Spot on, Monster. I’m with you there... they'll probably run some study, but the data's been all over the place since that big strike back in 2019.

The list of schools getting into the program will likely drop this week. That meeting with the principals on Thursday wasn't just for show—they were probably busy cooking up some battle plan to deal with the angry parents.

Also, the Children's Ombudsman released her statement

"Based on what we've gathered, children, parents, educators, and principals weren't actually consulted—their input wasn't sought out in any fair or thorough way. Kids, parents, and teachers—the ones actually running the show—aren't fully informed or ready for the content and logistical demands of this reform. We want to point out that under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, kids have a right to speak up on anything affecting them, and this is a massive issue for them."

Why are the teachers staying quiet? Probably because they have to... some were basically forced to get on board.

And honestly? Whatever. We're all gonna lean on them until they cave. Like, 75% of parents are against this—and we're talking about a school with like two hundred kids... it’s gonna be a total circus 🎉

Under Section 135 of the Education Act—(3) A student's parent has both the right and the duty to stay in the loop regarding everything in the school's curriculum and lesson plans posted on their website: that includes mandatory and elective subjects, interdisciplinary modules, extracurriculars, experimental tracks, and special programs and requires parental consent for participation in all those areas, except for the core subjects that make up the basic educational standard.

Our only move is to file a lawsuit in federal court, since you can't appeal the Department of Appeals decision.

dada, fair enough, so we're talking intimidation tactics... plus, the whole petition thing is clearly just a way to spite the principal.

I figure our last resort is either calling in the school board inspectors because she failed to give us proper notice (which is literally her job), or just staging a walkout by keeping the kids home.

Some journalist needs to step up and ask what happens with parental consent. Did the Department of Education even think about that? Of course not. But what’s the actual fix for parents who refuse to sign off on their kids joining these nationwide school programs?

One half of A2 is mandatory—supposedly running until 2:30 PM—but the other part? Totally optional.

What can parents actually do when they’ve gathered a massive pile of signatures against this CN stuff via petition, but the principal just goes ahead and signs the school up for the project anyway? She’s basically treating our signatures like they don't even exist...

To make matters worse, the PTA wasn't even told there was a discussion happening—even though we all know the president shouldn't be making these calls solo, which is totally out of line here—so the parents' voices are being completely sidelined.

Plus, according to the Education Act, Article 135, Section 3, parents have to give consent for kids to take part in these types of programs (which is exactly where CN falls)... But when you ask what happens to the kids whose parents refuse to sign off? Total radio silence. No one knows!

I get that just filing a complaint doesn't guarantee the Department of Education will actually listen, but honestly... I highly doubt it.

For 240 people, that’s $3.25 per head, which lands us at $133! Honestly, I could've pulled a move and ordered way less since the servers were slicing everything so thin..🙂

Huge shoutout to bakery mus (Asheville/Riverton) and Ms. Sonja mus—hands down the best cakes and pastries I’ve ever had in my life.

Seriously, everyone at the wedding—from our parents' coworkers to our own colleagues, plus the neighbors—was begging for their contact info. They taste legit, homemade, and the slices are perfectly sized and neat. Major props. We're definitely becoming regulars, even if we have to drive a bit (they do delivery, too, obviously).

We grabbed 10 different kinds of pastries, where a kilo is $22, and a slice of cake is $3.25—specifically the chocolate parfait and the iced wind.
When the cake finally arrived, I was floored. The decoration was stunning, exactly what I asked for and then some... honestly...
It's worth checking them out!
Personally, dessert is a huge deal for me. I'm super picky and constantly testing different spots, and most bakeries don't cut it, but mus is absolutely top-tier. 👍

We aren't doing the whole cookie thing either... just lavender and a standard thank-you note.

Personally, I think getting cookies is killer because I’m a sucker for them, and honestly, they taste way better when you're snacking on them after the wedding is over rather than shoving them down your throat during the reception 🙂 so... why not? 🙂

Yeah, you don't just stack frozen wind because of how it's made. Take my word for it, I'm a pro pastry chef like 🤣

I’m totally lost on which cake to grab—maybe a Black Forest, something chocolatey like Ferrero Rocher, or a light cheesecake... I can't decide if we should mix it up or just stick to one flavor.

What was your logic when you were picking? Personally, I have a massive sweet tooth so I'm not picky, but I'm leaning towards something light... 🤔

As a guest, I want to taste everything, and I'll be seriously bummed ( 🤣 🕺) if I don't get a bit of everything... maybe sticking to one type is the move?
