So... I mean, here’s how I’m picturing it, I guess. You’d basically find someone who’s down to play around with their own neurochemistry—you know, messing with dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and all that good stuff—and while they’re doing that, they just happen to be hanging out with someone they actually want to fall for. After a little while, the brain starts making these intense connections between those massive hormonal surges and the person sitting right next to them. It’s basically just classic Pavlovian conditioning, right? 😁

And look, autosuggestion is a total blast, but honestly, I feel like only a tiny fraction of people can actually pull that off. This first method, though? It might actually work... maybe. 🤣

Scooby-Doo, grrr, I don't read Cosmo, you totally misread me there... 😍
Roger Morgan4 said:Look, we aren't all built the same way! That’s just common sense—we differ in so many ways. Is it really such a disgrace to admit that we aren't identical? I also find it interesting when people talk about gender strengths and immediately try to force an equality of capability. If I say women are the weaker sex, I’m not trying to be insulting or condescending; it’s simply a biological reality. Now, rights? That’s a completely different conversation. We are all human beings, and we deserve equal rights under the law.

I suppose I’ve drifted a bit from the main point... what I mean to say is that ability is an individual trait. It feels somewhat pointless to argue or make broad generalizations based on whether someone is male or female. There isn't much more to be said there. We are all unique individuals, but we should all have the same rights! Simple as that.

The question was whether we have equal capability, not who's got more muscle... and nothing is "logical" until there's actual proof behind it. ☕

I totally agree with that, which is what I was trying to point out... but when researchers actually dive into the data, they find these g-e-n-e-r-a-l differences, kind of like what I mentioned back in my first post.. 😉

Look, let me try to break this down for you, just a quick little summary, I guess.
The only real differences researchers have actually managed to pin down regarding intelligence seem to boil down to spatial vs. verbal skills. Basically, men tend to pull ahead when it comes to spatial stuff, while women usually take the lead on verbal things. That’s just the broad strokes, though—you can always find plenty of exceptions once you start looking at individuals. Apparently, when guys tap into those spatial abilities, they're using certain parts of the brain that women don't really use the same way. So, that's why there's that whole stereotype about men being better drivers, since they're supposedly better at judging speed, angles, distance, and where things are coming from. 😉 (Though, I should probably mention—the smartest person on the planet is allegedly a woman 🙏)
Another thing, which scientists are still scratching their heads over, is that whole idea that women can multitask better. You know, like being on the phone, painting your nails, and keeping an eye on dinner all at once. The theory is that women might have a corpus callosum—that's the bridge connecting the left and right hemispheres of the brain—that's up to 10% thicker than men's, so information just zips back and forth between the two sides way faster.

Anyway, don't expect too much more debate on this topic—it seems pretty clear to me that we're all equally capable. 😘

Look, this kind of stuff has happened before, and honestly, I feel like it’s just going to keep happening down the road too. Sometimes I get hit with this wave of guilt, you know? But then other times, I don't really feel like I'm in the wrong, mostly because the whole issue stems from my own headspace—like, my inability to actually *feel* certain things—and I guess you can't really control how your brain works, right? It's just not something I have any say over. But hey, I’ll apologize regardless. If they're a decent, normal person, they’ll probably just get it and move on, but if they aren't... well, they can just deal with it themselves, I suppose. 🤷

It's more about how people would see me if I did. In my community, if you sell your family property, people look at you like you've completely failed. They see selling land as a sign of weakness, like you're someone who just can't make it on their own. Finding steady work is already such an uphill battle in my field, so it feels risky. I’d really love to pivot toward something in tech, maybe something involving computers...
To be totally honest, I’m terrified of making a move. I'm scared of being judged by everyone and losing the little stability I actually have. Ideally, I’d love to start my own small business, but I just haven't hit on a solid idea yet.

So, I guess that's the real crux of it then!
As for those neighbors of yours—well, you can either just tune them out entirely, or let their gossip eat you alive from the inside, which, you know, isn't great. But you gotta realize that no matter what you decide to do, there's always going to be someone out there who thinks you're making a mistake. So, maybe—and I'm just saying—it might be better to focus on your own future for once.
And the fear part? Yeah, that's on you, I guess. Nobody can swoop in and fix that except you. It's actually pretty awesome that your mom is in your corner; that's a huge leg up, seriously. You just need to find that spark to take that first step, and I suppose things will start feeling more natural after that. I don't know, maybe just start scrolling through LinkedIn or Indeed and see what catches your eye. Don't rush into anything crazy! Just keep looking until you find that perfect fit. Then, you know the drill—sell the acreage, flip the script, and start over.
It feels like this mountain is impossible to climb, but honestly, you're probably your own biggest roadblock here. So, just... grit your teeth and go for it. Conquer that fear!

Stop dreaming about living and just start living your dream! 😉

I don't think we should be judging him too harshly, honestly; he just doesn't have any passion for farming, you know? It’s not really all that surprising that he looks at the whole thing with a bit of shame or even total disgust, and besides, I mean, is it even right to bash anyone's career choice anyway? That feels like a side issue to me.

ironwolf82, I feel like it’s actually pretty tough for us to gauge what your actual job prospects look like right now, since, well, we don't really know what kind of moves you're willing to make. Like, would you even want to pack up and move somewhere else if you had to? And what's the actual job market like in your small town? Is there anything specific you're actually interested in doing? Also, could you maybe sell off that land if a better opportunity popped up elsewhere? And does your mom even know what you're going through, or is she totally out of the loop regarding your situation?
