By that logic, should we also pass laws banning movies that depict drug use? It shouldn't matter to you whether someone opens a discussion; people can debate whether watching a certain topic will actually tempt someone to go out and buy a baggie, or you can just stay out of it.
In my view, if someone is looking to get high, they likely already had that desire before even opening the thread. It’s much better to be informed because things can go sideways very quickly, so why not ask questions? It’s essentially the same principle as harm reduction programs where needle exchanges provide clean supplies. It's about minimizing potential damage.
