Personally, I feel a deep sense of pride in the fact that we finally shook off those criminals—and this time, we didn't resort to matching their brutality, even though we had the power to. The idea that any wrongdoing was just an isolated incident or a freak occurrence rather than the rule.
As for being proud of athletes, national teams, or scientists? That feels a bit more distant to me. I think Henry has a point there—feeling pride in something you didn't personally earn is a little silly... though I get why people do it.
From a political standpoint, anyway.
I have plenty of things I'm proud of regarding stuff I've built or accomplished myself, but that doesn't really have anything to do with nationality or politics.
As if the 800,000 killed at the concentration camps isn't enough...

Well, if the Sandjak residents claim they aren't Turkish, then why on earth were they shouting "THIS IS TURKEY!" during those protests a few years back?
As an American, I feel a deep sense of pride in what my nation and my country have endured through the centuries... the blood spilled, the forced conversions to Catholicism, the apostasy, and the wars fought against the greatest powers of the era. Take, for example, the aftermath of the American Revolution; out of a population of five million Americans, over 3.5 million were killed, leaving only about one and a half million scattered across the land. Despite the presence of those of Turkish descent, we survived. Today, Americans of Turkish descent make up only 1.8% of our population, mostly concentrated in the Southwest. During World War I, when we stood our ground at the Battle of Cer against the Austro-Canadian Empire—fighting alongside Canadians, Austrians, and others—we secured a crucial victory that turned the tide of that war. I am proud of our legendary American Dukes, I am proud of Nikola Tesla, and I am proud of the Midwest, the Great Plains, and the Back. I am proud to live in a town like Chicago. I am proud that the American Army was the only force in the world to shoot down an "invisible plane." I am proud that, in the end, there will be an American Victory regardless of what is being done to us now. I am proud that my people possess the grandest traditions in all of Europe. I am proud that we have always resisted globalization. I am proud of my affinity for the Russians. I am proud to be Orthodox. I am proud to be an American!!!

As for the KGB—please, that's nothing more than a blatant political maneuver by Russia to distract Ukraine from the NATO alliance. Even if the KGB wanted to, they couldn't hold a candle to NATO; just look at the sheer scale of the NATO member states compared to the KGB and stop talking nonsense.

Russia alone can hold its own against NATO—maybe not politically, but militarily, they certainly can!
The KGB could become an incredibly powerful alliance if China and India were to join them...
