peace out! 😉
who's leaving?
Feels like things are actually moving along pretty well this year, especially since last year they didn't even drop the headliners until May!
Anyway, I’d say just grab a ticket now. It's super easy to flip later if you change your mind...
Has anyone picked up their ticket just for X
?
edit: fingers crossed we get Beirut too... 🙂

steeltiger2 said:So, just a quick update—he mentioned this girl once before, someone he thought was incredibly hot, but that was it. She’s a completely different person from the others I've brought up. And look, she's attractive, sure, but I don't care about that. They both have their own lives. But then, just a couple of days ago, he starts texting her constantly under the guise of "work stuff." Apparently, she works for another firm that partners with his, so there's that excuse, but honestly? It feels totally calculated. Like he's intentionally using work as an excuse to bridge the gap into her private life when he didn't even need to be messaging her in the first place.
I’m not going to say anything this time. I’m just exhausted, and frankly, the whole thing is starting to feel a bit nauseating. Maybe it’s because I’ve started acting more like him lately, though I couldn't tell you for sure. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I don't dare react at all, but inside, I am absolutely seething. Everything is just building up and churning within me.
What should I do, please?
Do I just sit here and wait to see if they start hanging out outside of the office? I honestly have no clue how to handle this right now.

Actually, looking at everything you guys have said, maybe the best move is to just accept that he needs to carry his own weight. I think I’m going to leave him completely alone this time. I want to see what happens when I’m not being the jealous one, when I stop interfering entirely. I've got nothing left to lose. 🤷
I think it’s finally time to focus on myself and my own mental health. If he actually loves me, maybe he'll snap out of it once he realizes what he's doing.
Or, he'll just realize he doesn't love me that way and that he's really just looking for something new with someone else. I'm done with the drama... Perhaps I'll finally find some peace and uncover the truth of the situation only once I step back and let things play out on their own.

Brittney, you ARE jealous. You can pretend you aren't, but it’ll come out eventually. 😢 Just look at what you wrote in that last sentence.

Maybe you're overthinking the texting thing a bit—it's probably not such a big deal.
To me, the bigger issue is that this seems like a pattern. It’s just how he is. You mentioned before that he loves being the center of attention, not just from you, but from other girls too. I guess feeding his ego like that matters more to him than hurting your feelings 🤷

steeltiger2 said:Okay, you have a point there. But honestly, I didn't think I lacked self-love at all. It wasn't until he actually started loving me for real that I realized I didn't love myself.

Pretty much. It wasn't exactly my goal to end it all, but I didn't know what else to do and I wanted to hurt myself as badly as possible. It was just that one time.

There’s no issue, really. In fact, I’m going to start noticing other attractive people and thinking about their great physiques, because I want to accept that as normal. Clearly, I haven't quite adjusted to reality yet.
I need to start being "normal" too, and maybe once I align myself with that, it won't bother me so much.
Of course, I won't actually do anything—just look (and think) and maybe make a comment here and there, making it explicitly clear to my boyfriend that I don't reserve my sexuality just for him. It's all perfectly natural. 😉

👍👍
Your boyfriend will probably change his tune pretty fast, and you'll likely realize he's the one with the confidence issues who just needs an ego boost...

Just accept who he is. You clearly love feeding that ego of yours, and you'll always fall for those little lines, even when he hasn't actually done anything. 🙄
You aren't going to change him, no matter how much you vent or try to bottle it up. Honestly? Just figure out if you can actually live like this first.

If he tells you he loves you and there’s nothing to worry about, just try to take him at his word. Really give it your all to believe him.
But if you still find yourself feeling drained, lashing out, or getting hysterical—which, let's face it, happens—and his behavior just doesn't sit right with you despite your best efforts to move past the Jealousy, then it's time to walk away. Otherwise, he might end things before you do.
Elizabeth Nguyen10 said:I'm 22 and I've been stuck in this depression hole for four years now—I can tell you firsthand, I know what hell looks like... Honestly, I don't think things could get any worse than what this has done to me. Beyond just being unable to feel joy, I can't even remember what being happy actually feels like. It’s just constant, insane thoughts and these fake beliefs that haunt me for months—stuff a normal person wouldn't even dream of... I'm just done. I've isolated myself from everyone and the worst part is knowing people talk about it when they haven't got a clue how it actually feels... I really need to know how to find the guts to tell my parents I need help. Every single time I scrape together whatever strength I have left, this depression just convinces me I'm talking nonsense—that I don't need help and it's all just in my head... it's a vicious cycle. I tried those over-the-counter supplements once, and after a week, I actually felt slightly better, but then things went south—I was shaking all day, nothing crazy, just a constant tremor like I was in some kind of delirium... so I stopped taking them and everything just spiraled even harder. Please, I need advice because I'm seriously lost... This depression is basically running my life at this point—I can't even make decisions for myself anymore, it's like it's taken total control of everything...

Please, just show them exactly what you wrote here. Tell your parents today. Do it soon!

Samuel Phillips2 said:I felt pretty much the same way when I was retaking my sophomore year... So, how's it going now? Am I back at square one at some other university?

But you know what? Maybe I should have done it. (Though saying that ten years later feels a lot easier than it actually was...)

You sound like you're having a harder time than I did. Give me a little optimism here—you're only in your early twenties. Look at me: 32 years old, two kids, a mother-in-law in the guest room, and an endless PhD dissertation.

And you think 32 is old?! Don't just sit there waiting for another decade to pass, only to beat yourself up later for not doing something when you were "only" 32...

It's all up to you. Plus, you can definitely find a way to use everything you've learned so far, even without finishing that doctorate.
Good luck!
Melissa James70, just wondering if psychotherapy actually helps? Honestly, I’d love to try it, but I really don't want to throw money down the drain if it doesn't work. I've hit a point where everything is just getting to be too much. I'm definitely feeling pretty overwhelmed lately.

Nobody smokes at my house, so you can imagine how much I stink after one night out.
My biggest issues are watery eyes, coughing, and a runny nose.
So, I work on-site (construction), and our office is split—three smokers and three non-smokers.
The smokers are actually good people, but once they catch a whiff of those cigarettes, they turn into total beasts.
One guy just had a baby recently, and he’s been smoking even more intensely since then.
I finally asked him, "Hey, do you smoke at home?"
He said no.
"Then how does that work?"
The guy just looks pale and awkward.🤷
Right now, it feels like fighting windmills, but as soon as that indoor smoking ban finally passes, I’ll be calling the health inspector and won't look back.
Such a headache.👍

Trying to fight smokers is such a Sisyphus task. Honestly, the worst part is that as a non-smoker, you feel like the bad guy during the argument!!! I used to work at a company where the smokers really pressured me, and when I finally reached my breaking point, I thought about reporting them to OSHA. But then it hit me—I’d still have to work with them (they're decent people otherwise), and life would definitely get messy. Imagine how sweet their revenge would be if their smoking was banned. So, naturally, I gave up, and they just kept right on smoking away...

coppergardener said:If most people agree, let's pick somewhere that isn't too smoky. I don't hang out in coffee shops that much anyway. Luckily, none of my close friends smoke.

And as for guys? Kissing a smoker is honestly the worst thing ever to happen to my mouth. I'd rather... well, you know. Also, if someone sits next to me and their jacket smells like cigarettes, my stomach just turns instantly. It's like an immediate bout of heartburn. Just the fact that someone smokes can make me turn away from truly wonderful people.

I've never smoked once.

🙏 🙏
Totally agree!

redgardener5 said:as long as smoking is legal... I mean, I don't think anyone thinks to light up where it's strictly banned. But if someone's in a designated area, TOO BAD, just step outside.

Unfortunately, we live in such an unrefined country. What am I supposed to do, move away??? And it's definitely not true that people only smoke in permitted spots. If you look at labor laws, smoking in workspaces isn't even allowed. You really think everyone follows that? And honestly, having one little table tucked in a corner or a basement with a "no smoking" sign in a bar doesn't help me much.
I'm not saying all smokers are selfish, but non-smokers are pretty rare. Out of all my smoker friends, NO ONE has ever agreed to grab coffee in a non-smoking section. Imagine how inconsiderate the strangers will be!
One day, we'll probably get a law like the ones already active in Canada, Italy, Ireland, and Norway... but given how disorganized things are here in America, I doubt it'll actually work.

Look, you smokers—and especially those defending them—please just realize how incredibly SELFISH this all is. That’s really the heart of it. I can choose to be addicted to alcohol, chocolate, or anything else... but I don't have the RIGHT to force my vices on everyone else. And that’s exactly what smokers do. There's zero consideration for anyone else. It isn't about some silly preference, like if I didn't like someone's perfume or something trivial; smoking is actually HARMFUL. If someone decides to poison themselves, fine, that's their business, but they shouldn't do it to me against my will.
I used to work at a company where people smoked indoors, and it was a total nightmare every single day; so, I definitely get why people complain about smokers.
