Hi everyone... I found an angel on earth, my sister Dragica. She’s by her side 24/7—bathing her, changing her, watching over everything... Mom is just constantly in pain at this point, regardless of the patches or whatever combination of painkillers we try... her kidneys are slowly failing. 😢 It’s incredibly hard to witness all of this and be right there next to her, though I suppose it’s a small mercy that she’s at home in her own house, at least.
I managed to get a hospital bed; Mom is completely immobile now....
Thinking of you all :*

My mom started on patches today....
Found a retired nurse available 24/7. Heading out this weekend to get the house ready...
Look, I’m willing to pay—but I want to do it from home. For emotional reasons...
The doctor says Mom maybe has a few more weeks left, if that much...
It was confirmed today—there's nothing more I can do, and Mom is coming home. HOW am I supposed to organize this? Please help—I have one week to find someone with medical training who can provide 24-hour care, set up home nursing, get her medications, diapers, a hospital bed... what else???
I've never been in this situation before, so I’m asking anyone who—unfortunately—has experience caring for terminally ill patients at home to please give me some advice and practical ideas...
I'm still a bit in shock...

My heart breaks for my grandfather ;(
Hi everyone....
My mom is currently at Peter Memorial Hospital in oncology. Back in July, they removed a large sarcoma from her uterus—along with everything else... she completed six rounds of chemo and got the news that everything looked okay just before Christmas.
Now, her kidneys have started failing; her urea levels are up... they've inserted tubes into her kidneys to drain the urine, and we’re waiting on CT results tomorrow to see what the plan is for her...
What worries me most is how to organize things once she's discharged from the hospital. I know there isn't much left to be done, but I just want to know how to make her comfortable.

I don't doubt that scenario for a second. Honestly, whenever I have even a minor headache, they immediately volunteer to come over and babysit him for a week. This might sound totally irrational, but since we live in different cities, I can't shake this terrifying thought that my 13-month-old will end up spending a few nights at his grandparents' house while my husband and I stay home alone for no reason at all. I'd much rather wait until the early pregnancy symptoms pass so I can just shut them down and tell them I'm perfectly happy with just the three of us (soon to be four). Whoops...
From what I've seen, you're going to deal with that exact thing about a month before the delivery.😬

Where do I even start with this🙂
Yesterday at Walmart, the summer crowds were absolutely insane. Being seven months along, I spotted that big sign stating that pregnant women and people with disabilities get priority. Naturally, I headed toward one of the registers and politely asked the cashier if pregnant women were given precedence. She just gave me this cold, blank stare and snapped, "Why specifically at this register?" When I asked her which one I should use then, she just shrugged and said, "I don't know, go ask someone else." I was absolutely livid, and honestly, pretty embarrassed by the crowd watching me like I was some kind of zoo exhibit. So, I just gave up and joined the regular line.
This is exactly why women will never run the world. If this is how women treat one another, imagine what the rest of the world is like.
On another note, I’ve only gained about 9 pounds in seven months—probably due to the stress of moving, wedding planning, and everything else going on. Now, everyone has suddenly decided to act concerned and starts shaking their heads at me. I don't see how helpful that is; I've seen people gain 35, 40, or even 45 pounds. If my OB-GYN isn't worried, why is everyone else acting like there's a crisis?
I can't believe you actually went back into the regular line?! Honestly, I would have lost it on that lady—I probably would've called for her manager immediately. Besides, she should definitely know which register is designated—FOR PREGNANT WOMEN & DISABILITIES!
Please, don't even bother asking next time. Just walk up with a smile, start unloading your stuff onto the belt in front of her, and let her deal with it. She has to let you through, regardless of who's watching.

So, I was at my checkup today. After the ultrasound, the doctor handed me a paper towel to wipe up, so I did my thing, pulled my panties back on, and let my dress drop. Then it hits me—I totally forgot to wipe the bottom half of my stomach since it was out of my line of sight, and I had basically smeared myself everywhere. 🙄
Honestly, this kind of stuff drives me nuts. Between that and the fact that I can't go for a run or even wrestle around with my pug anymore—now I’m stuck with these slow, old-person walks.
Oh, and while we're at it, I want to report the chaos at the express lane at Whole Foods. I was just there with one single juice. Does anyone actually know how this is supposed to work? Am I supposed to announce to everyone that I'm pregnant so they let me skip, or should I just cut in front of people and take the first spot? Or are the people who aren't disabled, pregnant, or elderly just supposed to sense my presence and move aside? I have no clue, and clearly, neither does the crowd of people standing in front of me...
People don't see you—their backs are turned—and the cashiers don't either. My approach is to walk up to the very next person in line and politely ask, "Excuse me, is this the maternity lane?" 😍
Basically, yeah, I skip twenty people waiting in the main line and go straight to the register. Those folks have to wait, and honestly, they shouldn't complain since they're in the wrong lane anyway. ☕No one is going to turn you away; some might give you a dirty look, but most people follow the rules.
But DON'T just sit there waiting for people to notice you and let you pass. Don't. 🙂

Mine doesn't bother me much, though she’s definitely an outlier.
Every single time we leave an appointment, she demands to see the ultrasound images and then spends hours complaining about nothing. 😂
I usually have to grab a Xanax just to keep my cool before we even walk out the door. 🙂
Yeah, mine were exactly like that during my first pregnancy. Now I'm pregnant for the second time and nobody says a word. Not during the scans, not "oh wow, look at your belly," not asking how much longer, or how I'm feeling, or where the photos are, or if the baby is kicking... nothing. Just silence.
At least they let me sit down.🤣

Thomas Lopez68 said:What surprised me most is how easy this pregnancy actually is. All those old ladies and neighbors predicted I'd be struggling, but it’s been surprisingly smooth. I do get some weird looks when I'm out walking, though. Not sure why being pregnant is such a spectacle—maybe it's because I look way too young for it. People probably think I'm fifteen.
One acquaintance’s reaction really caught me off guard. She goes, "I had no idea you got married. Is it someone else? Because your husband looked like he was terrified of the idea of marriage." 😲 I just stood there. She didn't even seem embarrassed to say it, and then she added that he'll finally grow up now that the baby is coming.
😲😲😲 Man, I feel like I could tell that acquaintance of yours exactly what she needs to hear... maybe.

Steven Watson19 said:Hahaha, you’re a legend! I don't usually shop at Walmart, but now I'm a little surprised... wait, does an express lane specifically for pregnant women actually exist?
Pretty much every single Kroger. For instance, I think the one in Cleveland doesn't have them—so about two years ago, during my last pregnancy, I went up to the customer service desk to find a manager to ask what to do. It was a Saturday at 2 PM, there was an 800-meter line at every open register, and five of them weren't even staffed.
They ended up opening a lane just for me. 😍

ruggedhound said:Probably nobody... everyone just ignores you. They probably think you have nothing better to do than wander around Walmart while pregnant. 🙂 😁
Oh, obviously it doesn't just happen by magic. But me, pushing a full cart: excuse me, sorry: I shove everything toward the express lane for pregnant women and tell the cashier, "Excuse me, I'm pregnant, can I go now?"
If she turns me down, she risks me calling her manager—which stops the whole line and creates a massive scene during the shift.
So far, no one has dared refuse me. One woman once said, "if the others let you," and I politely pointed out that she was currently working the PREGNANCY AND DISABILITY LANE, so maybe some other pregnant lady—or someone with a prosthetic limb—could let me through instead.

Heading out to Walmart now with the kid, my wife, and a bit of a baby bump. Let's see if they actually let me through the express lane for pregnant shoppers or if I get shut down. 🙂

What, you're still going strong? (And after August?) Hahahaha.
No, I completely lost it. Get outta here.

It honestly gets under my skin—the fact that I’m only 21 weeks along and people still can't see anything yet, but everyone is constantly badgering me about whether it's a boy or a girl. All these endless theories... as if I actually care what they want the outcome to be (wtf). And the excuses about why it isn't visible yet? I really don't give a damn. As long as the baby is active, healthy, and thriving, that's all that matters. Besides, it's a boy first—and if it were a girl, maybe things would be different, though having two boys would probably be even more chaotic. :ghaaa:

I wouldn't let anyone—family or friends—touch my stomach. I’d just step back and watch them, even if it meant looking like the bad guy or being rude. Seriously, wtf? As if someone would be stroking my belly if I weren't pregnant. Gross.
