Psychotropic medication discussion thread

So, I'm looking at Alvent vs. Effexor. I used to be on Lexapro paired with 2mg of Xanax daily. After that, it was Faverin along with 2mg of Xanax.
It feels like a new antidepressant every single year! My psychiatrist just switched me over to Alvent, but I've only been on it for three days.
Anyone have any experiences with this? I wasn't really popping pills until the depression hit, but now... man, this second time around is pretty rough. Or maybe it's just me. I remember she tried to put me on Prozac once, but I just shut that down immediately. ☕
Since I'm basically poisoning myself anyway to avoid the heavy-duty stuff... she might as well have just prescribed morphine. 😂
Just a little joke... But seriously, my old man has dealt with psychosis since I was five, so I don't even need to get into how much that messed with me. And my mom was always working, didn't really pay much attention, you know... I'm a pretty good actor though, so people rarely notice. Some folks actually think I'm totally chill. 😁 But behind the scenes... 😢
