I've been feeling something very similar lately..
And then everyone tells you, "Oh, come on, having a baby is such a blessing, it's worth every single sacrifice."
Maybe I'm just being cynical, but honestly, I don't think it's worth every sacrifice. 😢 😢

I think it's totally normal to stop and wonder if we actually get what's coming to us, how much our entire lives are about to flip upside down.
Having kids is a massive sacrifice and a huge responsibility,
nothing is ever going to be the same again.
I'll never be my own number one priority anymore.

But on the flip side, those little tiny humans growing inside you—they become your whole world. You end up living for them.

I absolutely hate being pregnant, but I seriously can't wait to meet my little angel.

I see you all are debating names... and honestly, the older women in my life have started hounding me too, and once I finally throw out a name they choose, the reactions are just hideous: "What kind of name is that? That's so tacky," or "Oh, don't even bother, I actually know someone with that name..." and before I know it, they've turned that perfectly good name into some ridiculous nickname...
Then comes the gender guessing games: "Well, what are you wearing?" or "What do you *think* you're carrying?" followed by "What's your gut feeling?" or "It could be a boy, but it might be a girl because you have such a certain look about you" (which is usually just their way of commenting on how much weight I've gained around my hips)...
And then the comments start about how I'm still way too thin—even though my doctor tells me I'm doing perfectly fine and there is absolutely nothing to worry about—and how I'm clearly not eating enough...
And why on earth am I not allowed to wash the windows?! Am I forbidden from even lifting my arms above my head? I can't vacuum, I can't mop the floors... I'm not even allowed to walk up the stairs normally, I have to waddle around like an absolute idiot... it's just exhausting...🙂

People are seriously trash for commenting like that.
I picked out this gorgeous name for a little girl before I even knew the sex, and once I found out, I was like, okay, if it's a girl it'll be this, and if it's a boy it'll be that.
So what are they gonna do, judge? They claim they don't like the girl's name because it's "not traditional" or whatever—who cares? Even I don't love my own choice right now, so... look, parents pick the name for their kid, not grandmas, aunts, uncles, or whoever else...
If they're so obsessed, let them carry the baby for 9 months and then they can pick the name.
And that cleaning stuff? If they want everything pristine without anyone doing the work, they can come over and clean it themselves. To hell with that, we aren't disabled.
Just ignore all that noise and be pregnant your own way. As long as the pregnancy is healthy and you and the baby are fine, there’s no reason you can’t do everything just like you did before (obviously, not extreme stuff, like lifting heavy weights and all that).
Hang in there.

Honestly, being pregnant is wonderful—I’m feeling great, and there is nothing quite like those little kicks and stretches to remind you what's happening inside. It's pretty magical, really.

But at the same time? I am counting down the seconds until this whole phase is over and I finally have my baby in my arms. I never imagined I’d feel this specific kind of impatient. 😢
I’m being a nightmare—just constantly getting on my own nerves.

Only 85 days left. (And honestly, that feels like a shorter stretch than twelve weeks ever did. 🤣 ))

You aren't alone in this. I think people totally oversell that whole "pregnancy is a beautiful state of being" thing. I am definitely not enjoying being pregnant (I'm being a brat)
The one thing I actually like is feeling the baby kicking and moving around inside me.
And yeah, I can't wait for this to be done so I can hold them in my arms instead of having them stuck in my stomach.

I've still got "only" 155 days to go (or 27 weeks)
Taylor Perez said:Honestly, I think it is completely out of line to bring up weight when talking to pregnant women. I usually make it a point never to comment on anyone's size because I know how sensitive that can be for most people, let alone someone going through pregnancy

I felt like everyone was losing their minds over me because I lost quite a bit of weight early on due to morning sickness. They acted like I was doing it on purpose—as if I were choosing to have an eating disorder! Hello, people? I’m just pregnant! It's a lose-lose situation, really...

If there is actually a medical issue with my weight, I trust my doctor to handle it and step in accordingly.

Now, I’ve started using a little defense mechanism: whenever someone makes a snide remark or gets something wrong about my health, I just jokingly threaten them with gestational diabetes.🤣

Weight is a sore spot for everyone,
and I seriously don't get what kind of BRAINLESS people feel the need to comment on people gaining weight in general, much less pregnant women.

I never tell anyone they've put on weight or whatever; I always just say "No way, you haven't," or "It doesn't even show." The only time I ever comment is when someone loses weight, because that's a compliment for anyone.
It’s honestly pathetic how people just barge into places where they don't belong. I absolutely hate it.
It honestly drives me up the wall when my mother-in-law starts lecturing me with all that "you need to rest" and "don't overdo it" nonsense, acting like the baby needs me to be a total couch potato or whatever...
I mean, newsflash: I’m the one living in this body, so I know damn well when I actually need a break.
Plus, I feel way better when I'm actually moving around. I’m definitely not planning on rotting in bed all day just because I'm pregnant—everything is going perfectly fine so far, anyway.
For crying out loud, I'm not some fragile little snowflake.
Nancy Jones2 said:Honestly, Sveki drove me absolutely crazy regarding baby names during both of my pregnancies. 😠
First time around—we were discussing what to call the little guy, and I suggested John, only for her to chime in with, "Oh, I think Luke sounds so much prettier." Okay... and? 🤷
Then the second time, which is actually right now—we’re talking about names for the baby girl, I suggest Sarah, and she’s back at it again: "Wouldn't Petra have been better? I love that one." It's always the same thing; like, okay, and? WTF?!?!?! 😠

Ugh, those names... why do they even care? It’s hard enough picking a name without them sticking their noses in our business. They had their turn to pick when they were pregnant. Now it’s our turn.

If they want to play architect, they can go make a new baby and then try picking names again, lol.

P. S. John and Sarah are great names, if you ask me :-)
Olivia Cooper272 said:1. I seriously can't stand it when people announce they're dropping by unannounced. It turns the whole week into this frantic mess where everyone’s scrambling—like, "Oh, the first daughter is coming over, so forget everything else!" Suddenly, nobody has time for their grandma anymore, or they just dodge her entirely because they're too busy dealing with the chaos. And now, one of my houseguests has been running a fever and fighting the flu for two days straight. I'm pregnant, which basically means my immune system is non-existent, and the little one is super sensitive. If I catch whatever this bug is, I'm toast.
2. Then there's my insurance provider. My OB-GYN hasn't even done an ultrasound in six weeks because Blue Cross Blue Shield decided that pregnancy only covers three scans total. Not to mention, back when I was 8 weeks along, I had a 7cm hematoma. Who knows if that thing even cleared up? Now, the doctor is telling me if I want another scan to actually check, I have to pay out of pocket.🙂

$33 That's just how they do things at your checkup, it's really not that big of a deal
Ugh, whatever, you can't fight their damn rules
Kyle Ortiz2 said:When people comment on my weight, I’ve started telling them, "Yeah, I gained some weight because I'm pregnant," just to shut the conversation down. Most people catch the hint and move on quickly.🙂

Everyone around me is being careful, though. For instance, my mom calls a traitor a "leech" and says you have to squeeze everything out of a woman. I told her I wasn't a dairy cow to be milked, and now she won't even know how to ask me if I'm "ready to produce."

It really rubbed me the wrong way when my grandma would use terms like "expecting livestock" instead of saying I was pregnant—like I'm some kind of animal. And she knows it bugs me! Using those terms... it's just gross.

You're absolutely right, and honestly, you should handle it that way.
It drives me insane when this one acquaintance of mine tries to comment on how I've "filled out." She was already making these snide remarks during the first few weeks of my pregnancy when I'd only put on maybe two pounds. Like, what exactly are you seeing? Give me a break.
The kicker is she stays around 140 lbs, while I went from 125 to 130 during my second trimester. Totally ridiculous.
copperjackal49 said:My mother-in-law made this comment about how my legs look really thick and suggested that maybe a longer dress would be more flattering 😢—and honestly, it just leaves me feeling terrible, like I’m out of shape and just... unattractive 😢

Who cares what she thinks? You're pregnant, for crying out loud.
Seriously, these older folks think everything is too much nowadays. Don't let her get under your skin.
Alexander Jackson142 said:I have to be honest, this constant hunger is driving me absolutely insane! It’s honestly getting a bit depressing at this point because I feel like I need to be snacking every single second just to function...🙄
Does anyone know if this massive appetite eventually settles down, or am I just looking at a permanent buffet? I'm currently in my 8th or 9th week.

Don't sweat it, it definitely dies down.🙂
I went through a phase where my hunger was totally out of control,
I'd wake up in the morning feeling like I hadn't eaten in days—if I didn't grab something immediately, my hands would literally start shaking and stuff.
Now everything is back to normal, pretty much how it was before I got pregnant.
It honestly drives me nuts when my mother-in-law starts lecturing me with that whole "don't overdo it, just sit down and relax" routine.
Man, screw that. I can't just sit on my butt all day—that’s actually worse for you. Besides, someone’s got to deal with this mess, and I can’t stand looking at a cluttered house.
It’s like she thinks our moms back in the day just spent their entire pregnancies napping. Give me a break. They were working way harder than we ever will.
The absolute worst part is when I’m mid-vacuuming, then I move on to mopping, and she’s just standing there acting like I haven't done enough. Like, excuse me? If I wasn't doing all this, this place would be a total disaster.
analognomad59 said:Ugh, honestly, it’s driving me crazy how much weight I’m putting on lately... and my better half? He’s constantly hovering with snacks, just like, "Go ahead, honey, grab some more," as if it isn't hard enough trying to stay disciplined on my own without him basically inviting me to an all-you-can-eat buffet every single night... 😬 I know he means well, really, he does, but I’ve already gained about 18 pounds since we started this, and at this rate, by the time the next 13 weeks roll around, I’m basically going to be a pro wrestler or something... 🙈 👎

Thank God I don't have that issue with my husband. He's known forever that I'm super sensitive about how I look and what the scale says, especially regarding weight gain (about 8 years ago I was around 160 lbs, but then during my pregnancy I dropped down to 115 lbs. Since losing those pounds, I really watch my body and the numbers)

My partner and I had a deal: I'm the one who knows best what my body needs. I am absolutely not "eating for two" and I'm definitely not starving myself either. Sure, we need to gain weight, but that's zero excuse to overdo it or use pregnancy as a free pass to binge

So you're 27 weeks along and you've gained 18 pounds? Honestly, that's nothing. Most doctors say gaining like 30 pounds is totally fine, and you usually don't balloon up nearly as fast in the last trimester as you did in the second anyway

I went through a massive weight spike in my first trimester (up 7 pounds, which is way too much since you aren't even supposed to be gaining much then). I was obsessed with pizza—I could have eaten it all day, just living for pizza and ice cream back then. So given that, it's not even surprising at all
placidwalker6 said:🙄Right, because that's why my husband put me on a diet, clearly a brilliant move. 🙄
And then whenever I mention I'm watching what I eat, I get those judgmental looks and comments like, "Are you being serious right now?" or whatever. 🙂

I seriously hate these stupid stories about how you have to "eat for two." Like, people don't get that it's just a figure of speech? It drives me insane.
Modern medicine has moved way past that nonsense and actually knows what works and what doesn't
As if it isn't hard enough already dealing with obesity rates, now they want us all overeating too.
We eat exactly what we need to eat.
It seriously drives me insane when people try to lecture me about my weight
like, they start pulling that "you have to eat enough for the baby to grow" kind of nonsense
as if "eating for two" means you should just gorge yourself constantly. That’s not how it works.

Or they’ll tell me that gaining weight is always a good thing for both me and the baby—honestly, give me a break. If I gain way too much, it’s not healthy for me OR the baby.
