Faded, I've been at it for two full days now—making progress quite quickly, I think.🙂

Chloe Garcia10 said:So, I started taking half of my 10 mg Alice dose this morning.
I’ve already had to run to the bathroom three times with diarrhea, and honestly, the dizziness is hitting me way harder than usual.
I'm assuming these are just the side effects kicking in.
Has anyone else dealt with Alice before?

Try dropping down to a quarter dose for four days—that was my doctor's suggestion, since she knows how sensitive I am—then on the fifth day, take a half. Do that for another four days, then bump up to three-quarters for four more days, and finally hit the full dose on the fifth day. It'll be fine. Honestly, I tell everyone that Elysia is a breeze compared to the side effects I got from Prozac. Just give it a shot; you'll see it works out, but half a pill was likely too much for your first day. Oh, I forgot to mention—I also dealt with dizziness for those first three days.

Kenneth Scott41 said:Well, here I am again, posting about yet another new prescription. 😁 I've been switched over to Cymbalta now; apparently, it’s some newer medication coming out of Spain, which I suppose explains why they're charging me such an arm and a leg $13 per box!
This is genuinely the last time, though—the absolute final time I'm going to trial a new medication. If this doesn't actually do the trick, I'm just going back to my old stuff, even if it leaves me feeling completely asexual. 🙂

Man, I have to hand it to you—it takes some serious guts to go through all that trial and error.

Everyone’s different, right? What works for one person might not work at all for someone else. For some, it’s Prozac.
It’s all relative, isn't it? For one person, Paxil might be a total nightmare, while for someone else, it’s a complete lifesaver. It really just depends on the individual.
On my own... the usual stuff.

I couldn't agree more. What works perfectly for one person can be an absolute nightmare for someone else. The real struggle is that you won't actually know which one fits your chemistry until you try them—which is often an exhausting, uncomfortable process. I just started taking Alice today; I can't say much yet, other than I haven't had the intense reactions I dealt with on Paxil and Effexor. We'll see how things settle in about 20 days or so.

Kenneth Scott41 said:I’m curious to hear about everyone's experiences with antidepressants. Which ones have you actually tried? Which ones worked well for you, and which ones were just a total waste of time? I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts on this.🙂😁

I've cycled through quite a few myself—Prozac, Effexor, Lexapro, Luvox, Zoloft, though I won't go through an exhaustive list... but if I had to say, my best experiences were definitely with Lexapro and then Effexor.

Even on a tiny dose of Effexor, I felt like I was about to lose my mind—I haven't touched it since. Tomorrow I'm starting Lexapro—specifically the Alice brand, which is just the same thing under a different name—so I'll check back in a few days to let you know how it goes. I tried Paxil twice before; by the third attempt, my body had such a severe reaction that I gave up after just ten days. I also took Coaxil for a year, but it didn't do a thing for me. Nothing else.

It's a bit embarrassing, really. I was actually convinced I hadn't even sent the post and that the whole thing was just some strange dream. I suppose I’ve just been staring at blank screens for days on end, and then suddenly, everything starts shifting—like colors just beginning to bleed together out of nowhere. Uh. 😲

Anyway, thank God you're feeling better. I actually hopped back on here just to see if you’d posted anything. I've been following your updates for a while now, and what you said this morning really hit me the wrong way. As long as you're okay, that's what matters. Have you been on the Void for a while now?

Michelle Thomas45 said:Well, great—so it’s working exactly how the manual says it should! What was the original reason your doctor put you on this stuff anyway? And how exactly did that "better" feeling start creeping in?

It's a mild antidepressant—I actually took it for a full year without seeing any real results, unfortunately. I spent a lot of time struggling and just hoping things would eventually turn around, but Paxil ended up being much more effective for me.🤷

Been dealing with depression for a long time now. Currently on Lexapro and taking Xanax when needed.

I heard recently that some vitamins shouldn't be taken alongside antidepressants. I take a daily multivitamin—just one pill a day like the label says. Started doing it because I read vitamin b complex is good for people under a lot of stress. What’s your take? You guys take vitamins?

A vitamin b complex is definitely worth considering for nerve support. You can pick one up at any local pharmacy, and it's perfectly fine to take it while on antidepressants.
