It really bugs me how much weight they put on all of this... At first, my family acted so close, but they pretty quickly respected our decision and stopped meddling... But friends or acquaintances? 😕 In the end, it feels like the less close you are to someone, the more they actually nag you 🤷...
Oh, I forgot to mention the extra weirdness (like 😲) when I tell people I’m not dying to know the baby's gender, but rather that I'm just bursting with curiosity to finally meet this little human... To look at them for the first time, and cuddle, and kiss, and just love them 😍😍😍
And regarding what you mentioned over on the thread with madness and John Wells93, I completely agree... Luckily, I didn't have to deal with those kinds of issues myself...
It’s honestly getting so frustrating because everyone around me keeps nitpicking just because my husband and I aren't sharing the baby's gender yet. And then, if I happen to use "she" or "he" when talking about how happy we are, they immediately jump in with that sarcastic, "Oh, so you *do* know, you just won't tell us! So it's a girl/boy..." 🙄 Which leads to me having to explain myself over and over again... 🤦
Apparently, the best solution is to just refer to my future child as "it" or "this thing" so there's no confusion. No, I *definitely* know the sex of my baby, it's just that my husband and I are plotting some grand conspiracy against our entire circle of friends and family, and we're just waiting for the right moment to reveal our master plan... 🤣
I even had people suggest that my OB-GYN should just write the gender on a piece of paper, fold it up so I can't see it, and then let me show it to these busybodies... 😂 And of course, that "brilliant" idea came directly from those same people. 🤣
I’ve been dealing with those annoying leg cramps and twitches at night lately too... I’ve been taking magnesium every single day since I found out I was pregnant, but it doesn't seem to be doing much for me. 🤷 I tried the Enchian brand and that one from CVS...
Luckily, nobody around me is breathing down my neck about cutting out refined carbs... and even if they were, I could easily hold my own against them...
What really gets to me is that despite being careful with my diet for a long time (which probably wouldn't have mattered much anyway) and being extra cautious during my pregnancy, my labs still come back bad. It feels like bad luck with genetics... meanwhile, other pregnant women can just eat whatever they want and their results are perfectly fine...
Honestly, right now, all I want to do is go grab a massive slice of pizza.😢
I hit a snag at work today that I just can't seem to wrap my head around 🤷. Since I’m still the new girl on the team, I know these growing pains are normal, but it's totally fried my focus and left me feeling super frustrated 🙄 Then I start lecturing myself about how I shouldn't let little things get under my skin—reminding myself to just stay positive and focus on the good stuff ahead—which honestly just makes me even more annoyed that I'm letting this get to me 🙄 And then we're right back where we started...
Looking back at what I wrote, I actually have to laugh at myself 😂. I think my hormones might be running the show today; my mood is basically just riding a rollercoaster 🤣

No way, you didn't upset me at all. This topic is actually great. 👍👍👍 Don't go getting worked up thinking I was being defensive (that honestly sounds hilarious 🤣) I'm usually pretty laid back about this stuff; it just reminded me that I should probably weigh in here too...
Anyway, thanks for looking out for me 🙂 and seriously—that idea for the other thread is awesome! 👍
It honestly bugs me seeing all these stories online about how other pregnant women get priority everywhere—people cutting in line for them, giving up their seats on the bus, or even market vendors tossing in extra fruit for their little ones. I haven't had any of that happen to me yet, though I can already see the exhaustion coming 🤷. Even at the grocery store, people always seem to push right in front of me, probably because I come across as too timid. I think it’s just part of living here in this hot Southern climate and dealing with this specific local attitude.🙄
I’m feeling pretty frustrated because my glucose tolerance test results weren't what I hoped for, especially since I’ve been so careful about what I eat throughout this entire pregnancy... 😠 actually, it’s not even frustration, it’s just that I feel really down about it... 😢
It also doesn't help that my sleep has been getting worse lately. I keep waking up in the middle of the night because my limbs start tingling or I get these sudden cramps, which makes it so much harder to finally get comfortable and drift off... 🙄
Taylor Swift, seriously, go grab a massive stash of your favorite chocolates right now 🙂
I totally get how hard it is to just brush it off when our partners act like this. Honestly, you'd probably rather just 🙂
But please, stop trying to argue. As pregnant women, we’re already stretched thin enough as it is—if you try to push back, you'll just end up getting pushed around even more 😉 And don't worry about the baby being early; if you have your heart set on something specific, just go out and buy it or borrow it. He'll probably have forgotten you even mentioned it by then anyway...
Haha, my mom and mother-in-law are totally fine, but my dad and father-in-law 🙄 are a different story. My dad was dead set on us all going to a concert in Chicago at the beginning of June (my date is 6/1 😂), and he honestly can't see why that would be an issue at all. Then there's my father-in-law, who thinks we should head out to their vacation house once the baby is a month old—but not just for a weekend, he expects me to stay for a few weeks... 🤣
It really got under my skin at first, especially since my husband wasn't saying anything, but after I sat him down, I realized he actually feels the exact same way as I do; he just prefers to keep quiet about it. ☕ Now, we just end up laughing together about the ridiculous things they say. 😉
My coworkers just got on my case over some stupid nonsense regarding my annual 🙄
Honestly, it’s been so frustrating dealing with this contract position. Since I don't have a full year under my belt yet, I'm stuck at minimum wage, and I have absolutely no idea if they'll even have a spot for me once my maternity leave is up... 😢
It’s been driving me crazy lately because I’ve been waking up way too early, around 6:30 AM... I try to force myself to just stay in bed, but I can barely make it until 7:00. 😢 And honestly, that was the case the whole time I was on vacation 🙄 By the time I actually feel like heading back to bed around 9 or 10, I’m usually already out in town or grabbing coffee somewhere else... ugh.
As for my hair removal, I go to a salon once a month. It’s just become a long-term habit for me now, so I’m sticking to the routine. I used to time everything around my period (going right after it ended), but now I just schedule it around my doctor's appointments (going a few days before an exam)... I do it strictly for myself, though, not for the doctor. I just don't want to be running late or show up looking unkempt 😁, and if he happens to have any thoughts about it, he's welcome to them.
Regarding shaving, I tried doing it back when I first started thinning out, but even then I couldn't quite get it right. I can't even imagine being able to manage it with a belly like mine. 🤷
It’s honestly getting so annoying how everyone keeps telling me my belly looks too big for being only 16 weeks along. I really don't know how to respond to them... 🤷
I've only gained about 7.5 pounds so far, but it feels like it all went straight to my stomach. My digestion has been pretty rough lately, so I feel bloated and tight, especially at night, which is what I try to explain to people... along with the usual "everyone carries differently" talk.
But the ones who really get under my skin are the people who bring up their friends or relatives who didn't even show a bump until a month before they gave birth, 🙄 questioning why I already look soooooooo big. 😠😠😠
At first, I was actually really happy that it was showing so early. I thought I'd get to enjoy seeing it longer, and it made everything feel more real, like my little bundle of joy is actually in there. Now, everyone just ruins that feeling with their constant comments... 😢
ambercyclist32 said:Well, now which Steve are we talking about? If you mean the Steve I know, he used to work over at Photo Mart (I think he’s still there), but I also know he does freelance work for National Geographic and Profectus, and honestly, I am beyond thrilled with the shots he's taken. 👍👍👍But hey, who knows if he's the same guy you're looking for.🤷
I think so... oh man, that's great! I've seen some of his shots and they look amazing to me. I just wanted to check in and see if anyone had actually worked with him before pulling the trigger... thanks 🙂
I was wondering if anyone here has heard of a photographer named Stipe who does portraits in San Diego? I'd love to hear if any of you—or someone close to you—has worked with him before...
Does anyone have recommendations on where I can pick up some brittle in San Francisco? I'm also looking for a spot to get some smaller cakes—nothing huge like a wedding cake, just some nice pastries or treats.
I'm reposting this from a few pages back since I haven't heard anything yet 😢
I have a couple of questions... Roughly how many pastries should I order if I'm hosting about 50 to 60 people? Also, is it common to have a traditional wedding cake alongside something like a croquant, or do people usually just stick to one or the other? And does anyone have a good bakery recommendation in Los Angeles?

Ugh, I feel like I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing 🤷🤷🤷
Thanks for the link! Honestly, I’m not sure if this is actually a big deal or anything... was this kind of thing happening in previous years, or did anyone even show up?
