Thanks so much for the reply 😉 I did exactly that.
I could use some clarification here... I've tried calling the help desk and sending emails, but I haven't heard back from anyone. My child actually has a date with someone from the local high school later today, so I might just ask them then. But if any of you happen to know—when applying for the program, he had to list English as his first language priority, and German as his second (since that school offers German along with several other languages).
The system wouldn't let him proceed until he entered German in that field.
He meets all the requirements for both since he studied them in elementary school.
However, he really doesn't want to keep studying German in high school.
What happens now that it's listed on his application?
A few of his classmates are in the exact same boat and are feeling pretty anxious about this 🕺

I heard there's another one on February 12th in Indianapolis too, so now I'm just confused about which one is which. Any local ladies out there know the deal? If you've seen any flyers floating around, let me know 🙂))
I stumbled upon the schedule here:

Does anyone know where I can pick up some cork bottle stoppers? Also, does anyone have leads on car ribbons?
I checked out Amazon, but they don't carry any purple ones—just the standard white, red, pink, and yellow. None of that works for me. On a side note, if anyone is shopping, there's a huge selection of various reverbs, pads, baskets, tambourines, hair accessories, suspenders, and more available. It’s way cheaper than buying stuff here in Pittsburgh.
I grabbed some cork stoppers at Peavey, but just a heads-up—watch out because some packs come with different sizes!
As for the large car bows, I usually find them at that wedding supply shop located right behind the supermarket (though I tend to go for beige instead of purple).
She took New Life during her pregnancy and continued through breastfeeding and even postpartum...
👍 Helen Marijanovic did my makeup for my wedding too. I don't usually wear much makeup—often nothing at all—so she did a truly phenomenal job making sure I looked great while still looking like myself. 😉
I highly recommend her. My only issue was that whenever I tried to call her back for other weddings I attended, she was already booked up. However, she recommended two other girls to me, and I actually still use one of them for important events today. If anyone needs her number, just send me a DM...

They were supposed to give me a call about some alterations for my dress, but I haven't heard a peep from them... Thanks!

But what I'm actually hunting for is a hair clip or maybe a comb... something with a bit of a romantic vibe. I couldn't quite find that specific style there. 😢
Have you thought about wearing a flower in your hair instead? That would be so romantic.🙂 I'm actually feeling a little regretful now that I didn't go with that look myself...
A friend of mine hosted her wedding at Central last year. The food was just okay—I’m not sure about their specific menu or pricing, but I assume you can get all those details if you give them a call. They used the back section of the venue for the reception, where the band and dance floor were set up right next to the bar. Honestly, the layout felt a bit disjointed; because of the pillars and the way the room is structured, the guests seated at the far end of the hall couldn't really see any of the action, like the music or the bouquet toss. One thing we specifically disliked and chatted about afterward, though, was how rude the servers were.👎It seems to be a recurring issue at Central, unfortunately. I don't expect anyone to go out of their way to suck up to me, but a simple smile and actually placing things on the table—rather than literally dropping plates from a height—would be much more appropriate.
When she first mentioned having her wedding there, quite a few people in our circle reacted with, "Wait, why there?" So, I'm not sure. Perhaps someone else will chime in with a positive experience to help balance things out.🤷

Thanks
I am not sure if this helps at all...

Perhaps you could try reaching out to Hershey's?🤷

Listen, I was at a wedding at a hotel in Rome last September, and if there’s one thing I learned, it’s that you absolutely HAVE to watch the catering. My sister-in-law actually had two whole pigs and about seven or eight cakes swiped right out from under her nose.
The next morning, she finally realized what happened and absolutely lost it—started a massive scene—but honestly? It was like shouting into the wind. No one cared, nobody took responsibility for the missing food, and they didn't even give her a discount on the bill. Total nothingburger.
My advice? Assign someone—a trusted friend or a cousin—to be your eyes and ears. Someone to make sure everything is going exactly according to your vision... otherwise, everything else was actually wonderful, and that’s my only real gripe.
So, here’s my question for the group: does anyone know where I can order dessert near Indianapolis or even a bit further out, specifically places that are guaranteed to be delicious?
See, I'm based in Washington, D.C., but the wedding is going to be held out in the Midwest, so it's a bit of a logistical nightmare trying to vet the bakeries from a distance... so please, I'm begging for some recommendations!
Maybe consider Kruna Bakery? They have some photos of their pastries and wedding cakes here...I was really impressed by what they offer. We ended up going with a local lady who rented us our venue instead because they talked us into it, and while her treats were wonderful, she didn't quite nail the wedding cake design I had in mind.👎
I've had Kruna's treats at weddings a few times and they were excellent... you can definitely negotiate the cake design to fit what you want... they seem reliable and have all the right certifications, so there's a decent guarantee.🤷 I don't have any connection to them, just sharing my experience.😛
I’ve also been in my own little bubble... focused on my career and enjoying my free time. That maternal instinct just never hit me, nor did this overwhelming sense of "I have to." I haven't felt that biological clock ticking at all. I have friends who feel the exact same way too... nothing unusual about it. Personally, I don't think I'd be ready even at 40, just like I didn't feel entirely prepared at 28—even back then, with my degree finished, a solid full-time job, and a partner I've been with for nearly nine years...
Exactly, I only mentioned it so people would keep it in mind... it doesn't mean they'll necessarily have a bad experience... perhaps they could just look for a specific certification or something similar.😉It's really just about being a bit more cautious.🙂

You can actually order rings through him, and honestly, the prices make high-end boutiques look like highway robbery. All you have to do is show him a photo of the design you're after, and he'll craft an identical piece for you. For context, our ring ended up weighing in at 16 grams, and what we paid was laughably low compared to the ridiculous quotes we were getting from the big-name jewelers downtown. If you're interested, I happen to have his cell number handy.
Just a quick heads-up—this is all secondhand information, so please take it with a grain of salt since I haven't experienced it myself.😉Basically, my aunt was a maid of honor for a friend recently, and she mentioned that the groom's ring had corroded or something similar.🤷The color changed completely. He works a standard office job, so he isn't exposed to any harsh chemicals that would cause that kind of reaction. Honestly, the gold quality seems like a zero out of ten.👎The ring was purchased at an Emart. Just thought I'd mention it before anyone rushes out to buy; wedding rings really should be made to last.😉
