Her dim-witted brother killed her—all because of his obsessive grip on her and his refusal to accept sharing her with another man. Not long after that, he hangs himself...
I can't recall what the gypsy said...

From what I could gather from the analysis, Lola supposedly moved to Mexico, while Michael headed to Boston (after Ann's death). As for who actually killed Ann, the text didn't specify. Then again, maybe the book differs from the movie. The text was quite lengthy, so perhaps I misinterpreted something...
Anyway, thanks for the answer.
There is one more thing that escapes me. After leaving town, Michael starts working with livestock. Following a period of prosperity, he receives a letter—I don't recall from whom. I find myself wondering how that letter ever reached him, given that nobody back in town had any idea where Michael had even gone😲. Either I am being an idiot🙂, or the movie is simply poorly written🙂. Though, I must admit, my concentration tends to wander frequently when I'm watching films...

I stumbled upon an essay about the book yesterday. From what I could gather—though I may have misread it, given how dense the text was—Lola supposedly headed to Mexico, while Michael went to Boston (after Ann passed away). As for who actually killed Ann, the essay didn't specify. Perhaps the book differs from the film version... it's possible I just misunderstood the nuances.
Anyway, thanks for the answer.
I recently tried watching "Alice in Wonderland" on YouTube. Unfortunately, the last seven minutes or so just refuse to buffer—it’s infuriating. So, I'm left hanging without knowing how the story actually concludes. Who kills Ann, and what was the motive?... The video just freezes right at the climax, when Lola is sitting on that branch with a noose around her neck, threatening to end it all because of Ann.
I am also curious about that "monologue" from the Gypsy queen who works for Ann. The audio quality on YouTube is absolutely abysmal. One evening, that gypsy woman delivered this monologue regarding Patty and her son, Jack. I really want to know exactly what she said... In that specific segment, she uttered things that "normal" people would never dare to say aloud...

Does that sound alright?
I’d ask you to bear with me for a moment while I organize all my data—everything from history and regional dialects to literacy, phonetics, morphology, and grammar, and so on.
Go ahead. I will read every single word carefully. I swear on my life, I am being completely honest!

Nick, oh man, look who I bumped into here...😁
What exactly is on your mind regarding the Chinese language? Let's dive into it once I know what you're looking for.
1. I noticed there’s actually another user here going by No Nick. Just so we're clear—I am Alex Rodriguez53. I have absolutely nothing to do with this other No Nick person. Someone even tried to message me about it before I realized the distinction myself. If you were referring to them, I honestly don't get the initial reaction...
2. Tell me what you already know. I'm interested in everything...

True, but even in Germany, where Germans make up over 90% of the population, you still have all sorts of Bavarians, Saxons, and so on. In China, they essentially have two main languages: Mandarin and Cantonese. Roughly 70% of the population speaks Mandarin, while about 30% speaks Cantonese. This means not all Han people speak the same tongue. And if my memory serves me right, Mandarin and Cantonese speakers can't even understand one another... It’s a far more complicated people than most realize. I read somewhere once that calling them "Mandarin" and "Cantonese" is technically inaccurate—that there is really just one language, Chinese, but it has so many dialects that communication between groups is often impossible. You have to remember we're talking about over a billion Han people here. Even in a small place like Canada, almost every village has its own distinct dialect🙄...

I don't really see the comparison to the United Kingdom, the former America, or the former Soviet Union—China isn't some federation of states.
According to that list, the "Han" are by far the largest group—we're talking over
BILLION people. The Zhuang people account for a mere 16 million😂. Essentially, everything rests on the shoulders of those Han individuals... while the other nationalities are more or less pushing for independence. And what about the language?
Does a single Chinese American nation even exist? For ages now, Tibetan Americans have been fighting for independence—only to be shut down by the state. Lately, we see Uyghur Americans attempting the same struggle... yet again, they face total resistance from the central authorities.
But who exactly are these "Chinese Americans"? I ask because I’ve heard theories that the population is actually composed of British Americans, Soviet Union remnants, or perhaps American Americans. Even within China, there isn't just one tongue spoken—not counting "Tibetan American" or Uyghur American dialects. Mandarin is the big one, plus another major language I can't quite name. What specific nations are actually pulling the strings in China? Take the United Kingdom, for instance—it’s dominated by English Americans. Or look at the old America—you had Mexican Americans and those "pro-American American" factions, mostly driven by Russian Americans in the Soviet Union.
What does it truly mean to be Chinese American, and what is the actual reality on the ground in China? Is the situation comparable to Spain—where Catalan Americans and Basque Americans are pushing for "independence🙄", the Galician Americans aren't exactly loyalists, and the Spanish Americans fight to keep it together? Or is it more akin to the collapse of America—where American Americans, Canadian Americans, Albanian Americans, and Mexican Americans all push their own agendas while the pro-American American types try to "put out the fires😉"?

Look, compared to the rest of this lot, Napoleon is actually a king😁
Joseph Stewart38 said:So, I'm curious—does anyone actually have the hard data on who the top-selling artists were back in the old US federation era? My assumption is that among solo male vocalists, it was Elvis Presley, and for bands, maybe New Fossil... but as for the women? Perhaps Madonna? Anyway, does anyone have the exact figures?...
Elvis Presley? I know the name exists, but I haven't heard a single one of his songs—honestly. I've heard of New Fossil, but I find it hard to believe they were truly the best sellers. I don't have any specific numbers at hand. Besides, there's the issue of longevity—some of these groups didn't even hit the scene until 1980...
In your opinion, who are the absolute worst rappers or hip-hop groups from the former USA? Here is my list—complete with a brief commentary on each artist and their tracks. I’ll start with the "least bad" and work my way up to the true bottom of the barrel...
5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugnCuO9CuU4 - Napoleon - Welcome
- Napoleon actually put some real money and effort into his music—his videos look professionally produced. The beats are solid and the rhymes aren't terrible, provided you judge him by the standards of this particular group. He’s the best among the worst...
4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPEDo9f4fXU - Elmo - God what should I do
- Elmo didn't quite reach the level of production that Napoleon did, but he certainly poured a lot of himself into the project. His songs actually make sense... at least within this specific category... 🙂
3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksf_ncGveNw - den Kragulj - For my enemies
- It just keeps getting better and better... 🤣 It might actually be worth listening to den Kragulj. I mean, what exactly is he trying to tell his enemies here😁?
2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXDI8GF0I1M - General Two - Look how hot I am
- You want to know why General Two is so hot? Just listen to "Look how hot I am" and you'll find out😂🤣

I’m not entirely sure what I’m hoping to achieve by starting this thread; maybe I just need a little bit of support, or even some insults or sympathy—honestly, anything just to feel like someone is talking to me, because I feel incredibly lonely. 😢
So, I guess I should start from the beginning. Back in high school, I was an excellent student without ever really having to try, which meant I never actually developed any real work ethic. I managed to get into the university I wanted without much trouble and moved away from my small hometown to this massive city. When the first deadlines rolled around, I passed a couple of exams, and then suddenly—just like that—everything changed. College felt pointless, I realized it wasn't what I actually wanted to do, and I just lost all motivation to study. I ended up spending most of the next two months just lying around the house, watching TV, or out drinking. Since attendance isn't strictly mandatory at my university, I took full advantage of that, and for the next few months, the campus didn't see me at all. By the time the next round of finals came, I hadn't passed a single thing, and that continued for the next three years. As my friends from school started moving into their senior years, we had less and less to talk about, our schedules stopped lining up, and bit by bit, I just drifted away. Yeah, I don't have anyone. I grew distant from everyone back home, lost touch with the people from college, and honestly, I don't even know who I could grab a coffee with tomorrow if I wanted to.
I'm 23 now, and I have no idea what my future holds. I don't have any real job skills to speak of, so I can't exactly be independent and stop relying on my parents, though I suppose I don't spend too much money since, as I mentioned, I have no one to go out with. I've basically locked myself in my apartment and stopped leaving. A few times a week I'll head to the grocery store or maybe take a short walk, but the rest of my time is spent in front of the TV or online; I've written ten thousand posts here, for goodness' sake. 😳
Nothing brings me joy anymore; every day feels identical. I only change out of my pajamas under very unusual circumstances, and I feel quite pathetic. I'm no expert, but I suspect I might be dealing with depression. There have been moments where I've thought about just ending it all to stop this stagnation, but I'm quickly snapped back to reality by the thought that I have no friends and no one would even show up to my funeral, which would lead my mom to realize things aren't as great as I tell her they are. 😢
I realize that my behavior is terribly childish and immature; I'm aware of it all. I spend my nights crying and feeling desperate, feeling small and worthless and ashamed, yet I just can't seem to force myself to change. I'll sit down to study, and then my mind just drifts away, and that's that. I don't know, I really don't. And I suppose I'm doing this for selfish reasons, just wanting to find some relief for my soul.
If anyone actually read this, I apologize for venting like this, but I feel a little bit better now. 😢
Parents stop giving cash😁. The stomach demands food🤣. Depression vanishes instantly😂
Well, you're smart👍, just a little spoiled🙄
You used both Mexican and Vlach. Isn't that essentially just two different ways of saying the exact same thing to you😉???
