Just because someone isn't easy on the eyes doesn't mean they're incapable. Honestly, Davor Butković and Bago should probably just stay home and troll the forums instead of acting like complete idiots. People have likely been making fun of them their whole lives, and they probably still are, but everyone has their own path. I'm pretty sure they've got plenty of confidence to get by today.

Look, I’m obviously smart, but sometimes I act like a total idiot on this forum. 🤣
The only intelligence test I’ve ever actually taken was the one for my driver's license. It’s basically impossible to fail unless you're a complete moron, so it's hardly a high bar. I actually asked the woman grading my results how I did. She told me: "Upper limit of average."
Not sure what topic to pick here. I'm looking for some info regarding Washington, D.C., John F. Kennedy, and Heathrow Airport.
Is it actually possible to opt out of going through a metal detector or anything else using electromagnetic tech (like those wands)? Could I ask for an alternative that doesn't use magnets instead—maybe a manual pat-down, taking things off, or even just consenting to an X-ray?
Are there any comfortable earplugs out there? If they’re custom-molded, I assume they’d feel better? Is there maybe some kind of protection that doesn't go deep into the ear canal?
Earplugs usually bother me. I don't even wear headphones.
I think what bugs me most about plugs and earbuds is how they seem to compress when you shove them in, and then once they're in, they try to expand but can't. That pressure is just annoying. If earplugs were custom-made, logic says that pressure wouldn't be an issue, right?
What kind of apps can I run on YouTube besides games? Thanks.
The phone doesn't need to be connected to the PC when using an Android emulator, right? 🤔 (I know it does for screen mirroring, but I'm assuming it isn't necessary for an emulator?)
Where's the closest Hollister to the Chicago area?
I’m having such a hard time finding high-waisted jeggings, and they're honestly the only thing that fits me right. Right now, my best bet is Bershka—their high-waisted jeggings look so much like actual denim that I sometimes forget they aren't real jeans.
The other day in Vienna, I saw these ultra high-waist jean leggings on a mannequin at Hollister... I couldn't find them on the rack, and the store was packed. There wasn't a single employee in sight, and I was way too tired to deal with trying stuff on anyway. I thought maybe there was a Hollister near Chicago where I could just shop in peace, but it looks like we don't have one around here.

Maybe something like this. Honestly, it feels pretty silly to them making "special cotton" socks, only to mix in elastin and polyamide anyway.
Or you could try what neonheron23 suggested about using powder (there's a cheap one at Walmart) or Band-Aid Silver Active spray.

Jeremy King2 said:I’m no expert, but perhaps a combination of cargo pants and working on those weaker hamstrings might be worth a shot? https://images.app.goo.gl/mEdYwtJiGCDcJ195A Even though this exercise targets the glutes, you’re going to see some serious definition in your hamstrings—and honestly, I think my own hamstrings were much more toned back when I was rolling regularly. As for fashion, try wearing wider trousers during the winter—something like office slacks—so you can layer tights and leggings underneath. Or, if you're dead set on jeggings, just pair them with a knee-length feathered jacket and skip the tights entirely; I know from experience that layering tights under tight pants is a total disaster.
Thanks for the advice. 👍 Honestly, I probably need to finally start a workout routine like that 😵 instead of just hanging out on this forum all day. 😁 And I definitely have to wear leggings in the winter, otherwise I'll catch a cold.
Is there any way to stop pants from bunching up on my thighs?
I’m losing my mind here. I don’t want to look like an idiot, though honestly, I feel like one with these wrinkled pants. 😁 From the front, everything looks fine, but from behind, right under my butt, it’s a disaster.
I used to think it was because I was too thin, but even after gaining about 30 pounds, I have the exact same issue. Maybe my thigh shape is just genetically unlucky. And it has nothing to do with the size. If they’re too small—they bunch. If they fit perfectly—they bunch. And of course, if they’re too big—they bunch. I know everyone gets a little wrinkling, but mine is way more obvious than most people's.
One specific pair from Old Navy fits me better than most, so over the last two years, I’ve basically built a collection of about 15 pairs of those jeggings in different colors. But even those aren't quite right.
Maybe it’s because I wear tights in the winter. I remember trying on some jeans once that looked perfectly smooth on the sales clerk, but on me, they were incredibly wrinkled. She wore them on bare legs, and I had tights on underneath. But I have to wear tights in the winter. Even in the summer when I wear pants on bare skin, I still have this problem.
Would getting a stationary bike help fix this? Or maybe there are padded shapewear shorts that go down to the knee that could solve it? Anyone got any advice?
I don't want to start a whole new thread here. Is it actually okay to plug my wired keyboard and mouse into a USB hub instead of plugging them directly into the computer? Just wondering if there’s some kind of safety reason why sticking them straight into the PC would be better.
To be honest, I just did a quick Google search and I'm having trouble finding those multi-port hubs online, though I definitely saw them in a shop 🤔 a few years back, they had all sorts of different colors.
Bryan Taylor6 said:just write down what you ended up getting and how much it cost
I can't figure out why I can't find the receipt right now, and I honestly can't remember the exact number... anyway, that first link at the top of this thread from Smartic points to something completely different now, so just ignore that link.
I also picked up a monitor to go with the computer. The setup itself (everything inside) wasn't more than $1.25, and instead of the memory it originally had, the guy at the shop gave me a better version (sorry if that sounds wrong, I don't really know my way around computer specs)...
The machine is a Mac Mini: NUC7iBNH Mine looks nicer. 😁
I'm pretty old-school 😛 and rely on a desktop, which is why I went that route. I have friends who can't even remember the last time they used a desktop at home because they're glued to their phones and laptops. So, if you're planning to buy one, maybe think about whether you actually need it. For me, it's a must.
Oh, right—of course, the guys at IBM installed everything I needed, so I didn't have to deal with any of that myself.
Checking in after what feels like forever! I finally pulled the trigger a few months ago and picked up a mini PC from AMD. Honestly, it’s adorable—it’s basically a tiny 4x4 inch cube. 😍 Everything is running perfectly.
I actually walked into the store with a printout of what crimsonstag84 had written to me, plus some stuff I printed from those Links he shared. 😁 The clerk used those notes to build my setup. They didn't have the exact model from the website anymore, so they gave me a slightly newer version instead. It cost a bit more, but it's still way cheaper than buying a standard desktop tower.
Here's a funny story, though. I'd never even heard of AMD before, so I called Links first to see if they carried tiny PCs about the size of a modem. The guy on the phone initially told me they had them and I should come in to take a look, only to tell me at the very end of the call, "Actually, everything we have is closer to 8x16." 🤦 (Which was the exact size of my old clunky desktop)
So, I just thanked him and headed straight to AMD. They're right near Fifth Avenue. I don't mean anything by it regarding Links—they've always been great—but clearly, not every shop carries these niche builds, otherwise even their specialists would know about them.
Quick update. That whole situation finally passed after a year. The first two and a half months were the absolute worst, but after that, things started looking up—slowly, like a snail crawling uphill, with some ups and downs along the way.
I honestly have no clue what actually happened. My primary care doctor suggested it might just be a "perfect storm" of bad luck. Maybe it was even the weather; there was this crazy wind hitting me from the left while my eye was constantly wet from dripping, which probably led to some kind of cold.
What really pulled me through: letting time pass, finding new things to focus on, and taking B-complex.
Thanks. I'm not in the market for a new PC right now, but I just recently discovered those mini cases, so I'll definitely be looking into them once my current rig finally gives up the ghost.
