It’s honestly a bit frustrating feeling like I'm the only one being labeled with "pregnancy brain." I actually took the time to give a really thorough response to 🤦's post over at 😵 😵
edit: looks like Jeremy Thomas5 is on my side too 😁
It’s only when we’re venting about stuff from our real lives that things get heated and we might swear, since that's exactly what this thread is for—just letting out all that frustration from everything going on, and sometimes reacting a bit strongly because life just gets overwhelming... But we’ve never actually turned on each other or been disrespectful. If any of us felt the need to speak up or call someone out, we always did it by following the forum rules and just being decent people...
The bottom line is, the woman was being rude. Even after she was told to tone it down and move those comments to the right thread, she just kept pushing the same nonsense at us... so, naturally, she got under our skin ☕
For instance, I think your approach was much more polite, and your post definitely fits here... though, I have to admit, she really pushed my buttons too...
It’s actually kind of annoying how much my liver hurts right now (though I guess I deserve it after spending all afternoon making homemade potato chips and chocolate 🙄)
It really gets under my skin when I want to believe people have good intentions, but their delivery is just completely off. I thought about sending her a message around 3 p.m., but I’d probably just end up regretting it later. I honestly can't stand it when people act like that... if she’s truly a close friend, you should just be honest and tell her exactly what you told us here. But if she isn't actually a friend and is just being an absolute control freak, then just tell her to mind her own business and leave yours alone. That's definitely what I would do in that situation.
... everything just sort of fell into place, and while I'm happy with how things turned out, I can't help but wish I'd stretched things out a little longer...
Ryan Nguyen4 said:Look, if you’re looking for discussions on alcohol during pregnancy, just search the forums—there are actually some incredibly insightful threads in there. I honestly can't wrap my head around why she hasn't posted since 2009, though; is it because she clearly doesn't want to engage with any actual facts? If you’re having such a hard time grasping my point, just consider this: everything you consume flows directly into your baby's developing system. If you were to take a newborn and offer them a little sip of Martini, beer, or wine from a bottle, what then? Would you assume nothing happens? Or what if someone else decided to do it? How would you react to that? Or better yet, imagine putting a cigarette in their mouth... what a lovely thought, isn't it? Besides, pre-conception clinics and prenatal counseling centers don't just exist for fun or to give people something to lecture others about; they exist because the science is real. At the end of the day, everyone can make their own choices, but we aren't just talking about ourselves here; we're talking about another living being that didn't get a vote in the matter. And frankly, I suspect your reactions would be identical if anyone pointed this out to you in any other way... after all, when people get this defensive, it usually suggests they already know exactly why they're doing it. I can't see any other explanation for it.
Okay, so you're here because you want to help us out... But if that's the case, and if you actually want to be part of this community, then please read the rules first and follow them!
What that means is, if you want to talk about the dangers of drinking while pregnant, find an existing thread and post there!!! The fact that the thread hasn't been touched since 2009 doesn't matter; by posting, you'd be bringing it back to life!!!
Don't just clutter up our thread—where we're all just venting our pregnancy frustrations—with unnecessary posts!!!
And staying on topic—you're really getting on my nerves!!! 👋
Adam Evans62 I’m just glad you’re doing okay... honestly, I think I’d be losing my mind right about now 😠
Lately, I’ve just been getting in my own way, dwelling on these silly dreams of mine 🙄 and if I actually had any self-control, I’d just shut down my curiosity and stop reading all these heavy threads on the forum 😢
I have some of them too 😁😁😁 He’s always been pretty skinny, but he had a massive growth spurt during puberty—he's almost 6'7" now The only difference is his are on the inside and pretty hairy, whereas mine are just below and above my belly button... (and who knows where else they might pop up 🙄)
Michael Barrett11 said:Those marks get on my nerves too; right now, I feel like I'm covered in them. 😢 But usually, it's the ones forming a sort of snowflake pattern above my navel that bother me most. 😁 I have them below my stomach as well (though I only really notice those when I'm looking in the mirror 😛).
So, when my little one is literally stretching my skin out, it makes sense that I've ended up with cracks everywhere. 🙄
I know for some women they're just a natural part of being pregnant... but I'm honestly scared. I still have over two months to go, and I'm worried I'm going to end up with stretch marks all over. 😢 It also really bugs me that my husband acted like I was making a huge deal out of nothing when I brought it up this morning—he basically told me why should I even care... 😢
Stupid stretch marks 😠😠 On top of one line right below my belly button, I've got new ones popping up higher up now... and honestly, my stomach is the only part of my body I actually bother moisturizing 😢
- Because I woke up at 4:30 AM with the worst cramps I’ve ever felt in my entire life (in both legs)😢 - And because I couldn't get back to sleep after that... - And because my husband didn't get why I was being so cranky when he woke up, even though I told him immediately what happened - And because I'm incredibly sleepy right now, but I'm already at work and feel silly if I just head home early🤷 - And because my first stretch mark just appeared right under my belly button, even though my stomach is the one part of my body I actually moisturize religiously - And because my belly is itching like crazy right now - And because I had this dream that I gave birth to a 8.5 lb baby during my seventh month (like from gestational diabetes), and I still can't shake that feeling of guilt from the dream...
Steven Barrett6 said:So you're just like me, you'd probably snap back if you felt like it but we're either too "nice" or way too "chill" to actually react
But man, I've told myself a thousand times already (completely separate from any pregnancy stuff) that I seriously need to change this for my own sake.
It’s not really that I’m shy, though—sometimes I do react. It just feels like those things always happen at the worst times. Either I'm having such a great day that I don't care, or I'm feeling so down that I just can't be bothered with stupid stuff like that.
Jeremy Thomas5 said:I'm exactly the same way. Afterward, my mind just starts racing with all the things I could have said. But in that moment? I was just standing there in total disbelief. At least I didn't burst into tears.👍
🙂 I actually did cry once, just because half of my pear fell on the floor.😂
Sean Long4 said:I can't stand people like that... honestly, I'd love to give them a piece of my mind... even now while I'm pregnant, it's hard not to feel frustrated. They just have zero class.
As for me, I usually run into those types right when I'm having a great day and feeling totally unbothered. Then later on, once I actually think about it, I start coming up with all these perfect comebacks I should have used.
Since we're already talking about giving up priority to pregnant women...
I popped into the grocery store this morning just to grab a few essentials—bread, milk, the usual stuff. I was standing there at the checkout, coat unbuttoned and wearing a tight shirt (there’s really no hiding the pregnancy), and only one lady was ahead of me. As soon as she finished, this girl, maybe twenty or so, just swooped in right in front of me with nothing but two donuts. She didn't ask, didn't say excuse me, she just stood there like it was her spot. 🙄 It wasn't like I had a massive cart full of groceries, but still... then, while the cashier was ringing her up, another woman, probably in her thirties, just cut in to grab a magazine from the rack right next to them. Again, no polite question, she just moved in. 🙄 Luckily, I was in such a good mood that I didn't say anything, and honestly, I wasn't in any rush. But now that I've had a moment to sit down and think about it, it's actually pretty annoying. 🤣
It kind of bugs me because my mom was planning on taking some time off work to come help out, and I told her she absolutely could—but just not right away. I want us to have some time as just the three of us first 😍, and then she can come by and help once my husband is back from his vacation 😁
She knows how to push my buttons, though. She’s already teasing me about sneaking around behind my back to hold the baby and all that nonsense... I know she’s just joking, but it still gets under my skin a little
James Anderson8 said:It honestly drives me absolutely insane whenever I stumble upon threads debating whether "positioning during intercourse determines the baby's sex" or any other ridiculous variation of the "how to influence gender" myth. Helloooouuu, there is absolutely nothing involved in this equation except for the sperm! Was it an X or a Y chromosome that won the race? Honestly, someone needs to go back to elementary school biology class and stay there!
There, I had to get that off my chest... 🙄

This stupid cold is starting to get on my nerves. I feel okay physically, but I just can't breatheeeeee properly 😠😠😠 so I'm just sitting here at home looking like an idiot with tissues stuffed up my nose. 🙄
Jerry Fisher3 said:Men who honestly believe they’re experts on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care—more so than the average woman—really get under my skin. 😠 I’ll say one thing, and he’ll just stubbornly insist on the exact opposite. A friend of mine gave birth just twenty days ago—she hasn't even really stepped foot outside the house yet—and there he is, right in front of me, lecturing her about how "gross" it'll be for me because I'll be stuck at home during my sixth month. 😲 So, naturally, I told him that's out of the question. As soon as I feel up to it, I don't see why I shouldn't go for a light stroll with the baby. But no—according to him, we have to worry about what *might* happen to the infant, whether I'm "stable," or if I actually understand how much time a woman needs to recover 🙂 : It's like this with everything. The same guy who recently argued that an umbilical cord connects from the baby's navel directly into the mother's belly button. 🙂 What else is there to say? Honestly... :2up:
😂😂 I have someone just like that nearby, with the exact same attitude. I quickly learned to just nod along and ignore his "advice." Honestly, it’s all just incredibly cliché.🤦
Hannah Lewis2 said:😂😂😂 Pure genius. You could search the entire country with a magnifying glass and never find people this easy to talk to. 🤦
Honestly, my mom is starting to get on my nerves. We talk almost every single day, and the script never changes. It always kicks off with the same question—"Are you feeling okay? Is anything hurting?" And then it just spirals into this endless loop of nonsensical advice. Don't walk too much, stay out of the draft, dress warmer, use a blanket, put on shoes, eat more fruit, eat more bread, eat some meat, cook yourself a real meal, don't lift anything heavy... 🙄 🙄🙄 In those moments, I low-key just want to hear the sound of a phone receiver hitting someone's soft skull. My husband usually moves out of the room, just to be safe.
Oh, moms...😁 Mine does the same thing, always asking those questions. We don't talk super often though, so I guess it doesn't get on my nerves as much.😁 It used to bother me way more before I was pregnant, because back then I'd just be stuck facing a constant barrage of unnecessary questions and comments.
