I gotta admit, it really hit me hard. Like, who actually expects things to be this quiet? My hormones have been all over the place lately, so I definitely started overthinking everything. He finally kicked last night, though, so I finally calmed down. 😉
And my belly... haha! Unless you already know I'm pregnant, nobody even notices, so they don't try to touch it!!! At least there's one perk to this. 😉
So I grabbed coffee today at this local spot I used to frequent all the time before I got pregnant, but I haven't been back in a minute. It was pretty packed, and then this acquaintance of mine walks up and asks if she can see the bump. Naturally, I’m all proud and show her, and she just stares at me and goes, "Is everything okay?" I was like, "Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" And she goes, "You don't have anything... that's not right, something definitely isn't okay!" She said it so loud that everyone at the surrounding tables turned around to stare at me, and she actually says, "That doesn't look like a normal belly for 5 months..." So I told her, "Look, I'm thin, but I'm also really tall, so my bump shows clearly and looks totally normal for where I am..." ☕ Do I need to be a Greyhound bus for people to act normal? 😕
Honestly, what's worse—people constantly asking if everything is fine when I'm not even showing much yet? Seriously, don't go looking for trouble! If I say everything is fine, it's fine. Why do people feel the need to interrogate me like I'm lying? I don't go around telling anyone their belly is too big!!! What kind of comment is that even??
Sorry for the long vent, but she really threw me off my game 🙄
Lately, people chewing with their mouths open or snapping gum too loud has been driving me insane. But honestly? The absolute worst is when someone finishes a meal and then smacks their lips like a total slob while cleaning up the crumbs. It’s gross... I swear, sometimes I just want to stitch their mouth shut! plus one coworker tried to tell me, "I have to prepare you for what happened to me when I gave birth," and I was just like, "Look, I really don't need to hear about heavy or depressing stuff right now." Then she doubles down and says, "No, you really need to know this," because there was another woman in the room who actually rejected her newborn and wouldn't even hold or nurse him. I’m just sitting there thinking, why on earth would I need to hear that? How does that even fall under the category of "not wanting to hear unpleasant things"?
lol how can you say the FBI isn't working when they're everywhere!!! honestly, what gets under my skin most is that every single time I visit my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, it's the same old story... WATCH OUT SO YOU DON'T GET TOO FAT!!! seriously... like I'm some cargo ship... I don't even have a bump yet... and fine, if they said it once or twice, whatever... but every single time? it's getting ridiculous... meanwhile, they've both gained like 60 pounds! then there's the constant questioning about whether the baby is actually okay, where I just play dumb and act like, "of course, since the moment we saw the heartbeat..." but the absolute worst part is people touching my stomach—which isn't even showing yet—especially people who aren't even close friends... ask first, for crying out loud!!!! so yeah, that's my rant👋
