Should we release the journalist who threw a shoe at Bush?

For those of you who haven't caught the footage yet, it's absolutely everywhere online right now—you can find it on just about any major news site or social media feed if you're looking.

Honestly, I have to wonder what kind of mental lapse leads someone to lose their cool, shout something ridiculous, and then actually swing a shoe at one of the most powerful and highly protected leaders on the planet...

The big question remains: will they let him go, or is he headed straight for... 🙂

They’ll probably just let him go. He didn't actually fire two shots at anyone; kicking someone's shoe is more like a symbolic gesture—you know, exercising your democratic right to speak your mind. 👍

Maybe he'll grab a few months in county jail for disturbing the peace, though. 😁

I watched the footage, and I have to say, the guy was incredibly accurate. He clearly put in the work at home. But Bush handled himself well enough to dodge that precise projectile.
I'm not sure what surprised me more—the accuracy of the shoe thrower, who probably wouldn't have missed if he hadn't been dodged, or the skilled maneuvering by Bush, acting like he deals with flying footwear on a daily basis. Maybe they actually trained him for stuff like this.😁

Honestly, why even bother freeing him? If you ask me, he’d probably be better off back in Abu Ghraib😠, though I suppose the Iraqi security forces likely gave him a thorough lesson after all that and might still be keeping him in line today. He’ll never forget the moment he tried to take a shot at Bush😁. I have to say, I was genuinely surprised by how quickly Bush reacted; the guy has nothing to lose, I guess, so his reflexes were actually pretty impressive. You have this disheveled Iraqi guy trying to attack him with a shoe, and then there's Georgie just smirking right in his face🤣 before adding: "It was a size 10 shoe"😂🤣. What an absolute legend, that Georgie.

It’s a pretty small room, so I wouldn't exactly put him in Abu Ghraib😁. Still, I am fairly certain that the Journalist isn't having a very pleasant time right now; those Iraqi security forces grabbed him, and honestly, that is probably not great for his well-being. It is widely understood that Middle Eastern security agencies—especially the ones in Egypt and Jordan, and now apparently Iraq as well—can be quite brutal, to say the least. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes😁. Though, I must say, Georgie was such a trip with that grin and his follow-up comment; every time I remember it, I just can't help but laugh🤣.

So, it's pretty obvious that anyone working hand-in-hand with U.S. intelligence services is basically just training to be the next resident of Guantanamo 😁

It’s easy to mess around and troll Bush because Bush is actually used to dealing with "human rights" nonsense. You can protest, you can comment, you can demand a release, and you might even end up in court for a few months or just walk free. Whatever. 😳 Who knows, maybe this was actually a career move for the guy. Once he gets out, he’ll probably be the biggest celebrity in Iraq, maybe even start his own political party. 🙂

From what I gather, this journalist witnessed firsthand the immense suffering of his people while filming his reports. Not everyone has the stomach for that kind of trauma, so it doesn't surprise me that he finally snapped. The horrors happening there have been going on for far too long.
On the flip side, given the wave of kidnappings and killings currently plaguing Iraq, this man has actually earned himself a level of respect from both Sunnis and Shiites alike. He probably caught quite a beating for his actions, but he’s being hailed as a hero across the Islamic world, stretching from Iran all the way to Indonesia. I have no doubt the Iraqi Government will punish him, but I don't expect the sentence to be overly harsh. At the end of the day, this wasn't an assassination attempt—it was an act of pure revolt.

And they might just end up being lumped in with the very last residents to finally leave Guantanamo!
Once (and if) Barack Obama finally puts an end to this absolute mockery of a situation. 😁
