, or the cleaning?
Not a soul....because I'm expected to handle it all alone.
I have never once driven my child to the pediatrician while feeling like death warmed over—and I mean truly, barely able to stand up straight kind of sick.🙄
Look, in our house, I'm the only one behind the wheel, but even then....I practically have to beg my mom to go with me because it's so hard to manage everything solo (especially when I'm ill), and hearing her say, "Why do I really have to go?" absolutely infuriates me.
He loves his son—don't get me wrong, he adores him—but when it comes down to actually getting off the couch and doing something, suddenly there are endless excuses about how much his head hurts.🙄
Thomas Gonzalez9 said:🤣🤣well, you've certainly lifted my spirits 😁

my darling is anything but mature... I practically have to draw him a roadmap just to get him to do a single chore, because otherwise, he could walk right over my dead body and I wouldn't even notice 🤣

then again, he is a good man and he actually follows through once I tell him what needs doing... it's just the constant need to micromanage every little thing that gets under my skin 🙄

anyway, back to the point...

I'm still mostly annoyed by those women who act like they're the smartest people in the room and assume I'm some kind of idiot who won't survive without their "expert" advice. Sure, this is my first pregnancy, but I do my research... and frankly, I probably know more than they do with their outdated, old-fashioned notions 🙄
look, I don't mind a bit of advice, but when they start lecturing me and trying to force their opinions on me... I just lose it 😠

and then there's my mother-in-law... she drives me crazy because she feels the need to comment on every single word out of my mouth. She acts like she's the most capable woman on the planet, and clearly, I'll never measure up to her standards since apparently everything I do is easier than what she endured 🙄 at this rate, she'll be claiming she floated through her pregnancy while I'm just here, miserably walking 🤣

It’s infuriating because they make it seem like I'm incompetent, like I can't care for my own child or handle basic tasks properly. Their way is the only right way, and mine is somehow wrong. It's always that same tired logic.
In the beginning, all this constant nagging really got to me—I even cried about it—but at no point did I ever doubt my own decisions. I continued to do what I felt was right, rather than following the orders of everyone else.
This is my child. I am the one who will raise them, and I will do things my way (though I might let my husband weigh in 😂 if I actually agree with his perspective 😂).

It is truly pathetic that instead of providing genuine support to expectant mothers, people choose to exhaust them and belittle every move they make.👎
driftingeagle65 said:😳 Here’s my experience. I usually took care of the lighter chores while he handled the heavy lifting, though I’ll admit I would have been happier if things were distributed differently. Still, I truly value having a guy like him and wouldn't trade him for anyone, not even Dick.😁
Maybe the wife actually has a medical reason why she can't handle the housework, though personally, I don't see cooking or dusting being that difficult.🤷

👍 Kudos to both the husband and you for being able to appreciate that

And let’s be real—that woman clearly doesn't have some medical condition stopping her from at least making lunch... because if she has enough energy to hit up coffee shops or go visit friends, then she can get off her butt and cook a meal for her husband.😉
Bubba said:Well, good for our husbands then!!! They are living in an absolute fairy tale! Honestly, I’d love to live in one too. Only in my dreams—actually, maybe not even there.
It seems we’re all in the same boat! Ugh, knowing that doesn't make it any easier, but I have to admit, it would be even harder if I knew other men were actually better and more attentive. From what I can see, that's an impossible mission, or at least a massive rarity.

I’d call it a rarity... because, you know, I know a father who heads out to work in the morning and comes back in the evening...
but before he leaves, he handles everything with the baby (changing, playing, etc.), and when he gets home, he cooks, cleans, changes the baby again, gives them a bath, plays with them...
I honestly just wonder what his wife does all day that she can't manage anything around the house 🙄 and I hope she realizes how lucky she is to have a husband like that, because so many of us would love it if our husbands did something like that just once a week.
Arthur Mitchell said:They can't even find their own socks without help. It's instant phone usage—"Which yogurt should I buy?" or "Is it time for the baby to eat yet?"😂
It's enough to drive you insane! Then I walk through the door after a long day, and the house looks like a disaster zone because he was supposedly "watching the baby," and naturally, I'm the one left to clean up the mess. And the physical toll? Don't even get me started... they act like babies themselves! Total wimps.😂

Look, I have never understood this... how can they not know where things are located? They live in that house😕 and everything stays in the exact same spot every single day.....

I mean, fine, my partner can handle a few small chores while I'm out (seeing a doctor or whatever), but then he has to spend the entire rest of the day "resting" because he's just *so* exhausted😂 (and I've only been gone for maybe two hours)
Morgan Barnes3 said:Even better—maybe husbands could step up a bit more so moms can actually get some rest... 😁
It honestly drives me crazy when men act like they think I’m going to have "the best time ever" during postpartum. Like, oh, you'll be home for a year! He actually told me he’d gladly swap places with me in a heartbeat—that he'd happily deal with the labor, the breastfeeding, the sleep deprivation, and all the other "joys" of motherhood just to stay home. It seriously makes my skin crawl because I just don't think he realizes how incredibly tough it is for young moms. Honestly, there are moments when I just want to strangle him! 🙂

Oh, please... they would all love to swap with us because... what exactly are we doing? We're just sitting at home, right? Just "babysitting" all day.🙄
But the second they actually have to stay home and watch the kid for an hour or two, they lose their minds. They're constantly glued to their phones, snapping at everyone and texting us to ask when we'll be back.😂
And don't even get me started on the physical pain. It’s been proven time and again that they're total wimps when it comes to actual discomfort. I’d really love to see how they’d handle labor.😂 😂
