Steven Chavez said:Yeah... I have a really strong feeling this is IT! 😁
Honestly, it feels like fate is just messing with me...
And now I get to sit here and wait ten whole days... great.

I'm crossing everything for you so you get that positive result 😍
but I know some girls mentioned they tested a day or two before their period started and it came back negative..
It’s probably best to just hold off and if your period doesn't show up then, go ahead and take the test..

To be honest, I didn't even believe I was pregnant myself..
like, I couldn't wrap my head around the idea that it could happen that fast, literally the very first month we decided to start trying for a baby... so I waited a whole week before testing.. I kept making up all these random excuses for why Mike was running late or why things were off..
Steven Chavez said:Does it make any sense to grab a pregnancy test when I still have about 10 days left until my period?
We’ve been trying to conceive—and my breasts have been hurting like crazy for a few days now... they usually ache before my period, but typically just a week out. This feels totally different. It hurts so much I can't even sleep on my stomach...

honestly, I think it's way too early for you..🤷

I didn't even bother testing until a full week after my period was already late..
and I just grabbed one of those cheap ones from the drugstore and did it in the evening without even thinking about it..
I wasn't even trying to concentrate my urine or waiting for the morning or anything like that..
it showed a positive within just a couple seconds..😍
James Anderson8 said:Oh, for heaven's sake... goodness gracious... 😠

exactly..
thank goodness I only have to deal with them once a week..
I honestly thought I was going to lose my mind this past Saturday.. 😠😠
Every time I see my father-in-law my blood pressure hits the ceiling, and the second my mother-in-law opens her mouth... especially with that whole... ULTRASOUND thing being "dangerous".. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..
And she won't even say it to my face like I do, she just drops these hints about her daughter who just had a baby lately..
Like, oh, it wasn't good that she went for ultrasounds so often..
I swear I almost snapped!!!
So I finally lost it and told her straight up that plenty of women need that peace of mind to know if their baby is actually healthy or not when something goes wrong..
Because let's be real, not every woman is choosing to have a sick child..
But you can't teach an old dog new tricks, right?,,
And my clean-cut brother-in-law is absolutely throwing a tantrum because we didn't show up at his house to celebrate Christmas and New Year's in person, but just sent him a text instead since he's impossible to reach..
What a jerk..
With this belly, I feel like I should be making a pilgrimage from one shrine to another just to get to the dentist..
I told him that once I actually give birth, I'll be the one needing to go to the hospital to show off the baby, not him barging in whenever he feels like seeing it..
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..
I am just beyond furious..
I want to just 🙂🙂🙂🙂:2up:
Brother-in-law... sister-in-law... father-in-law...

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..
😠😠😠😠😠
Ugh, this stupid cough is driving me absolutely insane because I’m straining so hard I feel like I’m going to pop a blood vessel, but nothing actually comes up, it just leaves my throat feeling totally raw and irritated.. 😠
Even that marshmallow syrup stuff isn't doing a damn thing..

And another thing, my mother-in-law seriously spiked my blood pressure yesterday to the point where I almost lost my mind on her.. though I managed to give her "that look" instead..😠
We stopped by their place since we hadn't seen them since last Sunday.. and immediately she's all like, "Oh, I thought you guys weren't going to come over".. like, is it really that much of a struggle to swing by once a week?
It’s not even the drive itself that kills me, 28 miles it's the mental toll of sitting there listening to my old man groan through every single sentence because he's constantly drunk and just plain exhausting.. but we showed up anyway.. so she can just shove it..🙂
Edward Rodriguez4 said:Miller... and I should've stayed with him until the end of my pregnancy, but I don't know why I didn't. 🤷 I think he was out or something. I mean, this guy is alright, okay, we talk and stuff—but it's like being on a treadmill, nothing happens. And that nurse, the one checking your heart rate... 🤮 she was so cranky and rude, like, just get lost! Her desk looked like a cheap folding table from a garage sale!

Honestly, nurses can be such a trip... like, they act all high and mighty and stuck-up, but then they turn around and start calling everyone "sweetie" or "honey" or "darling" like they're your best friend or something. It’s wild.🤣

Wait, which Blajic is it again, the older one or the younger one? I swear, those two are always getting mixed up in my head because they've got such similar names. My cousin actually went to the older one for her prenatal care, and she was honestly so happy with everything—she’s just one of those doctors who is constantly joking around with her patients and making everyone feel totally at ease, you know?
I was actually planning on heading over to Dr. Miller’s clinic to get my prescription filled because, honestly, I much prefer the female physician's approach—there's just something about the way she handles things that works better for me than the guys. But then life happened and I had to make an emergency run over to the Mayo Clinic instead, and since it was a Tuesday, everything was totally backed up like it always is on those mid-week shifts. I tried going back a second time, but they were running some kind of massive training drill or something and I couldn't get in, and then the next time I showed up, the doctor wasn't even there! Maybe he's out hitting the slopes somewhere or just taking a much-needed break, who knows? It's such a headache when you can't get a straight answer, especially when you're dealing with people like those specialists at the local steakhouse, Dr. Herman, who seem to have their own schedule entirely.
I’m heading back out there on the 18th and honestly, I am low-key freaking out about the whole thing... like, my stomach is doing actual flips just thinking about it.🙄

Have you ever actually been to an ultrasound appointment over at Mayo Clinic? Seriously, if you think that’s what a real scan looks like, you haven't seen anything yet because that's basically just a glorified treadmill session. You walk in, you lie down on the table, and honestly, it feels like it's over before it even starts. Like, they don't even tell you anything or show you the baby—nothing at all! They just scribble down some measurements, toss you a "hope everything's fine" vibe, and then you're just left wandering around later trying to scroll through the results on your phone hoping you didn't miss something huge. It's such a weirdly impersonal way to do things, I swear. 🙄
It honestly drives me insane how much anxiety I’m feeling lately and just how completely out of it I feel... 🙄
I don't need to go around telling everyone my business... but it's already stuck in my subconscious whenever I look at something and think, "What if someone tells me I shouldn't buy this?" It's seriously getting on my nerves... I haven't even gone overboard with clothes or anything else, I've been super careful about grabbing bigger pieces during sales and clearance events... and with baby clothes... I mean, kids just mess everything up instantly, so there's no point in keeping them in pristine condition forever, right?
It's honestly just put me in such a funk..😢

Edward Rodriguez4 said:So I went to my appointment at Mayo Clinic today and honestly, what a total nightmare. I’m actually looking forward to labor now because I genuinely think giving birth will be less painful than what that "doctor" put me through today! This guy handled me like he was breeding livestock or something... just zero empathy. He had his arm practically up to my elbow while I was hunched over, shoving and turning everything around, and that speculum? It felt like an XL size from some horror movie! I get it, they’re probably overworked and rushing through patients to hit quotas, but seriously, give us a little grace! A little tenderness goes a long way! Total creeps, the lot of them!
But whatever—the baby is healthy and on track, which is all that matters in the end.

Which doctor were you seeing? I usually see Dr. Miller and he’s actually been totally fine the one time I went to him, but the last two times some other guy was covering for him and I can tell you, I felt exactly like you did... I was aching and throbbing all day long... I literally had to hold my stomach with one hand just to make it to the restroom..😳

And don't even get me started on the bathroom... I know you're supposed to aim for the little hole, but if you can't actually hit the target, you end up soaking the entire stall, the floor, the walls, everything... fuuuuuuuuuj... I always say men are messy, but man, there are some seriously gross women out there too... it's terrifying... the bathroom is like three feet by three feet, and when you walk into a stall that's been completely soaked, you can't even turn around without stepping in someone else's urine.. and then later you hear that the woman who was in there before you had some kind of infection or disease, and you just sit there spiraling, wondering if you accidentally touched something and caught whatever she had..🤮
Honestly, everyone is seriously getting on my nerves with these stupid comments about how I’m going to end up having a kid instead of just collecting dolls... just because I'm constantly buying some new damn thing... which, by the way, I'm paying for with my own money, so why do they even care? Like, if I want to go out and buy fifteen T-shirts or maybe just two, that's my business, grrrrrrrrr..😠

First off, being a parent is my life and I absolutely love every single little thing I buy for myself.. and I am so incredibly sick of feeling like I have to justify why I picked up one more thing.. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..😱
Ugh, some old lady totally blew my mind this morning... I was heading into my appointment at the Social Security office—first time ever—and after some sweet older gentleman suggested I might get priority since I'm pregnant, I knocked on the door. And then, out of nowhere, this woman starts yelling at me! She’s basically interrogating me about why on earth an expectant mother is even showing up in a room full of sick people, saying I should just be resting at home and that if there was any issue, my doctor should have been the one to tell her. Like, excuse me? She didn't say anything to me before, and I had zero clue she was going to go off like that. Honestly, I was right on the verge of bursting into tears right then and there. 🙄
Then, literally ten minutes later, this completely different, super chill woman walks out. She tells me she isn't going to grill me at all, hands me my paperwork, confirms my medical leave is set through the end of the third trimester, and even wished me good luck with the delivery! I was just standing there in total shock. 😛

Oh, and regarding names—my cousin picked Lana for her little one and Jane for hers, but everyone constantly messes them up! Even I do it all the time, and they both end up getting called "Lan" or "Jan." It's such a mess. 🤣

My husband is dead set on naming our baby Kim; he’s been calling her that from day one. Personally, though, I don't hate the idea of Tia either. 😍
analognomad59 said:man 😢 my ass hurts, my stomach is killing me, and I’ve been straining like an idiot for half an hour now... I’m honestly terrified I’m gonna mess something up if I keep going, but if it doesn't happen, it just doesn't happen 😢😢😠

and now I’m low-key worried that all this straining is doing the same damage as actually pushing too hard, and like, is that dangerous? 😢

Man, I totally get that... honestly, that's exactly what keeps me up at night too because I've dealt with that whole constipation thing maybe two or three times now and let me tell you, it is absolutely terrifying when you're actually sitting there trying to go and you just know it’s going to be a total disaster. 🙄
Ronald Davis22 said:I can’t say I expect any drama with my mother-in-law, mostly because she hasn't had the audacity to meddle in our business or offer unsolicited advice on how we run our lives—so, really, credit where credit is due. She’s always been much more devoted to her eldest son, who is essentially the golden child, and by extension, his wife and their one little boy, who is currently the center of her universe. Since I married the younger brother, I’ve mostly been an observer to this dynamic, where if the older brother so much as snaps his fingers, she’s already halfway out the door to do his bidding, largely because they provide the financial backbone for everything. We’re actually facing a bit of a logistical nightmare coming up in January; it looks like I’ll be stuck in the maternity ward, while she’ll be over in the gynecology wing for a minor procedure, and my nephew will also be in the pediatric unit for surgery. And get this—listen to the sheer nerve of her—she actually told our family doctor, "Please don't schedule my surgery for January; my daughter-in-law needs to give birth, and he needs to be ready for her, plus there’s another grandmother who can step in to help." Honestly, I think she was just saying that to be polite, because deep down she knows my parents will be right there by my side for everything. For her, it's all about the panic of not being able to fly over the second the baby comes home from the hospital and being expected to play the role of the tireless, hovering grandmother—and we all know exactly why that is.
My child isn't even here yet, but I have this sinking, gut-wrenching feeling that there will always be a blatant hierarchy between these two grandchildren... but I suppose it doesn't matter, as long as my own parents stay healthy and around for as long as possible.

Look, in America, it's totally normal for families to play favorites like this, so I don't see why it wouldn't happen here too... it's like none of the kids are any good except for the one from my sister-in-law... hers are basically gold, you know? And I can't even wrap my head around loving the little guy... I know, I know, he's a baby and I shouldn't feel this way, but seriously, that kid is just so incredibly irritating and I can't stand him, it's actually wild... and I don't think it's just us either, because his grandparents act like he's some kind of perfect little angel... oh man, if you could only hear how they brag about how well he eats or how he plays so nicely... it honestly makes my skin crawl when they start acting like that.
..and I am right there with you... I just want my folks to stick around forever... at least then my kid will actually get to experience what having real, awesome grandparents is all about. 😍
I don't even need to get into the whole buying thing because let's be real, nobody actually bought anything, nobody even offered to chip in, and honestly, nobody is ever going to, and frankly, I couldn't care less... there are plenty of other grandparents out there who will step up and handle the shopping anyway. 😍
And as for the party... the big celebration and the christening... I’m not planning on doing anything massive or over-the-top or anything. Whoever shows up, of course, they’ll have plenty of cake, meat, appetizers, and all that good stuff, but I am absolutely not looking to organize some huge spread at a restaurant—even though I know everyone would prefer that so they could just show up, eat, drink, and bring some cheap junk like that Chinese food > Harold Cook2 mentioned... I’d much rather take that money and put it straight into my kid's savings account or buy them something they actually need. ☕
It honestly drives me absolutely insane when people act like every single mother-in-law is just some pushover who thinks we’re all totally incompetent... like we don't know anything, or we aren't good enough, or we aren't actual mothers, or even real women, or whatever else they want to throw at us...
Ugh, she is just way too much... honestly, every single time she opens her mouth she pulls some ridiculous stunt that sends my blood pressure through the roof immediately.
..and then there’s the whole thing where she tried telling me I was carrying a boy, even though since the 12-week mark both my doctor and the specialists at the hospital have been dead certain it’s a girl, but you know how it is, you can't explain basic facts to someone who's just stuck in their own little world.🙄
mambi, seriously, you are so lucky you don't have to deal with this kind of mother-in-law drama... I'm just trying to tell myself that once I actually have the baby, I'll finally get some peace and quiet because I won't have to see her for a while, and eventually she'll show up again and I'll just have to find a way to survive it (thank God for NordVPN 😂)
So I swung by my sister-in-law's place yesterday to drop off some Kinder Bueno for her... and wouldn't you know it, her mom—aka my mother-in-law—was right there... ugh, just my luck!
..She immediately started dumping all this "expert" advice on me about how I’m doing everything wrong... first, she was badgering me to use a baby carrier for a week-old newborn. I told her straight up: no way. I’m not interested in carrying anyone else's kid, especially one that tiny, and I definitely don't want someone constantly lugging my own baby around in a wrap. She goes, "Oh, come on, just hold him..." and I'm like, look, if it were mine, I'd be holding him and carrying him myself because he's mine, but I'm not touching someone else's baby, period. But honestly, you can't explain logic to her... and oh my god, the way she was holding that poor little thing... seriously, heaven help us. My sister-in-law told her a hundred times to watch the baby's head, and she just goes, "Oh, mine was fine." 🙂 Then she moved on to telling me never to give a baby a pacifier... then she started going on about how back in her day, they used to wash diapers in a creek or something. Like, excuse me? Am I supposed to go find a stream and wash diapers in the woods now? And then she brought up how she used to bathe her kids before the umbilical cord even fell off. I told her, absolutely not, I am not risking an infection like that, it's just not safe. She just insists nothing bad will happen. 😠 Then came the absolute nonsense, like wearing a red string around the wrist for luck, or how a baby isn't allowed to leave the house until they've been baptized... it's just too much. Finally, my husband just snapped. He told her he was totally fed up with all the unsolicited advice and basically said everyone here had their turn being parents and proved they weren't exactly experts, so they should just let us raise our kid our way. If I want to use a pacifier, it's my call; if I want to use a bottle, that's my business. That shut her up for a second, but then she started bragging about how hard she worked during her pregnancy (meanwhile, I'm just chilling at home with my six housekeepers doing everything for me) talking about how she carried heavy buckets of water and even painted the house right before she gave birth. Like, girl, are you actually serious? Just... wow.
..Then she had the nerve to ask me why I'm not baking anything for Christmas. Honestly, I wanted to tell her: I won't be. I'll just send my husband to the local soup kitchen to pick up some food for us since I don't cook a single thing or do anything for her. Such a cow... she thinks just because I don't brag about making a specific meal or a batch of cookies that I don't know how to do it. Last weekend she acted so surprised when she asked my husband if he was hungry (she always asks him because the poor guy barely eats anything) and he said he'd had some chili. She's like, "Where did you eat it?" and he says, "At home." I'm pretty sure she doesn't have the slightest clue how to make chili herself... grrrrrrr... she irritates me so much. If my father-in-law had been there, she would have completely lost her mind. 😠
Ugh, I seriously just got totally wrecked by this lady at the grocery store... so there I am, just standing there waiting for the cashier to get to me so I can grab my bread, right? And then this old woman just absolutely bulldozes her way right past me in line! Like, it wasn’t even hard to see I was pregnant because, let's be real, I’ve got a massive baby bump going on right now. So naturally, I lost my cool a little bit and snapped at her, asking if she really thought I was just standing there for the fun of it, and she has the nerve to look at me like *I'm* the crazy one and says she "just needed some pastries." Like, excuse me?? I was trying to buy a whole loaf of sourdough, not a handful of muffins ☕ misssslim.. 😠
Ugh, this whole forum is seriously driving me up the wall because it’s just soooooooo incredibly glitchy and slow, like, actually snail-paced... I swear I forget what I was even trying to look up by the time the page finally decides to load. 🙄
..people aren't even telling me to get all the sleep I can while I still have the chance...and honestly, it kind of trips me out because they're constantly coming at me with all these other warnings and stuff...but then they turn around and tell me that labor is going to be an absolute nightmare and I'm gonna be struggling so hard, basically because I'm supposed to be taking it easy since my blood pressure has been high from the get-go, which just drives my stress levels through the roof if you ask me...so every single day I make sure to get out there and walk for at least two hours, usually just wandering through the local mall or something if I have to, and I do it in the mornings because that’s when I actually feel somewhat human since I’ve had some rest and I'm feeling refreshed...but clearly, that's just not cutting it and I probably need to 🤷 run a freaking marathon every single day just to stay as flexible as Vesna Mimica
katjes said:I honestly don't buy this whole story for a second, though I guess it’s a decent little distraction if you're just sitting there sipping some coffee.☕

Trust me, there is way more to the story than what you see here... seriously, if you actually started telling everything from the very beginning, you could probably write a full-blown bestseller about it. And don't even get me started on my in-laws, who have been constantly bickering and complaining to the neighbors for three whole decades now, and lately they've actually had the nerve to try and squeeze money out of us for their ridiculous nonsense... well, I am officially done with that. I told them straight up that from now on, I'm spending my money on whatever I want—whether I need it or not—so that my husband won't have anything left to hand over to them, since he clearly doesn't know how to just say "no" when it counts.
Ugh, my sister is seriously driving me up the wall... I honestly can’t believe how dense she is, though actually, maybe it’s not her being stupid, it’s just me for letting her get away with this stuff. Anyway, she’s pregnant—which, let’s be real, basically everyone is for those nine months—and during this whole stretch, she went out and bought these fake little baby tights for $4.00... unbelievable... seriously... total trash. Then last week she calls me up asking if we can lend her $100 because she apparently got a lien put on her house over some unpaid Avon bill! And of course, this triggered this massive blowout between me and my husband because, surprise surprise, she blew all the money she got from her girlfriends and now she's broke and expects us to bail her out, even though I don't need the cash... it feels dirty or something, you know? Plus, I don't need to buy anything for the baby yet; things just kind of show up when they need to, or am I supposed to just wait until the baby arrives and then what? 🤷 Wrap the kid in a bedsheet?? 😠 And look, it wouldn't even be such a huge deal if she hadn't sat there at my in-laws' place on Sunday bragging about how her hair stylist is coming over on Wednesday to cut and color her hair. My mind immediately went to "oh, she's using my money for that," obviously. So I bring it up to my husband later and he, the idiot, goes, "Who cares what she spends it on, she said she'll pay it back by the end of the month." He's said that a hundred times before and it never happens, but there I am, getting worked up and looking like a fool again. Then, get this, she calls me yesterday morning to say she gave birth (four days early!) and asks if I can lend her diapers and some other supplies because she "didn't have time" to go shopping. Well, newsflash: I won't need anything until the baby is three months old, so she can just give them back to me when I actually need them, right? Eeeeeeeeeeee, I finally just snapped. This is my first baby and I want everything to be brand new for him, especially cloth diapers... I don't want someone handing me back used crap. Everything I've bought, I picked out with so much love and care for my little guy. Then last night my husband talks to her and she tells him that I told her I'd bring the stuff over, so he passes the message along to me. And I'm like, seriously? Am I some kind of joke or is it written on my forehead? Did she really not realize she was pregnant for these nine months? Or that she actually needs stuff for a baby? And he's just like, "I don't know, what did you two agree on?" I told him I should just call 988 and talk to a professional about this mess. I mean, seriously... so I finally just lost it and told him, fine, I'll go buy the diapers, but she can forget about anything else. And those $100 for under the baby's head? Forget it. I am so done with everyone pulling my leg from every single direction. On top of that, I'm such an idiot asking my niece a few days ago if I could have her stroller since the little one hasn't slept in it for two months, simply because my sister isn't capable of buying one herself! But she has money for everything else—makeup, hair, clothes, whatever—but for the baby? Nothing. Well, guess what, I don't have it either, and even if I did, I'm not giving it. Not to mention his parents are the exact same way. Like I'm some kind of Federal Reserve where anyone can just take whatever they need. Well, here's a tip for all of you: :2up: I am officially done letting people screw with my head.
