I’ve totally filled out in my hips and booty, but my stomach? Still hasn't moved an inch!!!
And here I was hoping I'd just get that cute little round belly... nope, totally went the other way😂😂
But hey, I still look pretty good myself!!!
John Baker5 said:I just got totally let down by a pear... I picked out such a beautiful one, fully intending to sit down and enjoy it properly, but then I took a bite and—it was rotten right in the middle 😢

🙂 🙂 I seriously need a replacement pearrrrrr...

😘 I feel you on that...
During my pregnancy, I became obsessed with eating the exact thing I had in my head, prepared exactly how I imagined it. If what happened to you had occurred to me, I probably would've burst into tears. 😁
Turns out I turned into a total food freak.
I was losing my mind because of this one couple—the wife was at the exact same stage of pregnancy as me, but she could already feel the baby moving by week 15, just like her husband could. My husband was totally 😲 freaking out about why he couldn't feel anything yet and if everything was actually okay...
So I told him to chill. At 15 weeks, it’s probably just gas or something, and that might be all his dad was feeling back then...
My husband only just felt the little guy a few weeks ago, and honestly, I can barely feel anything in the front either... but now? This kid is absolutely throwing a party 🙂
It honestly bugs me thinking I’m going to end up with all this cheap stuff from overseas for the little one (I’ve already received a few pieces)... especially since it's coming from close family. I always make such an effort to buy high-quality, American-made brands or something locally crafted for babies...
It’s so stressful when my boss storms into the office before I can even hide this forum window!!!
Taylor Perez said:I originally started coming here just to vent all my frustrations (and honestly, I fully intend to keep doing 🙂), but lately, this thread has actually been making me laugh! It’s such a blast reading about everything that gets under our skin—it makes me feel like even us "sweet, innocent" types can let our mischievous side out once in a while.
By the way, my tall hubby actually has a couple of horizontal stretch marks on his lower back that he didn't even realize were there until I pointed them out. It's funny because, a few years before I even got pregnant, I was obsessing over whether I'd get stretch marks—like, would it be the end of the world?

But you know what? I couldn't care less now. If he isn't worried about them, we shouldn't be either—especially when we know exactly why they happened in the first place...

I realized they don't even notice them... after we'd been together for about three years, my man goes, "Hey babe, where'd you get those scars on your hips?" I just stared at him like, "You think these are scars? They're stretch marks..." and he was just like, "Wait, those are stretch marks??" 😍 honey
analognomad59 said:Ugh, what really gets under my skin is that he actually *would* tidy up if he just did it when he got home, but nopeeeee... 🤦 I end up turning into such a total control freak at times when I really shouldn't, but then when I actually need to pull it together, I just completely fall apart and have zero energy left for anything 👎🤷 Like, I really ought to be hitting the books right now, but instead, here I am, hanging out on this forum because I'm just way too wiped out 🤣

Total mood... I'm trying to chill out though. 🤦
Merry, I think we're all in the same boat!
I jump at basically every little noise! I try to keep it together as much as I can... but man, some days it’s just a struggle...
And I totally get what you mean about the mood swings... yeah, I also think it's all down to hormones!

I used to get annoyed by this stuff before, but now? I literally want to crawl out of my skin. I can't stand it when people don't know how to eat or chew gum properly—just smacking their lips and making weird noises. Especially when they lick the food off their fingers like some kind of animal after a meal!!! 😠
I honestly don't mind him teasing me one bit... it’s not like he does it every single day, and deep down I know I’m his favorite person anyway 😍 plus, he loves playing the "protector" role. Like, the other day I’m sitting on the floor struggling to tie my sneakers, telling him I just can't do it, and he goes, "Why should you? You're my little princess!" I was seriously dying laughing...
And now, he’s totally obsessed with pregnant women... we were heading out to dinner once, and before we even walked in, he whispers, "Aren't you worried people will think you're just overweight instead of pregnant?" (because, let's be real, I was looking more "bulky" than "expecting" at that moment). I just looked at him and said, "As long as you aren't trying to trick me into a cheaper meal!"
Then, during that same dinner, he couldn't stop staring at this gorgeous pregnant lady, asking me, "Man, when are you gonna have a body like hers???" Honestly, I was cracking up!

The whole point is, you shouldn't take everything so seriously!!!
Except, obviously, for my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law 😂 😂 😂 😂

Listen up, ladies, rule number one for riding the bus/subway is to shove some music in your ears 😬 and just stare out the window. Or grab a book and pretend you're busy.
Trust me, you’re most vulnerable when you make the mistake of making eye contact with those seat-snatchers on public transit
. Those people scan the seats the second they step on board with surgical precision, picking their target instantly. That’s the moment: act like you don't care and breathe shallowly. Don't let them see you sweat. 🤣
Jokes aside, don't let stuff like this get to you—you have every right to sit down on the bus or subway and keep your spot without feeling bad about it.
I’m lucky enough to catch my bus a few stops after it starts, so I always find a seat. Once I sit, I stay seated, no matter what, and I don't feel even a tiny bit guilty.
I'm not going to be hovering like a vulture, waiting to see who tries to swoop in on my space. 😲
Everything 👍 especially the bold part!!!!
Sean Long4 said:Why does this bother anyone? I honestly don't get it...

I mean, it's not like I'm walking down the street and letting just any random stranger come up and hug me... It’s usually people who actually matter to me in the grand scheme of things. I really don't see why that would be an issue for me.

I gotta admit, I feel the exact same way... even if there are a few guys out there who think they're better than they actually are. I just distance myself from people like that—if they reach out, I'm already three steps back. 🤣

John Baker5 said:Since we're already talking about giving up priority to pregnant women...

I popped into the grocery store this morning just to grab a few essentials—bread, milk, the usual stuff. I was standing there at the checkout, coat unbuttoned and wearing a tight shirt (there’s really no hiding the pregnancy), and only one lady was ahead of me. As soon as she finished, this girl, maybe twenty or so, just swooped in right in front of me with nothing but two donuts. She didn't ask, didn't say excuse me, she just stood there like it was her spot. 🙄 It wasn't like I had a massive cart full of groceries, but still... then, while the cashier was ringing her up, another woman, probably in her thirties, just cut in to grab a magazine from the rack right next to them. Again, no polite question, she just moved in. 🙄
Luckily, I was in such a good mood that I didn't say anything, and honestly, I wasn't in any rush. But now that I've had a moment to sit down and think about it, it's actually pretty annoying. 🤣

Man, this really gets under my skin. I’ll be the first to admit it—I’m that grumpy person who’s always complaining. It’s honestly never an issue if someone just asks me; I’ll let them pass, even if I see they only have one or two things in their cart. But those people who try to shove past me? I shut them down every single time. I do it out of pure spite, really. I'm not letting them go until they learn some basic manners!

Steven Barrett6 said:We seriously have to speak up, otherwise people are just gonna walk all over you—whether it's at work, in daily life, or when it comes to the big stuff.

I absolutely hate that I get passive sometimes. It drives me crazy because I end up letting things slide when I should've stood my ground.

Look, don't waste your energy getting worked up over stuff like this. You’ve gotta decide if it’s even worth the headache before you show someone they've crossed a line. I usually just gauge whether the person is actually capable of taking feedback. If they can handle being told they went too far, cool. If not? Don't even bother wasting your breath on them. There are way bigger things in life than this, and once you start looking at it that way, the small stuff stops bothering you so much.

Taylor Perez said:Good grief, how many pages have been added since yesterday...
I’m sitting here reading through all this and I can't help but laugh because it reminds me of that one grumpy little Smurf from the old cartoons.

It’s driving me crazy because, honestly, my mother-in-law is a total sweetheart. She wants to come visit us for a few days, but she won't pick a time that actually works for our schedule—she just picks when it suits *her*. Since I'm currently on leave, I really don't have the energy to be playing hostess and cooking up feasts, even though she isn't even expecting it.
But let's be real: I feel terrible about it. I know deep down I’ll end up doing it anyway, even though I shouldn't, simply because she only visits twice a year and she's such a wonderful guest.
I told my husband quite clearly that he needs to handle the logistics and coordinate with her for a time that fits our lives. I definitely don't want it to look like I'm the one being difficult or refusing to see her.
It feels like a constant game of tactical maneuvering just to make sure nobody gets their feelings hurt or thinks the wrong thing. Honestly, it’s exhausting dealing with everyone's sensitivities!

It’s like everyone is trying to "help" me by making decisions for me, but no thanks, people—just let me live my life!
And what am I supposed to do? This woman grew up in a small rural town where you're up at the crack of dawn; she isn't going to spend her whole trip rummaging through my kitchen cabinets. Should I set my alarm for 6:00 AM just to brew coffee? Grrrr!
The thing is, she is incredibly low-maintenance and doesn't ask for a single thing. But once you have a guest in the house, you feel that weight of obligation. When I try to explain all of this to my husband, I end up feeling like a complete villain.

🤣 🤣 😂 😂
Jesse Evans85 said:That is exactly it! It feels silly to say I hate that he’s going out while I’m stuck here—I want him to enjoy himself—but there are moments where I just feel left behind. For instance, Guns was the very first band I ever listened to, and seeing them live has been a lifelong dream. Then, naturally, a few days before the concert, I start bleeding, end up staying home, and my husband goes without me. 😢 I spent the entire evening crying my eyes out, ordered a pizza and some pancakes, and basically just ate my feelings while weeping. At the same time, it would have been ridiculous for him to skip it and waste the tickets; I was actually the one who told him to go, but... well, I wanted to be there too. *Sniff.*
I trust that eventually, this won't feel like such a big deal, but in that moment, it really stung. It felt a lot like what happened last Friday when I wrote that other post.

Ultimately, I just want to say that even though this baby was deeply wanted (it really was!) and I am genuinely happy about it—I still have interests and a life outside of being a mother and everything revolving around a newborn. Because of those things, I’m being sidelined quite a bit, and I know that’s going to continue for a while. Sometimes I don't even think twice about it, but other times, it really gets to me.

Hang in there, let me comfort you... for me, 🙏Guns🙏 🙏are the real deal, but these guys are basically just Axl rose & his backup band 😉
. I heard they were actually great though... I almost went myself... but then I realized what the point was... plus, Axl was never really my type, and now he looks... well, rough
. So I didn't skip out as a protest...
Man, I was a little bummed because I saw Alice in Chains this summer, and I gotta say, the new lead singer sounded like Lenny Kravitz... which was a total NO for me. It's just not Layne
.
And getting off topic here:
After venting about my mother-in-law constantly asking about my weight, Michael Hernandez50 explained to her really nicely that she needs to stop questioning me about it...
We head over to visit them this weekend and everything is fine... until the very last minute when she drops this: "Can you even fit back into your old jeans?" 🙄 Which I obviously answered quite pointedly... like, why couldn't you have kept those comments to yourself during the first few weeks?? (She was asking if I could wear them, not if I could button them or if they were comfortable 😉)
My mom called me earlier and I ended up venting to her about everything. She was totally on my side, saying how rude people are being lately. Like, pregnancy is beautiful, but when you're getting close to the end, you’re naturally changing and you can be pretty sensitive about how you look... so pointing out that a pregnant woman has gained weight—especially when there's absolutely no reason to bring it up—is just straight-up classless. And the crazy part? My own mom didn't say a single word about it to me... though I know I probably overreacted, because she's just not the type to speak up... man, I love my parents.
The worst part is, the weight was never even an issue for me. I didn't give it a second thought until these people started chirping in my ear, and now I'm actually starting to stress about it.
It drives me absolutely insane every single time I visit my mother-in-law (and now her sister was there too) and they start with the "Oh my gosh, you can totally tell! Your chest is huge... you've really gained weight... your hips are getting so wide..." routine. EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME!!! Yeah, I have, because I'm PREGNANT!!! Like, give me a break... and then it’s always, "Don't get too big, honey, you'll regret it later..." Honestly, I'm starting to have nightmares about visiting them. Do they seriously have to comment on the same things every time?
I usually just play along and say, "Yeah, it's pretty obvious now," but they don't get the hint... I honestly don't care about the pounds (my doctor says I'm doing fine, and according to the charts, I'm actually under my target weight), but they've made me feel so self-conscious that I don't even want to go over anymore. I end up feeling like some giant piece of furniture and it just messes with my head... and it's only them. No one else ever brings this stuff up. 😠😠😠😠
So, I've decided: next time they start, I'm telling them if they don't have anything nice to say, I'm not coming back. We'll see how that goes...😠😠
neonsurfer32 said:Exactly. I eat pretty much anything (well, almost everything...), but it never crossed my mind to judge or belittle someone over their diet or any other belief. That changed once during an encounter with some animal rights activists who went off on me and my friends while we were grabbing a bite in front of a Burger King.
I just don't get people who feel the need to force their views on everyone else. We're all just trying to exist. Whether I think a greasy cheeseburger is the best thing on earth or someone else thinks it's garbage... 😉it doesn't matter.

Gotta admit, they really get on my nerves!!!! hahaha...
I’d never bring an animal out in front of people (not even my dog)... because at the end of the day, we should be decent humans!!!

Persephone people have actually questioned me about whether I'll be an abusive parent 🤣... then they give me these weird looks when I say that if my kid wants meat, he gets meat—especially if it's what his body needs based on blood type or whatever. I just hope that once he's older, he keeps it moderate... my husband stays healthy, but he can't wrap his head around not eating meat every single day... though for Sunday dinner, he'll have a little bit of whatever I cooked for us first, and then his steak
Honestly, I’m never that person who looks at someone eating meat and goes, "Ew, how can you eat that?" or whatever. We all have our own vibes and lifestyles, right? Getting cocky about it or lecturing people on what’s healthy—like claiming no Nobel Prize winner was ever a vegetarian, which my uncle loves to say—is just pure arrogance. At the end of the day, we should respect where people are coming from, even if we don't see eye to eye.
Taylor Perez said:This is such a great topic for venting some serious frustration!

Here goes nothing:
It’s driving me crazy that I’ve spent the last three months dealing with constant morning sickness and basically isolating myself from the world,
And then, on Tuesday, I found out I have to be on strict bed rest. It means I can't head to Ikea in Denver to pick up furniture for the nursery, I can't wander through downtown or hit the shops to enjoy picking out baby clothes, and I can't drive over to Austin to visit my friend who just moved into her new place. My whole spring road trip is ruined, and my friend from the Midwest was supposed to visit for the first time, but now I won't be able to take her out for lunch or a movie... all my plans have just gone up in smoke. When the weather finally gets nice, I won't even be able to go for a stroll or sit on a park bench and soak up the sun. To top it off, my ultrasound isn't scheduled for another week, and I am absolutely losing my mind wondering if everything is okay. I'm terrified that things won't turn out fine, and honestly, I'm scared I won't have the strength to pull through this.

Then there's the constant stream of random baby name suggestions, and everyone telling me I need to start eating meat—even though I'm a vegetarian! Meanwhile, my blood work is perfect, including my iron levels, and unlike those "worrywarts" out there, I've never been sick before.
I’ve consulted actual medical professionals, but apparently, relatives always know better than doctors.
Or they tell me, "Just sleep now while you can," as if I can somehow sleep ahead of time for the future! As if! Like I can just bank sleep now and then never sleep again once the baby arrives... give me a break.

When I mention I'm having twins, people just go, "Ohhh, it's going to be so hard..." Yeah, thanks for the encouragement, really. And when I say I want a natural birth, I get comments like, "Wow, you're so brave." Like, what does that even mean? Just weird.

The advice "just eat, it doesn't matter if you're throwing up, something will stick" is so incredibly annoying,🙄 As if they could just keep eating normally whenever they have a stomach bug!

So yeah... again, this is a fantastic topic for venting.🤣

hahaha that bolded part feels like I wrote it myself... okay, maybe more like what husbands say, but honestly, my guy even pushes me to eat fish once in a while (he’s vegetarian too and won't touch fish at all)... plus my blood work is great, iron levels are fine👍... thank God I only had a sore throat at the start of the pregnancy which I cleared up in two days (all natural, no meds)... nothing since then...
And the funniest thing is even my OB tells me "I don't know, I don't know anything"... as if being vegetarian means you just live on bread and cheese!!! Meanwhile, people who eat burgers and deli meats every other day without touching a single piece of broccoli or any fruit/veggies, they're totally fine (no offense intended, just speaking generally...)
I asked a few different OBs and the ratio of them saying being vegetarian isn't an issue is about 4:1, unfortunately this one is mine 🙄
And family always thinks they know everything!!! Way better than any doctors (honestly, whatever they studied seems pretty irrelevant) because family just knows best 🤣 so don't sweat it... just let it go in one ear and out the other!!!
Ugh, I am seriously losing my mind over this dress my mother-in-law gave me for work. It’s pure polyester... I always stick to natural fabrics, so this is probably a total shock to my system. Plus, I’ve been sweating like crazy ever since I got pregnant, but right now? I’m soaked through! 😠😠😠
And as if that wasn't enough, the cherry on top is him calling me to say he’s hitting the gym with his friend today, tomorrow, and every single damn day this week—even though we had dinner plans! Honestly, you'd think he was training for the US National Team or getting ready for the Olympics or something. In reality, those two just spend an hour and a half aggressively sparring together.
I swear, I could bite his head off right now! 😠It’s not like we go out to dinner every other night anyway... and honestly, I’m not even a huge fan of going out, but I finally felt like doing it, and now he’s pulling this "I have training" nonsense (which, by the way, he just decides on his own). 😠
Jason Lee2 said:I am beyond irritated by all the "labor war stories" coming from the delivery room. It seems like everyone—and I mean everyone—who knows I'm pregnant feels entitled to give me the gory details about how someone else was in labor for twenty hours, or how they wouldn't dilate, or how doctors had to jump on their stomach because the baby wouldn't descend. Honestly, just chill out. I need this information about as much as I need a root canal. I try my best to ignore this kind of stuff online to avoid feeding my own paranoia, yet in real life, where I don't have an "ignore" button, I’m getting hit by heavy artillery from every direction. And I'm only just getting started. At this rate, I might actually kill someone before the due date.

I usually just tell people I'm not interested because I'm convinced I'll be done in 30 or 45 minutes max!!! I know that sounds ridiculous, but if I act a little crazy, it catches them off guard so they aren't sure if I'm being serious or just being silly, and then they feel too awkward to keep pushing 😂
. I mean, even recently my mother-in-law felt the need to tell me this story about a woman at her checkup where the doctor said everything was fine, only for the umbilical cord to wrap around the baby at the last second... totally terrifying. Why do people feel the need to scare pregnant women constantly? (Today, my MIL was telling me how when the baby arrives, I won't even have time to go to the bathroom. My mom is the complete opposite; she says she'll watch the little one whenever we want to head out for dinner... man, what would I do without my 😍)
Bryan Diaz said:The only real advice I can offer you—and I think even Merry would agree—is to just pretend you don't hear them. Once they realize their little comments aren't getting under your skin, they'll eventually stop.
I have to say, though, that last sentence really gets under my skin—I absolutely loathe it. It’s as if they're implying I'm going to give birth to some kind of monster rather than a beautiful baby.

Ugh, tell me about it... Honestly, seeing him so scared broke my heart a few times. He looked at me and asked if he’d really never be able to go riding with the guys or play video games again... It got to the point where I was the one comforting him, trying to explain that he'll still have plenty of time for his bike and gaming.🤣
